Hello. This is the start of Gorilla Face. I think Gorilla Glue was crossed with Face Off but Advanced Seeds doesn't say so. I can't see why they would add the Face if it wasn't. I plan to use the best male for breeding in the greenhouse with 11 Roses by Delicious Seeds. What would you call the cross, Rosie Faced Gorilla? This is supposed to be a strong strain with relaxing powers. This is Advanced Seeds remake of the Gorilla Glue. Making it a bit stronger and with a bigger terpene profile. To save me some typing 😊 please see the seed description on this site under Advanced Seeds. 24% to 30% THC - Yes Please!!! Keep Growing Straight. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of germination and the beginning of week 1 of veg. These are regular seeds. I hope to get the males/pollen to cross with my 11 Roses I'll be growing in the greenhouse this summer. The females I'll put in my inside tents to finish off. Hope they are good. Both strains are Indica's and both have a earthy/fruity taste and smell with this strain tasting more like chocolate. I have a old book I want to show with this diary. It's going for One Hundred Thirty Five dollars on Amazon Books. It's called - Sea of Green - The Perpetual Harvest - Step by step, Easy to follow instructions on the easiest Marijuana Growing process ever. Written by "Hans". It's a High Times Book printed in 1998 and I'll show a few pages each week. Just zoom in to read. Just want to help you grow good Cannabis. Keep Growing Straight. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 1 and the beginning of week 2 of veg. These plants were in a room that was coolish. So they got a bit leggy and stretchy. No problem. These are regular seeds and will have to be sexed and I can do that at around 8 to 10 weeks. These males will be used to make seeds with the strain -11 Roses, and other clones I have on hand. After they are sexed the females will go into a indoor tent to finish off while the males will go out to the green house to grow some more under lights. Starting a new Grow book for you to learn from. Printed in 1998 so the lighting and fertilizers will be different than today, but the way the plants grow, is the same. I'll show 4 pages each week. Just here to help you grow Cannabis well. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 2 and the beginning of week 3 of veg. The plants are doing good. These are regular seeds and will need to be sexed. I will be harvesting some plants soon and I can put these plants in the warmer, brighter tent then. After they show their sex the females will stay in the tent and the best male will be used for breeding. I'm always looking for a good male cannabis plant. My criteria for males is; the shorter the better, With the rub test and smell the fingers- the most sticky/slippery and the most smelly. Ok. Take care. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 3 and the beginning of week 4 of veg. Most of the plants are doing well. There is 2 plants that are not doing so well. I think it was too wet when it was a little too cold in the room. I put them in the warm cloning closet when I saw them. They aren't dying, but I'll keep an eye on them and try to cox them back to health. The rest of the plants are coming along nice. These are regular seeds and they still have to be sexed. I'll put them into a tent when the Critical Kush is finished. They will get better light and air movement. Moving along with the book, Sea of Green, by Hans. Published by High Times. My only hope is that you learn something to help you grow well. OK. Thanks for looking in. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 4 and the beginning of week 5 of veg. These are regular seeds and will need to be sexed. Although I've seen plants show early, it's usually around 8 to 10 weeks that a cannabis plant will show what sex it is. If it goes to 12 weeks and the plant still hasn't shown it sex, it's probably a male. The males can hold off showing their sex for a while to trick you into not pulling them up. They are smarter than you think they are. And can be tricky too. 😏 The first plant doesn't look so good. It's struggling, I think because of root problems. I'm trying to let it dry out and just water it a bit for the next while. See if I can get it to start feeling good again. The rest of the plants are doing well. The strain is mostly indica. I put them in the tent with a stronger light to help them grow. I'll give them some stronger food this week. Thanks for looking in. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 5 and the beginning of week 6 of veg. I'm a bit embarrassed about the shape of these plant on this entry. I've been harvesting 2 tents in the last 10 days, so they didn't get the attention that they should have. I also twisted my knee and have been limping around here for the last 5 days. Today I can walk almost normal, so hopefully things will go back to normal too. These plants were wilted when I opened the tent to take pictures. I mixed some seaweed with water to give them a good feed and help with their stress. 