April 15, 2023 Day 51 Do-Si-Dos Cookies: Height: 17.5" DLI: 38 Gelat.OG: Height: 16" DLI: 36 This week will focus on final touches of LST for Gelat.OG. We won't focus much on Do-Si-Dos Cookies. There's not much to keep an eye on. I'll just keep her watered. Gelat.OG looks great! I noticed that a few of her branches never got tied down. So today I made a bunch of adjustments. Each branch was pulled down to a more level canopy and it opened up so many bud sites and growing branches. I might make some small adjustments tomorrow. Just for some final training before she hits full flower. After her stretch I plan on doing a light defoliation. She isn't too leafy, but they're getting bigger and starting to block lower bud sites. She's doing great with her water intake. It's definitely increasing steadily. She's also getting an increase in Nutrients. From 2.5 ml/gal to 4 ml/gal. I just ordered the flowering stage nutrients from Advanced Nutrients. Big Bud Bud Candy Overdrive Nirvana Flawless Finish (don't know how well it will work with living soil) I found a feeding schedule on FastBuds that I'm using. This will all be used with just Gelat.OG. Do-Si-Dos Cookies is still just a little stick pop of a plant. She is 17.5" tall now. I honestly have no idea what to make of her or how she will turn out. Hopefully she gets some hefty buds. I don't expect much from her. Maybe 14 grams? Meh. Anyway, she does have some nice pistil development. Big and thick. The whole plant looks super healthy. I ended up snipping off the inner facing leaves. They were a hindrance and dark green and just not good to keep. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.5° RH: 57.1% VPD: 1.22 April 16, 2023 The nutrients I ordered will be here today. Just in time too. Gelat.OG just emptied her reservoir. Gelat.OG had some major growth last night. She stretched about a half inch and seriously bushed out adding about 25% more mass and seemingly more bud sites as well as new stacks. Her internodal spacing is great! Not too far and not too short. Roots are starting to poke out more and more from the bottom of the container. Soon she will be spreading those roots even higher up. She isn't too leafy, but will still need a light defoliation. But not for a week or so. She still hasn't stopped growing and I don't want to disturb her. Do-Si-Dos Cookies is super sticky. She is also super sweet smelling. This may be the Gelat.OG after all. I'll find out after the other plant gets into full flower. She's good on water for now. Buds are definitely getting bigger. Leaves are also starting to mature and stems are hardening finally. I think that means she will now start focusing on bud development. Grow System Environment: Temp: 73.6° RH: 56.8% VPD: 1.19 kPa Update: I moved another plant out of the tent into the dark tent today. So now there is more space for the Gelat.OG (pretty sure she's Do-Si-Dos Cookies) to grow even more. The other one gets a bit more room as well. She doesn't really need much at all. April 17, 2023 Gelat.OG got a bit wider last night. She doesn't seem to be stretching anymore. No big deal. She is wide enough with enough bud sites to make up for any more height. She's getting thirsty now. Seems to be taking quite well to the nutrients. At least for now. Do-Si-Dos Cookies is potent. The lack of growth in this one will make up for it with some dank bud. Gonna have to grow her again for a better idea of what she should look like. Not much else to report. She may need a reservoir refill tomorrow. I think I'll add some tiger bloom as well. Nothing else though. That's about it. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.9° RH: 53.4% VPD: 1.35 kPa Quick Update: I lifted the plants up about 2" and raised the light to 27" above canopy at 90% power. DLI is between 38 and 45. Much more light coverage. Depending on how they do for the next 2 days, I may lower the light and drop the power down to 80%. Try to save some energy. The coverage definitely improved and is way more even across the canopy. April 18, 2023 Gelat.OG, I'm now convinced is actually Do-Si-Dos Cookies and will be changed for my records. Sorry everyone for the confusion. Anyway, the now Do-Si-Dos Cookies grew even more last night. She stretched an inch and widened out even more. She is taking up around 40% of the tent space, of course is fantastic. She also smashed through her reservoir. The pot was kinda light so I top fed about a third gallon of nutrient water and filled the reservoir back up with the remaining water. I flattened the canopy a bit more today. Just a few branches that were creeping up. That should be it for the training now. Defoliation next week I think. Gelat.OG who is the skinny one is seriously potent. Sickly sweet and super sticky. She also got a top feed of the same amount Do-Si-Dos Cookies got. However, only the fish shit and now 4 ml of tiger bloom. Hopefully we get some fantastic bud from it. Maybe even some bigger colas to make up for her lack of branching. About 3 weeks left on her I'd say. The leaves are really weird. But not enough of them to remove. Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.5° RH: 52.3% VPD: 1.41 kPa April 19, 2023 Nothing less than grand for these ladies. Do-Si-Dos Cookies seems to have stopped stretching at about 16.5". She may have a bit more left in her while she stacks up. All her branches are sticking straight up and ready for massive buds. The bud site production is impressive to say the least. I'd say around 20 tops. Maybe more. There's a lot to count. The outside of the plant has a really nice fence like structure all around with the branches all standing evenly apart with at least 4 bud sites, not including the tops on each. The inside tops don't have quite as much for bud extra bud sites, but there are tons of tops. Gelat.OG looks great as well. I have accepted the fact that she just didn't grow to her potential. Either way, the smell is undeniable and profound. She is super sticky and I expect some killer bud. She got her watering yesterday, so everything should be all set for the next few days. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.2° RH: 50.5% VPD: 1.40 kPa April 20, 2023 420!!!! So just a quick thing. I got a smashing deal from Seedsman. 48 seeds for $175 and maybe some extras. A total of 11 different strains. Super stoked! Back to our day in the life. A major focus on Do-Si-Dos Cookies today. She needed a reservoir refill. 1 gallon refilled with nutrient solution. She also got a bit of a defoliation. I also removed all the lower buds and branches that just didn't make it. It was a fair amount of cleaning up to do. I also opened up some space on top. I mostly cleared out the huge inner facing leaves. The ones covering bud sites and other tops. Anyway, those are gone now. I'd say between 15% and 20% defoliation. She's still a bit messy, but I'd rather better yield than a prettier plant. Gelat.OG didn't get much attention today. She doesn't need it. The leaves are fine, the watering is fine. She got a quarter turn today just like everyday. Buds are getting fatter. However, I wonder why the leaves have always reached. Maybe she wants more light? I'll raise her up and see what happens. Grow System Environment: Temp: 74.8° RH: 50.8% VPD: 1.38 kPa April 21, 2023 Gelat.OG looks really good. Her buds are super fat for her size and stature. Smells great! Sticky and healthy. Do-Si-Dos Cookies is thriving! I snipped off 2 leaves today. She's perfectly fine on water. No signs of nutrient issues whatsoever. She's healthy and has a phenomenal canopy. I'm going to spend the next week or so taking off a leaf or 2 a day. Just cleaning up and opening up more bud sites. She's a 2 ft wide beast of a lady. I can only hope for the best put of her. But so far I think that's what I'll get. The whole Grow System is dialed in to near perfection. Watering seems to be ideal. Oh, I also started seeing a couple of those tiny black flies. Diatomaceous earth to the rescue. No bugs in my tent, thank you very much. Grow System Environment: Temp: 75.6° RH: 52% VPD: 1.42 kPa

