This week was rough 😓
After setting up my new Ebb and Flow system, I filled the 60 gallon reservoir and ran it for a few weeks to test. Since it's so large, I figured changing the nutrients every 2 weeks would be fine. After draining and adding the nutrients, I noticed a decent amount of particles floating in the reservoir. I decided it was fine and ran it as is. The next day, Londonchello was slumped over 😱
After going through everything I realized that my water smelled like a fish tank. I drained the system again and found a good amount of brown build up at the bottom of the reservoir. I bleached everything and started with fresh water and new nutrients.
Lessons learned -
1. Changing solution weekly is probably safer
2. The reservoir needs to be cleaned weekly
Despite the rough week the clones are still alive and most of them have started producing new leaves (except Hippie). The Londonchello that slumped over is being supported in hopes she stands back up.
Seedlings are doing well! Three popped without issue but a few took longer shedding the outer shell and opening completely. The seedlings weren't affected by the tainted water in the reservoir since they haven't been placed into the hydroponic system with the clones yet and have only received pure water.