😇 Seaweed is great for stress relief and transplant stress. I mix it for the clones too. Soak the medium before you take the clones and use as a foliar spray when they are under the dome. Mix 10 ml per gallon for clones and 30 ml per gallon for everything else. When I mix up some strong food for the girls I always add 1/4 fl. oz. per 5 gallons. There you go. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 6 and the beginning of week 7 of veg. The plants sure look a lot better this week. I took these pictures just before lights out. They have dropped their leaves down for their sleep period. Did some leaf trimming. Took 4 to 6 leaves off the bottom of each plant. That will promote new branch growth in that area. These regular seedlings will usually show their sex around week 8. So I'm waiting for that. The males will go out to the greenhouse to make seeds with the plants out there; 11 Roses by Delicious Seeds and the females will stay in here. I will happily ship free seeds to anyone willing to do a diary on them. Talk to me in September to get your free seeds. With the seeds I made last year I've shipped them all over the world. On to Chapter 3 of the book -Sea of Green by Hans and High Times Publications. I'm posting it to help you grow the best you can grow. Maybe you can find a hack or trick you didn't know. Be Great. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 7 and the beginning of week 8 of veg. At this point in the veg cycle the plants show their sex. When I last watered, I looked with a jewelers loupe at the main stem leaf terminals to see their sex. I found on 4 plants with small male ish looking leafy roundish parts where they show their preflowers, but they can throw out some weird looking leaves on that point too. So, they are probably males, but I shall wait for the actual male flowers to show. You just never know with these hybrid plants these days. And I have plans for these males. 2 females have also shown themselves too!!! There were tear drop shaped preflowers with small pistils on 1 plant and a strange roundish growth on the other that had a pistil sticking out of it? Luckily I have seen this before and know that it is a very early preflower and that = a female. That's 3 plants that still haven't shown their sex yet. Everybody's getting food every 2nd time I water for now. Thanks for looking in. Chuck

Hello. This is the end of week 8 and the beginning of week 9 of veg. I've now got 3 confirmed females, with 2 more that haven't thrown out pistils yet. They have the tear drop shape but no white hairs. That leaves 4 males to do my crosses with. I still don't need pollen for a month, still so there is lots of time. I have some other clones that I would like to get pollinated too. I'm just waiting for them to finish showing me which sex they are. Then they get bigger pots. OK. Be Great. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 9 and the beginning of week 10 of veg. Well, they finally showed me what/who they are. I ended up with 5 females and 4 males. So I hope to, by next time have the females in bigger pots and I'll have them topped for training. The males will be taken out to the greenhouse for breeding. Well, I'll pick out the best one for me and cross it with a few of the 11 Roses I have growing out there. The breeders description said 24% to 30% THC. So these males should add some strength to the crossing and make some good seeds. 😊 We are continuing with the book Sea of Green by Hans and High Times Publishing. We are in the middle of the book where they show the color pictures. I've also add something I read this week about trimming and pruning. ✂️ Hope it helps. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 10 and the beginning of week 11 of veg. There's been some changes since last week. The females got repotted and the males go out to the greenhouse for seed production. They got repotted too. Gave everyone a big soaking today. Some of these girls look a little yellow so they will get some food on the next watering. I've got to put in the tomato cages this week and start some training on these females. There is a page missing in the book. One of the colored pictures. I remember making into a 'iron on' picture for my t-shirt. It was a full picture of a outdoor field. The picture was full of buds. I took the bud picture and made a heading, asking, "Do you want some Bubble Gum?" and under the picture I put, "No thanks, I've got White Widow!!!" 😁 I wore that t-shirt out!!! So on with the book. We start Chapter 6 this time. Have fun. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 11 and the beginning of week 12 of veg. Man, I got some sad looking plants. 😞 They haven't been watered since my last entry, last week. I gave them all a big drink of water to get the new soil wet. But I guess the plants roots were a bit too small still and they got too much water that the soil held on to for too long. It's my own fault, and I should know better. The funny thing is 2 of the plants liked it, and are green, and are growing good. But 4 look overwatered. I've been waiting for them to dry more before I give food for the yellowing and red center veins on the leaves. I'll get my nutrients up next week and I'll start feeding them regular from now on and getting them back to healthy. I'll get the tomato cages on the pots this week and try to start some training, if the plants feel up to it. Have Fun. