Germination took about 2 days and they were ready to be put in the soil. I forgot to take pictures because I was too excited to get them started. More updates coming soon! (With pictures next time)

10 Days since they popped out of the soil. The plant on the right has been growing steadily and looking good since day 1. The plant on the left has been developing at a slightly slower rate. So far I have been giving them PH-balanced water only, and being very cautious not to overwater them. Any tips or suggestions would be much appreciated!

Roughly 1 month in and these girls are still growing strong! I've been doing continuous LST. Very minimal defoliation at this point (Less than 5 leaves per plant total). On day 24 I noticed what believe was a spider mite so I ended up buying some neem oil and gave the plants a nice spray (continuing to monitor daily). Both girls have started showing pistols so I fed the first dose of Maxibloom on day 28. More updates to come!

As you may have noticed there is only one plant in the tent. The reason is that the other one showed 2 pollen sacs at the beginning of the week so I removed it from the tent and put it outside. I removed the pollen sacs and have been monitoring her since and I haven't seen any signs of more pollen sacs developing. I am kind of unsure how to proceed with her as I do not want to contaminate the female plant, so I think I will just keep her outside to play it safe.

The plant seems to be progressing nicely, but I do have some concerns. I noticed some red stems developing on some of the fan leaves. Not sure if I should be overly concerned about that as I've read that it could be genetics. My main concern is that some of the older fan leaves are showing discoloration. Not sure if these are deficiencies or potentially nutrient lockout. Up until this week, the only thing I've done is PH the water and feed conservative nutrients about 1 time a week (starting week 5) and PH water the rest of the week. Yesterday I tested the runoff (for the first time since the start of my grow) and that's what got me worried. I feed her a 1/2 teaspoon of liquid kool bloom with the water Ph - 6.3. The Ms - 1.3 The uS - 1321 going in. My runoff levels = Ph - 5.6 uS - 3490 mS - 3.5 PPM 500 - 1790 PPM 700 - 2630 Need to educate myself more on PPM TDS and EC. Still don't have a solid understanding of those. I plan on feeding plain Ph water for the next watering and then checking the levels again and hoping for the best. As of right now, she seems to be doing pretty well overall (although the leaves are slightly on the dark green side).

She’s still going strong, buds are getting thicker by the day and she’s also got a fruity skittles kind of smell coming in. I still have some concerns that I might be having ph problems so I have a new meter coming in today. With the spots on the leaves I’m thinking there may be some nutrient lockout happening. Last watering when I checked the run off the ph level was slightly low at 5.9. The ppm was almost 3x more than what the input water was. So when my meters get here today I’m going to double check again and if I’m still getting those levels then I will plan on flushing her. This is really the first potential issue I’ve run into since the start of this grow and being my first ever grow I’m a little stressed about it. None the less I’ve really enjoyed the growing process so I’m trying to remind myself that it’s more about the journey than the destination. More updates soon!

As you can tell from the pictures above, I've been having some issues this past week. I ended up flushing her at the beginning of the week because I suspected nutrient lockout. In retrospect, the deficiencies I was seeing are probably due to underfeeding. Still unsure being a first-time grower. I plan on giving her a full dose feeding of Cal-Mag and Liquid Kool Bloom for her next watering. Hopefully, that does the trick because I want her to finish strong. I'm sensing that harvest time is right around the corner (maybe in 2 weeks or so. I will be keeping an eye on the trichomes). More updates to come!

After dealing with some deficiencies last week, I think I've got her back on the right track. I gave her pretty heavy feeding with Maxibloom and Calmag, but I still ended up having to chop a decent amount of leaves. The remaining leaves have started looking better by the day. I also checked the trichomes this morning and they are mostly clear with some milky mixed in. Probably a 70-30 ratio. I will probably give 1 or 2 more feedings and then give nothing but PH water until it’s harvest time.

1 week closer to harvest time. Trichomes are looking mostly milky right now. Still not seeing any amber. I plan on chopping when I start to see about 10% amber trichomes. I'm guessing about 1 more week before that happens. More updates soon.

