August 13 Long time since a post ...apologies. #1 got split in half a few weeks ago..literally looked like a bomb hit it...I tied and ace bandaged it up and it has seem to be doing fine. They are in full bloom right now. #4 is moving quicker than #1, probably because #1 takes longer to flower so the development is slower. From the buds and hairs I'm guessing that they started sometime in the last week of July and have been going for at least 20 days now. #4 is stripped and defoliated to where I like it. I removed all the branches that weren't producing and defoled..leaving a limited amount of fans. Increasing the Tiger Bloom today to 600ppm from 450ppm. Hopefully they respond well. This week I will be switching from Open Seseme to Beastie Blooms, 1/2 teaspoon. I've been fighting bugs..so I released 3000 lady bugs a few days ago...they are still here yet the numbers are falling to the hundreds. Great results..no leaf hoppers of fungus gnats or aphids to be seen so far. The lady bugs laid eggs on the netting so hopefully another round of lady bugs will kill off the pests. The plants are looking like they have stopped stretching. I'm guessing they're at Day 20 or 3 weeks. #4 is going to be 8-9 weeks...#1 a little longer at 9-11 weeks. This puts me at the last week of September for #4 and mid-October for #1 but we'll see. Besides the birds, bugs, and weather..they have been doing good. These plants are massive for a city backyard but they are fitting in nicely with the garden next to it. I will post each week after this and stay on top of the Days and Development.

I built a little hut for my ladybugs. I put a little honey and a small bowl of water with paper towel in it so they didn't dround. I really don't think those are ladybug eggs. Seems to fast for them to lay eggs. Also when they lay eggs the ladybugs are huge. Twice the size of a regular lady.

Are you sure those are lady bug eggs. They don't look like the ladybug eggs I had. Unless it's the camera yours look very round. Mine looked elongated, a thin oval.

That is 1 nice plant, she is sexting. Damn bugs can be a nightmare. This year I'm trying bug netting. Will see how it goes. The netting will also keep ladybugs in if i need them. Next year I'm putting all my plants under under the bug netting. Vegetables. I like the bucket trick to keep the netting up. Well good luck.