Grow Questions

Am I being impatient? These seeds only partially germinated. They stopped day 1 in the paper towels. It's been 3 days and they have since been in plugs for 2 of those days. What did I do wrong? Any and all suggestions are welcome. Oh I used filtered water.

Tell me. You plants the taps right? Facing downwards. Even if there's a curl in them facing up. They'll still push themselves up. So, been you only partially germ it takes up to 3 days to get a tap and then you get a quick 24hr r so pop.. so, if you didn't have at least .5-1cm or more even taps then. Be patient.. if nothing has popped in 2 more days. You should crack them open. And see what's going on. If you see one pop the other should follow soon. So 5 days. 3 days germ and 24-48 hrs before a sprout might pop.. Good Luck.

I couldn't find any real answers on this one. How tall should an autoflower sprout be? My Gelat.OG Auto is 2 days old and over 5" tall. I know it's a light issue, but how tall should I expect to see? You know, a reference point of sorts. Thanks!

It's stretching due to a lack of light. Move it closer to the light source and it will be fine.

Are these seriously roots trying to form on the main stem? Or is it some sort of disease. I hope not. This is a Do-Si-Dos Cookies strain. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks! Using Advanced Nutrients in Sohum living soil. Bottom feed system.

Nothing to worry about. It is normal for roots to be able to sprout from the stem because a cannabis stem can be put under soil to create more roots. You have very healthy looking plants so keep it up. Good luck with the rest of your grow

The spots and discoloration are an issue. I'm in living soil and this is a Gelat.OG autoflower. Everything is dialed in near perfectly. Just the spots. Would this be the start of senescence? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You absolutely do have senescence beginning. You can see that in the coloration/fade but also a calcium deficiency from the looks of it. She would definitely benefit from a little calcium with her next watering. Hope this helps 🙏

Should I take these dead leaves off? She only has about a week left. Or should I just leave them? She is fading very nicely, just want to know if they are beneficial anymore. Thanks!

Removing the dead or fully yellow leaves will force the plant to suck into greener leaves, which also means more sugar and a better smoke. It's just a few ones, it won't hurt them. The dead leaves can also bring mold if the humidity is too high but cutting them off, even is the stress is small, does injure the plant - so mold too. I think it's just a matter of feeling, preferences and grow conditions, some will tell you yes and other no.

No clue what this is. Light gray leaves, tons of trichomes. I'm a bit confused here. Should I just cut the buds that look like this to be safe? Or is this normal?

Oooooo pal. I just want through this. You're gonna have to crack all them buds.. and dead leafs you pull out that fall apart have been hit by rot/mold. Those dead leafs. They need be pult on finding them. Most cases this is a sign of bud rot, " leafs dying from the inside. Yes, on occasion at the end, or a badly lit leaf will wither and die. But, on a scale this bad. Maybe, if you get going now. You can save some of it. I'd harvest that ASAP. Any dead leafs need pulling. Crack the buds, pull apart, cut away.. You'll see if there's rot, slime, foul smell, you'll know it, the bud around the dead leafs, if it's still green, and can't be wiped off, (use gloves). And with a cutter start tearing apart your harvest. This is a few weeks of rot. This is why it really is crucial to check your buds, especially when dealing with high RH (if that is an issue) but the multiple dead leafs, they really need pulling regardless of environment

@gottagrowsometime, That's right. I run a 4 plant perpetual harvest. 2 at a time. I use boxes to raise my ladies as well. Currently everything seems to be perfect, but I see you are a Grand Master and have won some awards. Congrats! Also, that's a whole lot of grows under your belt. Would you be willing to critique my diaries? I have another one for the other 2 ladies in the tent. Thanks for the comments and support!
