Been out of town for the last six days and won’t be back for another two. 7 gallon bucket seems to be empty already? Water level will not increase but may be a problem with pump as the daily use of water would be higher this week than prior. Gonna be a dry reservoir by the time I get back. I was able to fill reservoir this morning somehow. I think the hose may have sunk to the bottom again? No idea until I get back home later today. Will note and rectify for next grow.

When do you heavy defoliate your Autoflower? She's filled my grow box with some stretch yet, and wondering if I can hack some of the branches/leaves that will never see light. If so, what is your sweet spot in a 12 week strain?

I have pruned, defoliated and super cropped autos, the only time you really want to stop manipulating is during the bulk phase of the buds. So long as your plant is healthy. Prune away

Any idea what this Auto strand can yield in hydro? The stage is set for flowering to kick in.

Any chance of super cropping a thriving auto on day 42? She hasn’t flinched at training yet; and got hacked on. I’m running out of vertical space with some developing runners. She’s going to stretch a bit yet, and currently 12” from light with 650 PPFD. Bend, or not to bend?

I wouldn't bend yet... I think you've got enough room left... most of my grows, when I only had a total of 60" in a tent, got to within a couple of inches from the lights. That being said, it will depend a lot on your lights, their strength and what the plant is telling you. I accidentally super-cropped in the late stages of flowering (my Tangerine Dream) and it didn't affect the plant... but it's not something I would intentionally do. But when push comes to shove, and you MUST, try it with only one stem and she how she reacts.. if there's no reaction, go ahead but don't do all of the stems at once.... that WOULD be too much stress. Good luck!

There’s very little peripheral light penetration as she is wall to wall solid inside this box, and now only 4” to the light. Being the first day of week 8, how far would you defoliate this plant?

Bruh.. his canopy is even as hell.. non of that addresses the question. I’d leave as is. Hope she doesn’t stretch much more. If you having dimming capabilities - those may be necessary. But I’d let it get close as possible until you see any actual light burn (which is so commonly misdiagnosed, at least on this page) You’ve done everything perfect frankly.. just not left yourself the ability to adjust if stretch is more than expected. I can’t wait til you run something besides ILGM autos. If autos are your thing - I’m gonna send you some ethos ones I get in my next order.

Against protocol I have hacked on this plant in Week 8. Way branchy! I got into pruning a dozen long scraggly lower runners. I could take out another 12+ wimpy branches easy and open it up good bit for light/air - and then leave it alone? Much anticipated waste, so gamble?

You could take out some of the scraggly lower runners, it will do more good than harm! Come trimming time you will thank yourself! Just don't go crazy, only take away the flimsy ones. I don't think the canopy is too dense at the moment.

I have a single white tip in the whole canopy, and most of the tips are touching the light so it doesn’t look like bleaching? Is it possible it’s all trichomes?

That definitely look like white tips. It's a great sign so congrats. In this part of the bud, an enhanced amount of THC is held. Keep up the good work and enjoy the yield, Wedding Cake is an amazing strain.

Should I get every bud site opened or will a strong upper canopy pump some plump where light is less intense further down? In other words, where’s the sweet spot w/ my defol level? I have upper sites open, but thinking another defol my help race some other shoots to the top?

well it ate my answer that was throrough.. not re writing it all. most likely not. the gain you achieve beliw will be less than what you lose up top for several reasons. one is inverse square law applies to the concentration of light as you get furhter away from the source. also, aprical dominance matters. the plant simply gives more to the buds higher up and nothing can change that. ATP is produced by photosynthesis. 95% of that is in the leaves, 5% is any other green surface (made up numbers but the generalized idea is right.. VAST majority is in leaves.. higher concentration of chlorophyl that can be easily measured as well as proper depth to receive light in top layer of leaves -- this is why light hitting the bottom of a leaf is significantly attenuated compared to the top.. much deeper relative to surface from bottom of leaf. incontrevertible evidence as to why it would be difficult to achieve a net-gain by removing a leaf up top to provide ight down below... And, nothign to do with light hitting the buds... light hitting the leaves will cause an improvement to the buds nearby. as again, not much ATP produced from buds. ATP powers cellular growth. any endothermic reaction will require it ("uphill" reactions). ATP is the end result of photosynthesis. it is mobile, but will be used locally more so than trucked around the plant. receiving slightly more light on a lower leaf compared to the full force of light hitting a leaf near the top is a net negative in most contexts. just math... not feelings... people like to believe the things they do have a positive impact whehther they measured it or not.. .whether they had a suitable sample size to be confident about what they observed or not.

Went on vacation and made it through 8 days of remote management on my iPhone. Ph’d, dosed nutrients, daily water, adjusted dual carbon filter levels, temp and humidity monitor/control from my Disney campground from a single iOS app I created. Freedom is good!

For a first time FloraNova user, I will say stupendous ph stability. Not only is this fertilizer stabile, I am using a 2 gallon nutrient solution! I was hoping that a tiny area would keep this sucker a bit smaller. Maybe next run do 1 gallon?

I hacked her pretty good yesterday, and after a few days of aggressive stretch. Great opportunity to see what is lagging; and off it went! I took about 8 smaller lower branches and lightly defoliated. Canopy looking very strong with a military buzz-cut and 30/70 lollipop! I'll leave her be for the most part from here on out.

Good brother, the truth is yes, the simplicity is amazing and in fact very well soluble, when you have the opportunity, I advise you to experience the Novamax One Part Liquid nutriu, equal to Floramax, epro I think with a more organic contribution. I ah liked a lot In short, it is the GH-European https://www.terraaquatica.com/mineral-fertiliser-solutions/novamax-html/ I congratulate you on the experience, good harvest bro

@NoalosFacinerosos, Thank you for the insight! I gave it a quick look up and notice they have Cal/Mag and some other treats in each part. That knocks a couple more squeeze bottles out of my 3 sf cabinet. Will use on my next grow without fail as an experiment. Awesome.
