With some, I will top or use Fimming, I will combine it with LST and in the end, I will set up a SCROG net, let’s see where the journey will go, I’m already very curious and excited. The growth could be a little better, that’s probably because I haven’t added any nutrients to the watering yet. This time I’m using a different soil, usually, I’ve used Canna soil. I wanted to use a different one for this grow, this time I have soil from Hesi. This soil is pre-fertilized just like the one from Canna. With Canna soil, the nutrients last for 4 weeks, while Hesi only lasts for 3 weeks. That means I’ll have to add nutrients during the next watering, maybe my beauties will get a boost from that, we’ll see. The little ones still need a week before I can start training. There’s not much to say yet, the little Sunset Sherbert girls have developed very well so far and look healthy and lively. I will start training in a week. This week I began adding nutrients. I won’t prolong the vegetative phase too long as I’ve noticed a few issues in the grow room. Therefore, I will only top the plants once and send them into flowering after the rest period. I suspect I have a fungus in the grow room, and the fungus gnats are back as well, so I will keep this run as short as possible so I can completely disinfect and clean everything. Gruenerfinger85 Hello my friends at Growdiaries. Now it's time, I switched the light from 18/6 to 12/12 at the end of week 5 of growth. Unfortunately, I'm not completely satisfied with this run so far; I don't know if it's because I didn't add Hesi Root Complex to the watering or if I just got some bad seeds. I think both play a small role. If it were due to not adding the Root Complex, then all the plants would show problems, but they don't. Well, this week I defoliated all the plants and did Low Stress Training on almost all of them. I will administer growth nutrients for one more week, and in the second week of flowering, I will start giving flowering nutrients. As you can see in the pictures, the buds have developed very quickly; the little beauties took less than 7 days, no, they were there within 4 days. This is the fastest I've experienced in my short growing time so far. We'll see if the nutrient issue will stabilize again. Until then, it's tea time and waiting. Gruenerfinger85 Hello Growdiaries Community. The little plants have had a successful week and have completed the early flowering stage. Thanks to the LST training, the buds have developed very well. And I am extremely satisfied with the development of the buds. Unfortunately, I discovered a huge problem with my plants. This problem is quite simple to solve! Namely, by grabbing the affected plants and throwing them out upright. Because I unfortunately had to find out that out of 9 plants, 4 are hermaphrodites. It's a shame that so many are affected; firstly, all the plants have developed very well, and secondly, a lot of time and dedication has gone into them. It's very unfortunate, but this problem can't be changed, except to make the best out of it. I also took quick action with the plants, without experimenting, as it can quickly backfire if you leave the affected plants with the others and try to cut off the bananas from the affected plants. The little remainder of plants I have left will be trained for another week. After that, I will remove the sun sails from the plants so that the energy goes into the formation of the buds. It has been a very nerve-wracking week, and I hope I won't discover any more bananas. Thank you for your time and interest. Hi my esteemed visitors, I warmly welcome you to my garden. Sorry that I'm a bit behind with this diary, somehow I completely forgot about it. Luckily, I keep two diaries so I can always look back and see what happened when. Now this little beauty has reached the third week of flowering, and she looks very good for her current life cycle. It seems that the plant 🌱 is very happy in her current phase and environment, the buds are developing very well. The humidity is in the optimal range, just like the room temperature. Unfortunately, one of the fans broke down, but luckily I had a replacement. That would have been a total disaster if I hadn't had a spare. Currently, I'm trying out a nutrient additive from Advanced Nutrients Big Bud, and it seems like the plants are handling the additive well. For being only in the third week of flowering, they look solid and compact. I can't see any difference in size. Since the outside temperatures have risen, the temperature in the grow room is also higher, so I have to water almost every two days. I'll be watering twice a week with nutrients and once with pH-adjusted water. I didn't need to continue the LST training; it was enough to correct and align the growth pattern once. I just have to remove a few leaves here and there, otherwise nothing needs to be corrected. So that's it for now from this lady, she is growing and thriving as she should. Not much to write, on one hand, it's nice because that means everything is going as it should. 