9/11/18- Noticed spots on the leaves. I thought she could go a week or two more before adding nutes but I guess not. The spots may be due to using a spray bottle but more likely its a deficiency. Added Epsom salt and very light nutes. Will increase the GB to 1/2 tsp next feeding and BOLO any adverse effect.
9/13/18 She seems to be bouncing back and jumped in height a bit. Shes looking pretty rough due to the quick deficiency so soon after breaking the surface.
9.15.18 Shes looking pretty roughed up but is growing and the new leaves look healthy without spots or noticeable deficiencies. Maybe still a bit pale but the Epsom salt did help. Bought cal-mag and will start an updated feed regimen. I am really surprised at how little nutrients Happy Frog has. I knew it was less than OF but it apparently is pretty neutral. Maybe the 50/50 mix of OF and HF with Perlite is a good combo to have an all around soil to use from start to finish.
9/16/18 Fed her again very lightly with the nutes listed above. Bought Cal-Mag Plus so knocked out the Epsom salt. Fed only 300ml of solution around plant as the pot is still heavy at the bottom.
9/17/18 Took feeding well. she looks much better with new leaves showing no deficiencies. the last set of leaves show a little of the deficiency but as a whole appear fairly healthy. I will wait to see how the emerging leaves look before adjusting the feeding schedule if at all.
Being an auto I don't know how much, if at all, the deficiency will affect the grow because the life cycle is so fast..
Any ideas what to do with her? She’s supposed to be auto but seems more semi auto. LOL.
Will she turn the corner if I flip the lights to 12/12? I’m just waiting for her sister to finish then need to flip the lights for my photos.
Resiliant Gorl, ive been looking through your diary and see Overwatering, overnuting, lockouts, heatstress etc. Tough Girl. Give her Time to flower and she will give you a Harvest. No Huge one but A Harvest.
She's looking like shes almost done stretching and getting ready to make some serious buds , the cool thing about autos is you dont have to switch the lights you can just leave them on 24 hours a day if you'd like and the plant will still flower . How ever your photos will not haha . If you think your photo's are ready to go into flower then you can flip your lights to 12-12 but other then that you shouldnt have to worry about that with your auto's . I might also suggest to adjust your levels of Big bloom that seems like quite the amount for the mix you have its likely going to cause you locks outs and burns if you keep feeding it with that high of concentration . All in all your doing really well and i wouldnt really change anything except for your bloom solution but at the end of the day if its working for you then go with it . I hope this information helps you ! -Happy Growing!
Looking back a couple of weeks, you can tell that your plant is in the preflower / stretch phase, soon it will stop growing and it will focus on making buds. Careful with all the nutes you are giving it.
9/18/18. Watered well with nutes. Wanted to give a good feed again since she was so deficient at sprout.
9/20/18 Plant took second feeding well with not adverse signs so far. She jumped at least a quarter inch since. Starting to branch out a lot and starting to take shape.
Question- Should I just cut off the messed up lower leaves or leave them and let them die on their own.
9/26/18. This plant has not done well since it sprouted. I planted 5 seeds, only this and #5 sprouted. Called CKS and talked at length with the staf and they were awesome enough to ship a new batch. Even the #5 has a strange thing with one of its leaves.
I'm going to give it a bit more time and unless some miracle occurs she will be pulled in a day or two. I have 4 clones rooting (3 from my clone and one from the BI 1) so I need the room. She will be replaced with at least one of them.
Auto's seem very different than photo's. I will obviously see how #5 runs and I will eventually run the 5 replacement seeds but I think I might stick with photo's in the future.
Shes still trying. She started throwing preflower several days ago but didn't have a single branch. Suddenly today I looked and she popped overnight. Bizarre and shes still throwing crummy leaves.
10/8/18. She suddenly popped and I have basically left her to her own devices. She finally got some branches and is trying to throw flower. Shes definitely not pretty but she has been trying and against better judgement for now shes staying. I don't need the room and Im curious as to how she will turn out. I switched her to flowering nutes and fed her slowly.
10/16/18 I haven't really given much info in this journal. This plant is just messed up from start to finish. She literally had no branches for the longest time and then overnight they appeared and she has been trying her best. Space is getting tight but she only has a few weeks left and I'm interested to see what, if any, result will be. I'm assuming nothing but popcorn but if it ripens then I will use it for oil or butter. There's something so messed up with this plant and the other plant is running very well. However this was a pack of seeds I had an issue with. Of course CKS in all their awesomeness guided me through and provided excellent customer service.
I did try feeding her, it was twice in a row...I wanted to get some bloom nutes in her...she doesn't look too happy but no burn. I will just water her the next time the pot is light.
11/15/18. This plant exists as a curiosity at this point. I have no idea what is going on with her.
I just got Jacks Classic Veg and Bloom so I figured whatever. Fed her a weak bloom dose of 1/4 tsp per gallon with 2 ml calmag and 2 ml silica. Let’s see what happens. (On a side note i fed my thanksgiving and Christmas cacti with the leftover juice and they are now standing straight up and happy as can be
