Transplant all went ok, had started them in jiffy pucks, then moved to peat moss then final move into expanded clay.
Decided last minute to add another 6 pots.. so will have to flip reasonably early I expect to avoid overcrowding the scrip net.
1st week and no dramas.. topped a few that had gotten to the fifth node, will start LST in a couple of days.
Need to hookup my chiller as water temps 2 degrees higher than I’d like. And I will have to build a humidifier soon too. And I also have to hookup the aircon unit in the next week or so.
This has been smooth sailing this week.. plants needing minimal attention, gave a foliar feed with a weak cal/mag/nitrogen mix. Am about to drop the tank and flush for a day and then redose with nutes. Trialing a bi-weekly flush this time.. see how it goes.
This week has been troublesome.. had a plant show severe wilt/droop one morning and despite being proactive in trying to revive it.. I am losing the battle. I have isolated that plant and another that is looking similar thinking some possible root pathogen issue to blame.. however I ended up floating one out and examining the roots and can’t see or smell any sign of rot.. it’s got me puzzled, for now they are isolated in plant hospital.
Good week, I think I am done tucking the scrog for this run, screen has filled out reasonably well and am happy with all the room variables. I did add some beneficial bacteria as my ph spiked a few times and my res tank felt a little slimy.. so fingers crossed that takes care of that.
Week has been ok, did what I’m guessing was the final tuck into the Scrog net. Will give another couple of weeks and then do second defoliation.
Managed to control what was probably a pythium outbreak.. used great white enzymes and another enzyme/bacteria mix and it cleared up and ph stabilised within a day or so.
Had a disaster this week.. I had to head away for a few days, left a friend to manage things.. had the light timers pack it in, and then reprogrammed completely wrong, also had one of my return lines for my dehumidifier unplugged and had 20L of water spilled all over my floor and electrical gear. My poor girls were so stressed when I got back they had mutated a few new leaves.
Not happy.
I’m starting flush today, plan on flushing for min 2 weeks.. some say don’t worry about it, I say you do you, I’ll do me.
Had a look at some samples under the scope today and saw some nice milky clusters on there, not a lot of amber yet but after two weeks I expect they will be right.
I have also decided to dial the lights back 50% and dropped the temps down in the room and also in the res tank.
Bit sad this week, my Jack herer which was showing so much promise was riddled with mould.. I was planning on revegging her and keeping her as a mother as well.. but I get the feeling with the amount of infection she had that she is too susceptible and not worth keeping. So sad.
Has been a bit of a poor finish to this grow actually.. I tried adding some Epsom salts to bring out the terpines and think I overdid it and caused a big lockout as I have had rapid yellowing crop wide.. it’s either that or the plants don’t like the UV I have added for an hour in the morning and at night. I can’t put it down to senescent yellowing as it was too rapid and prolific.
Lessons learnt.. don’t be lazy when it comes to pruning: lose the leaves and undergrowth
Don’t add two new things to the grow area at once as it makes it difficult to measure/isolate the effects/symptoms on the plants.