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 12 and the beginning of week 13 of veg. Just noticed that it's been 2 years that I've been on this site. This is my 21st diary. Man?? What have I done to these plants. I neglected them and then gave them too much water in a big pot being impatient and wanting them to grow. Man if I'm not impatient, I'm procrastinating. 😒 I gave some food this week and some of the plants look better with some green leaves growing now. But 2 still look unhappy. All 6 plants have got the same treatment, but 2 look good, and 2 are recovering and 2 look yellow still. I haven't made this mistake in years. I put the dehumidifier in the tent to help dry the pots. I'll have to watch the 2 healthy plants to make sure they don't wilt. I was wondering if I got some of that clay, non scented, cat litter that soaks up water, if that would pull some of the water out of the soil if I put it on top. It would be easy to dump out or spoon out and the plants wouldn't mind a bit of clay in the soil. Might give that a try. Sorry I forgot to include some of the pages of Sea of Green by Hans. I'll make sure they are there next week. Be Great. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week13 and the beginning of week 14 of veg. Man, these plants are being fussy. The pots are dry now and they have had food, and they are still partly yellow. I'll try trimming the yellow leaves off and see if that starts some new growth. Still waiting for the mainlines to get some branches going up. They look rather bleak with no inner branches. The branch ends have turned up and they are looking a bit more lively but 3 are still not happy. And the males I took out to the greenhouse are acting funny too. With the males there should have been some preflowers by now, but nothing. These males don't have much of a smell as well and they aren't very sticky to the rub test either. I was hoping for a short male, but they are all tall like some of the females are going to be. I was reading this article and wanted to make some for myself. It's harmless and it works of fungus, I'll try that. So I bought one. They said to start with 1/2 strength indoors. Have fun. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 14 and the beginning of week 15 of veg. OK. Looks like I got green plants again but the lead ends are too long now. I'll have to do some more trimming and training this week before they can be put into flowering. I made up some nutrient last week and added some extra Cal-Mag, and I think that's what got them back to being green again. I'll trim them up and let them heal. I'll probably go into flowering next week. Keep growing straight. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 15 and the beginning of week 16 of veg. These plant are green again. I did some topping of the long branches and some pruning under the branches, anything growing down was taken off. So, I wait a couple of more days, to get these topped branches to heal and start to grow again, and then I'll turn them over to flowering. This strain has taken me on a bit of a ride so far. Hope they turn out good. On one of my city's used stuff site they have a free section. I got a work bench for free and set up a work station by my tents. I finally got my inline fan set up to blow the exhaust air over the dehumidifier to control the Relative Humidity (RH) better. Be Great. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of the veg cycle and the first week of flowering cycle. These plants are looking good now. It took a while for them to heal, but they are looking good now. I've put 3 plants in one tent and 3 plants in the other. I'm trying not to bring in the spider mites that I've got in the greenhouse. When I come in from the greenhouse or the garden I swipe/brush over all my clothes and hair and beard just to make sure I'm not carrying any little pest past the back door. With open hands I wipe over all my clothes to kill the soft body insects. I even wipe my back on the door frame to get where I can't reach. OK. These girls are going into flowering now. The seed description said they taste like chocolate. I hope it's a sweet milk chocolate taste and not the bitter dark chocolate type. I forgot to take pictures of the book Sea of Green that we've been following. I'll put up some extra pictures of it next week. Best wishes to all. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 1 and the beginning of week 2 of flowering. Things are going good in here. Made one mistake this week. When I was putting in the program into the timer for the 12/12 hours for flowering, I left the light on, in the tent on the right for 5 days before I caught the mistake. So 3 of these plants will be behind the others by a week or so. 😒 Man, I hate it when I fuck up. Everything is going well in here. The plant now have lots of growing tips for lots of top buds.