With my first grow in the books, I am relatively happy with the results. I tried to just learn as much as possible thru trial and error during this grow. I definitely made some errors and I know that it affected my final harvest a bit. Overall I would give myself a 6 or 7 out of 10 for this grow. I feel much more prepared for whatever my next grow might throw at me. I expect that my next grow (Snowcaine) will be even better than this one.

Hey man. So sad about the other plant but it can happens. Now focus on the good one, she looks very nice. In my opinion stay on 20/4, try to reduce a bit RH (if you can easily) and feed her properly. You'll gain a big outcome for sure with that great lamp and great training too.

@SupremeGreenGrows, 3) Since you are already using their products, I would recommend you to buy GHE TRIPART Micro-Grow-Bloom, CalMag, ph down and ph up. Then over time you can add other additives from their line. Follow the tables you see, keeping the proportions but increasing/decreasing the quantities as needed

@SupremeGreenGrows, Hey bro, sorry but I've been really busy the last few days. I'll try to give you some scattered information as they come to mind. 1) First, choose whether you want to use mineral or organic nutrients, the organic are preferable with soil I guess. But in my opinion you should start with the mineral ones because you can be able to keep an eye on the discharge EC and understand if the plants are eating well; 2) Buy an EC pen (15€ Amazon) and a chemical test for PH (5/7€). You must feed your plants with a solution with correct PH and EC

What nutrient are you using for the nitrogen part ?
Newbie87
Newbie87commented2 years ago
@SupremeGreenGrows, I would post a question because I'm unfamiliar with your soil, but I reckon it a bit too rich for auto's. They recommend biobuzz light or similar & then only feeding a quarter dose from week three onwards & gradually building up. I only ask because she's looking a bit on the green side. Introduce bloom at your next feed & ensure you have at least a 10% run off , totally saturating the pot. Start @ 4mls & gradually build the bloom up. Good luck

@Newbie87, She's planted in a 50-50 mix of fox farm happy frog and fox farm ocean forest (plus perlite). I've only given her 2 servings of 1/4 strength Maxibloom and 1 serving of 1/4 strength Calmag (started week 4). I don't really no what I'm doing with the nutrients so I'm keeping them on the conservative side. If you have any advice in regards to the nutrients it would be much appreciated!

Aye keep the one with pollen sacs outside. You don't want a seedbank

@Aldo90, Yeah I'm going to play it safe and keep the Hermie outside and just hope for something halfway decent from it (keeping my expectation low😂). Appreciate the feedback!

Definitely seeing some advanced stages of Calcium deficiency with those orange spots on the leaves. Once is slips away, Calcium is difficult to get back in a timely manner. You may need to Foliar Spray the CalMag for quicker delivery. Also, KoolBloom only has P and K. You will need a more complete nutritional line up for a healthy flowering phase. Most nutrient companies sell their nutes in "parts" where one must purchase several different bottles of solution for a balanced meal.

@NegotiatedBubble, 🙏thank you for taking the time to give me a detailed response! You're awesome!

@SupremeGreenGrows, Maxi bloom looks a lot better for flower and has more nutrients including some nitrogen. Kool bloom is likely a bloom booster and is bundled with FloraMicro, FloraBloom/FloraGro, Floralicious Plus, and CALiMAGic. I happen to mix and match FloraMicro for its micronutrients, but when starting out it is a great idea to stick with the label recommendations including downloading the feeding chart for that line of products. With foliar, always avoid spraying the buds. You can use a foam paint brush to apply the solution to leaves that are close to any buds. Regarding daytime spraying, only a spray application that is oil based will damage leaves with lights on. One example is spraying neem oil during veg. Each droplet becomes a tiny lens that focuses the light similar to using a magnifying glass to ignite a sheet of paper. CalMag does not contain oils and is safe to feed with the lights on. I would foliar earlier in the day to avoid any excess moisture at night.

@NegotiatedBubble, thank you for the tips! I'm assuming when I foliar spray the calmag it should be done during the dark cycle? Also when doing the foliar spray Im guessing that I need to avoid spraying it on the buds (leaves only). Also, I do have some maxi bloom. Would that be a better option currently than the kool bloom? Again thanks for the tips. Your input has made me feel like I have a better plan of action moving forward!
