Germination
I tried germinating three different seeds. Sweet Seeds Sweet Gelato Auto, Sweet Seeds Sweet Trainwreck Auto, and a sample from Mikromachine. Only the Sweet Gelato germinated. I first soaked the seeds overnight on 2/26/23, then rolled the seeds in mycorrhiza and planted them each in a peat pellet under a dome. On 3/4/23, the one seed emerged. I planted it in Happy Frog soil that has been activated with Dutch Clover as a cover crop. Wish me luck!

Not much has changed since it first sprouted 7 days ago. I did not have my light setting correct. First, it was too high; and second the dimmer was set on Minimum. I lowered the light to 12 inches and turned up intensity to 25%. Hopefully will see a difference next week. Also, I'm trying to germinate two more seeds. I soaked them for 24 hours, then in moist coffee filter for 48 hours until the tap root showed, then planted them in peat pots with seed mix and domes. Heat mat is set at 75. Hopefully they will sprout. If so, I will track them in this diary too.

So not much has changed this week growth wise, but I did make changes. First, my lighting was still too weak so I bumped up the intensity to 50% mid week. It helped, but talking to a friend I bumped it up again this morning to 75%. Second, my other two seeds germinated and sprouted, so I added them to the diary. The tent now has the Three Sweet Amigas. I also began giving quarter strength nutrients this week. I like using GD because tracking individual grows helps with learning. Before growing Cannabis, I could barely grow a Tomato plant, which is supposedly one of the easiest vegetables to grow. I say that because Spring is coming, and I am beginning to think about my outdoor grow this year mixed in with the Vegetable Garden.😎 I grew a Cherry Pie earlier in the year, and harvest was 2.5 oz dried bud, but I did not track it in a diary. With these three seedlings, I'm remembering that I had difficulty at this stage for all my plants. I'm definitely getting better at germination and seedlings, which are the most difficult for me. Cheers to growing your own medicine!😇

The girls are beginning to grow now. Sweet Gelato just finished week 3, and Sweet Trainwreck and Bruce Banner are finishing week 2. I'm now out of the danger zone for the two seedlings. This week, I also began low stress training SG.

I am trying out three different training methods. Sweet Gelato finished week 4. I began 'early' LST in week 3 by bending the stalk, and training the shoots as they emerge. Flowering may start this week. Sweet Trainwreck finished week 3. I topped it on day 16, and am training the two main cola stems. Sweet Bruce Banner finished week 3. I began 'late' LST today on day 22 by slightly bending the main stem. It will be interesting to see the results at the end. The clover grows vigorously.

This week, the plant structures are forming. The plants are now getting full strength nutrients including flower fuel. I water every other day, and feed every other watering. It's 1 gallon split three ways. This may sound like a lot of water to some, and I admit to being a habitual over-waterer. To compensate, all of my pots are on plant stands inside the saucer, so my pots are never sitting in water - works for me. This week I also increased the lamp intensity to 100%. Sweet Gelato Auto - week 5, 5 main colas, flowering should begin soon. Low stress training (LST) began early on day 16. Sweet Trainwreck Auto - week 4, 2 main colas. This one was topped (HST) on day 22. Sweet Bruce Banner Auto - week 4, 3 main colas. I began LST on day 22. The clover is an interesting experiment. I read it is supposed to increase Nitrogen intake by the Cannabis plants. I don't know if it actually does anything because I'm not a botanist or knowledgeable on the science. I like the green color though - it's pretty if that matters😇 The only side affect I'm seeing is the emergence of Gnats in my tent. On all of my past indoor grows, I have not had any bugs. I'm not sure if it's the clover though, or something else. The bugs might be related to ventilation. I have sealed all of the screened windows in the tent to contain the smell, and it works pretty good. For my intake, I am using a AC Infinity AXIAL S1238, 120mm Muffin Fan set on low speed. Inside the tent my exhaust is an AC Infinity CLOUDLINE T6, Quiet 6” Inline Duct Fan with speed set to 6 and ducting to outside through a window. I haven't changed the filter since I upgraded the fan a year ago and four grows - so maybe I should change the filter, or at least wash the fabric sleeve. What do you think?

I topped an autoflower plant, and I over trained it. The plant stalk has split between the two main branches that are being trained. I removed the training wire hoping that the plant will heal itself. Is there anything else I should do or put on it to help it heal?

Unfortunately I've just experienced the same thing a week ago 😢. Use some garden wire to keep them together, as long as it didn't break off they should keep growing. During this week, be careful not to not cause any additional stress because it has had enough. Additionally try to keep the environment as clean as possible because an "open wound" is more prone to diseases. Good luck on the rest of your grow and hope you get some big yields.