😮‍💨 It has to be good sometimes; I've had enough problems with this run, and that's just how it goes because otherwise, you wouldn't learn anything. With every success comes a failure, as long as it's in a healthy ratio. In my opinion, that's just part of it; after all, they say, "You learn from mistakes." 😉 However, I must inform you that more plants are affected than initially thought. I could clearly see that three more plants have started producing seeds. Even though the energy is now focused on seed production, I have to admit that the buds look very potent. However, I believe that appearance doesn't play a huge role in this context; you can only say whether the flowers are potent when a) you smoke them or b) you test them in a lab, which unfortunately isn't available to me at the moment. 🤣😂 Maybe soon! 🙃😉 Aside from all that, I'm quite satisfied with everything, as my ladies could have been affected much worse. I have no problem collecting a few seeds out of the ordinary. Two plants seem to be ripe already; I believe it's the Monster Bud Kush strain from Zamnesia, as this strain is listed with a flowering time of 53 days. The other two strains, Sunset Sherbert and Cookies, still need at least 4 more weeks, which tells me that these plants have been spared from cross-pollination. 😮‍💨 I can now observe how the buds are getting thicker day by day, and the flowers and stigmas are starting to swell so they can catch the pollen better. Otherwise, I hope everything goes back to its usual course and that I am spared from further surprises. We'll see what surprises this grow has in store for us. I can slowly narrow down which plant belongs to which strain. The good thing is that the Monster Bud Kush has a very short flowering time, so it's easier to assign the plants. The flowering period has been relatively calm and consistent, aside from the initial problems I had with cross-pollination. What I know now is that you shouldn't irritate these ladies too much. Otherwise, they can start to act up and begin to hermaphrodite. Also, they want your full attention; otherwise, they'll get upset. I'm grateful that I could gain this experience and now know what to pay attention to with this strain. The stigma hairs are starting to turn brown, and many trichomes are already cloudy; I've also spotted some amber ones. That's why I'll start flushing from the next watering. Growing Information: Sunset Sherbet is an indica-dominant hybrid strain that thrives well indoors, outdoors, in soil, and hydroponics. It is a fairly compact plant with short internodal distances, but it can grow quite tall with enough space and substrate. Sunset Sherbet grows quickly and tends to develop a very dense foliage during the vegetative period. Most growers believe it responds very well to topping/Fimming as well as LST. We strongly recommend regularly pruning and defoliating Sunset Sherbet to help it maximize its light source. If you are an experienced grower, consider main-lining and lollipopping to maximize your yield. Every other day, I check the trichomes, and I have to say that the heads look very ripe. I’ll give the plants a maximum of one week, then they can be chopped. Since the beginning of this week, I haven't added any nutrients to the watering. I hope there aren't too many seeds in these plants, but I assume there will be a few in one or another. A few days ago, I harvested two Super Silver Haze plants, and they were literally infested with seeds. I must admit that they were standing right next to the hermaphrodite plants, so they got the worst of it. I didn't count completely, but it must be around 400-500 seeds. Gruenerfinger85 Hello my garden friends. The day of days has arrived, at the end of week 11 on day 78 this beauty was harvested. This grow was a rollercoaster, but luckily it ended more on a high note than a low one. This strain is not suitable for beginners, that's my opinion because you need to know how to handle this lady. She can quickly make your life difficult if you can't read the signs correctly. But if you do everything right and know how to deal with her, then I think there's a lot of potential. The yields aren't the biggest, but the buds are nice and compact and heavy, the leaf-to-bud ratio is very good. In late bloom, she emits a sweet scent in the room. This strain actually needs a flowering time of 8-9 weeks, but this one was done in 7 weeks. I think the reason for the quick flowering is that there were 3 hermaphrodites in the room that unfortunately released their pollen, even though I thought I had removed the hermaphrodite plants in time. Apparently, those few days were enough to cause a lot of damage. That's a shame, but such things happen. This grow was very educational for me, and I come away from this grow with a bit more experience, for which I am very grateful.