Hello. This is the end of week 2 and the beginning of week 3 of flowering. Looks like these plants will be stretchy. I can see how much they are stretching up from last weeks pictures. I'll need to get in here this week and trim/prune up the plants in the left tent. They are a week ahead of the other tent. When I separated the plants into 2 tents for flowering (12 and 12), I left one light on (24) for 5 days before I caught the mistake. So 3 plants are a week behind the other 3 plants. 🤦‍♂️ I started these plants for the males, to do some breeding, in the greenhouse, with the 11 Roses that are growing there. I wasn't pleased with the males and they were all put down. They had almost no smell and were tall/stretchy and had almost no stickiness to them when I did the rub test. They also had no preflowers. I usually use the preflowers to make my seeds with. So we will see how the females will preform. Hopefully better than the males. What a week I just had. I harvested my greenhouse and it took me 6 days to cut down and wet trim, 6 plants. 2 - 14 hour days, 2 - 12 hour days, one 10 hour day and one 5 hour day. What a marathon. 🏃‍♂️ But I'm glad it over. I still have to put the last 3 plants into the curing paper bags, but I had to do this diary today. More pics of the book, Sea of Green - by Hans and High Time publishing. Best Wishes. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 3 and the beginning of week 4 of flowering. Reminder: the left tent is about a week ahead of the right tent. I messed up when I switched to flowering. I got in here a few days ago and did a final trim/prune. My method is to take off enough to just be able to see through the plant to the wall or floor. Don't take off too much. I also look down through the top of the plant and take off any fan leaves that block the light from penetrating to the secondary buds. Don't take all the fan leaves off leave some. I usually trim up before the end of the third week but with the 2 tents being a week apart my schedule was off a bit. These girls are stretching now. That's a lot of stretching for an indica. I can see why the males were so tall. I don't need taller plants so I didn't make seeds with the males. The resin is just starting on the plants in the left tent. I did the, "rub the plant and smell my fingers test" to find a potting soil, earthy type of smell. These girls are growing strong now. They are getting a full nutrient solution every second watering and dechlorinated water every other time. It's about 4 days before they are dry enough for the next watering. Be Great. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 6 and the beginning of week 7 of flowering. I haven't posted for a couple of weeks because I a little pissed at grow Diaries. I've participated on here for years and all of a sudden 1/2 my pictures are downloaded sideways. Tried to rotate them and when I hit save they go back sideways. 😠 It's a bit of work to make a diary and your pissing me off by letting this happen. Ok. got my bitch out. Hi. Things are doing good in here. Remember the left tent is a week ahead of the right tent. I made a mistake when I switched to flowering (12/12). I don't think these plants are going to be that strong. Looking at the resin pattern forming on the leaves I can see that the 11 Roses has more on the lower bud leaves than the Gorilla face does. These are finicky plants too. I didn't take clones of this strain. I probably won't regrow any of them. The smell on these plants range from earthy to potting soil. We are near the end of the book Sea of Green by Hans and High times Publishing. Ok. Best of luck. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 7 and the beginning of week 8 of flowering. The left tent is at the start of 8 weeks and the right tent is a week behind. I made a mistake when I flipped to flowering. Some of the plants have buds that are starting to head to the floor. I like to flush, so I will start flushing in the left tent, next watering. By the look of the resin glands I can see these plants are going to be about average strength.. They don't have overly amounts of resin. We are at the end of the book; Sea Of Green by Hans and High Times Publishing. Hope it had something in it that you can use. Be Great. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 8 and the beginning of week 9 of flowering. The left tent has one more week of flushing and the right tent has just started it's 2 weeks of flushing. These are finicky plants. I won't say hard to grow, just finicky. If I had been growing this strain for awhile, I could dial it in and do better, but there is a lot of yellowing leaves at this stage. I'll post the last pictures of before the harvest next week. These plants will be harvested at 9 weeks of flowering. I was a bit disappointed this week. Last year, after a good harvest I offered free seeds to people on this site. I had 7 people who wanted seeds. It was cheap to mail the seeds. Just a 3 dollar stamp on each envelope. But I was hoping a couple of people would do a diary or two with the free seeds. I tried to look up the diaries of the people I sent seeds to, to give likes and comments, only to find all of them are not doing diaries at all, and with their last visit more than 8 months ago? The only person to start a diary was Tubington9 and he stopped reporting before going into flowering? and hasn't been back for 7 months? I hope he's OK. Oh well, life is like that. Have Fun. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of plants 1 and 2 of Gorilla Face and 1 plant of 11 Roses. Plants 3 ; 4 and 5 will be harvested next week. The smell of these plants is sort of a -Mr. Clean (cleaning product) and sweet floral with the chocolate smell coming in the background. All the plants are leaning over now, Not a bad problem to have. The 11 Roses is doing good too with a sort of sweet mango-ish smell. I'll try to show a few pictures of plants 3 - 4 and 5 next week before harvesting them. Pulled out some seed for the next diary's. I'll try Blackberry Gum by Seed Stockers and Purple Cherry by Positronic seeds. They are a couple of years old, so I don't know if they will pop, but I'll give it a good try. I think I'll try boil the water first (and letting it cool) before soaking the seeds. I think one of the biggest reasons seeds sometimes stop sprouting and rot is the fungus Pythium Root Rot (see pic). It's spoors are in the water and chlorine won't kill them. It's harmless to us though. Ok see you next week. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of Gorilla Face by Advanced seeds. I cut down plants 1 and 2 last week. Because I made a mistake at the 12/12 switch, these plants were a week behind plants 1 and 2. These plants are growing fine, and we got some color in plant #3. I showed a close up of plant #3 to show an average amount of resin crystals. I don't think these plants are going to be as strong as the breeders description said they are going to be. I was disappointed with the males too. I bought regular seeds to do some breeding in the greenhouse, but the males had very little smell or stickiness to them when I did the rub the stem and smell the fingers test. Unless they have outstanding chocolate taste these plants will probably be turned into hash. I'm liking the dry ice with the bubble bags type of hash making method. Take a plastic bucket with a lid that fit inside the bubble bags. Put your buds and trim in the bucker and about 3 chunks of dry ice about the size of 1/2 your fist and put the lid on and let it sit for about 10 minutes, then shake it up for a minute. Take the lid off and put the bag on so the screen is over the opening. turn the bucket/bag over and shake over a glass tabletop or window laid flat. And you will need something to scrape up the piles of kief. Plants 1 and 2 are already in the curing bags and will be ready in a week or so. Be great. Chuck.

Happy Harvest Day!

Hello. This is the Harvest report for Gorilla Face By Advanced Seeds. I bought 10 regular seeds, hoping to do some breeding in the greenhouse this summer. This was a finicky/hard to grow- strain right from the start. I got 5 females. The males had very little smell and hardly any stickiness on the stock with the rub test. I didn't like any of them for breeding. So I didn't make seeds this year. Disappointed. The females had some overwatering problems earlier but preformed well. Lots of medium sized buds on each plant. I didn't find any male flowers or bananas on the females at harvest. The females all had about the same amount of buds. I think this is a stable strain. The females weren't any stronger than average. 16% to 21% THC is my best guess. The flavor is good and sweet with earthy notes. Only one plant had a hint of very fruity chocolate in it. The rest had hints of pine, spices, citrus and herbs. Overall I found this a average strain, not up to the breeders description of 24% to 30% THC. Nice flavor though. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of Gorilla Face. I got this strain to do some breeding in the greenhouse this summer, but was disappointed with the males so that never happened. The females grew finicky. They got some yellow leaves even though they got the same treatment as all my other plants. There was some overwatering symptoms when it got the same treatment as the other plants. The THC on these plants are from 16% to 21% I think I'll make some hash out of it. I ordered a small Pollinator 150 to make hash with it. Plant #1 Wet Weight - 861 g Dry Weight - 106 g Plant #2 Wet Weight - 858 g Dry Weight - 122 g Plant #3 Wet Weight - 1156 g Dry Weight - 126 g Plant #4 Wet Weight - 1043 g Dry Weight - 118 g Plant #5 Wet Weight - 1127 g Dry Weight - 120 g 1 Plant of 11 Roses This plant was stronger than the Gorilla Face strain seeds I got. Wet Weight - 1032 g Dry Weight - 122 g This strain didn't live up to the breeders' description I didn't take clones and I won't grow this again. Chuck.