Sweet Gelato has gone through its stretch phase. This grow I did not raise the light hoping it will result in less space between nodes. Sweet Trainwreck and Bruce Banner are a week behind, so they will probably do their stretching this week. Thanks to @Greenharvest_official for answering my question about Trainwreck splitting. I took your advise, wrapped it with soft wire and it has healed nicely. The two main colas are growing as if nothing happened. 😀

This week, Sweet Gelato continued and finished its stretch, almost tripling in size since week 5. I had to raise the light about 6 inches, and it's now about 10 inches higher than the tallest cola, and about 14 inches to the rest. The other two plants are also coming along nicely. Sweet Trainwreck has healed from the overtraining. I also did some defoliation this week to the lower branches on all plants. Now that they are all flowering, I stopped giving them they Myco+. Enjoying watching them grow!😎

The three sweet amigas are all maturing nicely. There are some yellow leaves under the canopy, but other than that they are looking sweet! No defoliation anymore - just letting the lower leaves drop as they yellow and die. The buds are now stacking on both Sweet Gelato (SG) and Sweet Trainwreck (STW). Sweet Bruce Banner (BB) is a little late on her blooming, but looking good. This is actually only 3/4 of a week, as I will be traveling. I've got my watering bags hooked up for a slow drip over the next four days. I've run a test already, so they should be fine. Also, the gnats are all gone now. Check in next week. Cheers to growing!

At the end of last week, I had to go out of town. So for watering, I setup a watering bag with drip emitters to each plant. When I returned home, all three were doing great. Normal feeding this week with flower fuel, and I also began adding blackstrap mollasses - which is supposed to help sweeten the taste once dried and cured. Happy growing!😇

Sweet Gelato (SG) is really getting fat and dense. Sweet Bruce Banner (SBB) may get fatter than SG, and is only a week behind. Sweet Trainwreck (STW) is on the same schedule as SBB. Not as fat, but definitely doing good. I am very happy with this grow. It might be my best yet.😎

All three are doing good. The trichomes on SG are milky but not yet amber - or so I can tell. Both SBB and STW are one week behind in terms of growth, and SBB is definitely filling out more than STW. SG (Sweet Gelato) overall day 77, flower day 44 SBB (Sweet Bruce Banner) and STW (Sweet Trainwreck) are both overall day 70, flower day 37.

All is smelly in Sweet Amigaland 😇 Sweet Gelato (SG) is furthest along at day 84 since germination. She is nearly ready, and I will probably harvest in a few days. I began flushing her at the beginning of this week. Sweet Bruce Banner (SBB) and Sweet Trainwreck (STW) are a week behind at day 77, and I will give them another week. STW looks to be taking longer though, so I'll give her two more weeks before harvesting.

Sweet Gelato Auto is one of three plants grown together. She was the first seed to germinate, and was a week earlier than the other two. Harvest was on day 87 from germination, and day 52 of flowering. For the Sweet Amiga sisters, I tried three types of training. Sweet Gelato was 'early' LST which I began at week 3 when still a seedling. The structure slowly took shape and the results are awesome. Also, for those who may remember, I fucked up my last grow (818 Headband) by defoliating very heavily right after flowering. This time, I only defoliated slightly. Other things which may have helped was the under crop of Clover - this was intended to help roots with extra nitrogen. All in all, I'm very happy with this grow. Without a doubt, it is my best yet. Thanks Grow Diaries for providing a platform in which hobby growers can learn from each other and grow the finest medicine.

So it seems I'm feeling rushed to finish out this grow. Both of these plants are at day 84 overall and day 52 of flower. They're getting close, and I stopped feeding a week ago. I pulled them out this morning thinking of harvesting, and decided to harvest a little of each plant and let them grow another week. I think they're still too early. What do you think? I tried two different types of training on these plants. Bruce Banner was Low Stress Training at week 4 and 5. Sweet Trainwreck was topped at week 4, and the stalk split but healed nicely. I want to see if there's any difference in training. Although, for the experiment I probably should have used the same strain. Experimentation is also why I harvested a third of each plant today - because I want to see if the effects are different between early and mid harvest. Stay tuned...another week ahead.

Sweet Trainwreck was the third amiga in the tent. It grew very nicely through vegetation and early flower. This plant was topped in Week 4, and then in Week 6 suffered a split stalk. I bound it together with garden wire, and it healed. The end result were twin towers full of buds. I may have over fed, and the yellowing of leaves could have been from nutrient lock out. I'm not sure, but I will try feeding less next time.
