deFharo Welcome, clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those lucky enough not to be one! πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈπŸ‘¨β€πŸŒΎ GYPSY KUSH, a 50% hybrid, the result of crossing an Afghan with a Ginger Ale, sweet and bitter at the same time, and a powerful Black Domina to stabilize the strain. I like the Andalusian roots of this strain; somehow, I think it won't be strange for it to grow a little further north. ===================================================================== I'm starting the spring/summer growing season with the same enthusiasm and excitement as always, lots of dominant sativas to take advantage of the fantastic spring sun throughout the vegetative growth stage. I'll be growing in a mixed indoor/outdoor mode until flowering, trying to give the plants as many hours of light as possible. Since I'll have to move the pots a lot from indoors to outdoors, I'll be using 10L pots to avoid breaking my back. I'm also going to try out three new Soluble Bio Ferments based on Mountain Microorganisms (MM) and Fermented Grass for vegetative growth, and two others for flowering that have been in anaerobic fermentation since 06/18/22. Additionally, I'll be using some enzymatic hydrolysates of amino acids and complex potassium hydrolysates of humic and fulvic acids with minerals. As I open them, I'll talk about them... but I warn you, this season I'm going all out, no mercy; I want to experiment to see how far I can go with forced feeding in pots. I'm not looking for friends; I'm looking for massive crops to fill my bag with marijuana... I've prepared a light, well-aerated substrate with perlite, coconut fiber, seaweed bokashi, Biochar with MM, and worm humus; I put it in 0.45L fabric pots (7x12cm) because I want to transplant to the final pot as soon as possible. I made a watering mix to moisten the entire substrate: Mountain spring water with natural heather honey (sugars, enzymes, minerals, vitamins...), homemade auxins from black beans (hormones, rooting agent), and 1% of my Bio Mix for vegetative growth with Effective Microorganisms (EM), minerals, and basic nutrients. With this mix, I start inoculating the microbiology into the substrate; honey is an excellent rooting agent and provides energy to the Microorganisms for them to propagate... then I chose the prettiest seed and buried it in the substrate, and it showed itself after 7 days. The low temperatures delayed the germination of all the seeds this season, but they all germinated! At first, I encapsulate the pots to keep the humidity very high in the pot and thus favor germination. I keep the encapsulation until the seedling has completely detached from the seed shell. After 24 hours, the tip of the root peeked through the substrate, so I carefully turned it around, and there it is, fighting to survive. I've started exposing it to light, at night under the light of the Vipar P1000 lamp at 20% power (20w) and about 15cm from the pots, during the day near a window, avoiding direct sunlight... all for the cause! πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈπŸ‘¨β€πŸŒΎπŸ˜ Until next time... REGARDS TO ALL!! ================================= Info on the GYPSY KUSH strain: https://en.seedfinder.eu/strain-info/Gypsy_Kush/Kannabia_Seeds/ "a unique variety with a flamenco spirit that can't be held back and that can only come from the south..." deFharo Welcome clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those who are fortunate enough not to be!πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈπŸ‘¨β€πŸŒΎ This seed with Andalusian roots is two weeks old and is struggling to thrive, but it stands tall thanks to its noble origin. I trust it and treat it with care, keeping the substrate in its grow bag moist, providing artificial light at night, and during the day, I move it closer to a window, protecting it from the sun's rays and excessive heat in the pot... life goes on and so does the cultivation. deFharo Welcome, clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those lucky enough not to be one! πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈπŸ‘¨β€πŸŒΎ This seed with Andalusian roots is three weeks old and is struggling to thrive; it's frozen, but it stands tall and proud. I still believe in its lineage... long live life! Today I started exposing all the seedlings to direct sunlight; I just have to be careful with the pot overheating and the substrate moisture. Since the initial watering, I've only watered with pure mountain water. Starting with the next watering, I'm going to begin feeding the seedlings. For the more advanced ones, the ones that already have true leaves, I will start with various foliar applications. Results will be seen next week. Until next time... deFharo Welcome clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those lucky enough not to be one!βœ‹πŸ‘¨β€πŸŒΎ... all for the cause! Four weeks into the life of this seed with Andalusian roots, this week the seedling has managed to "break" the sprout and the first leaves are striving to make up for lost time, it's going to be a great plant because I believe in the adult strength of those living beings that suffered in their childhood. This week I started fertilizing the seedlings, and it was immediately noticeable, a mix of natural Honey (sugars, enzymes...), Fresh Blood Hydrolysate (amino acids), Bio Mix EM is a blend of leftovers from other Bio fermented for vegetative growth (Bio Fish (N,Ca, P...), Bio Coco (Hormones and minerals), Bio Blood (amino acids), Bio Mealfrass (N, P, Mg) and a bit of Ormus from the Cantabrian Sea to raise the pH and provide minerals (Mg, S...), I did a deep watering and several foliar applications, the plants reacted immediately, the sprouts went into praise position, and all the seedlings have shown evident growth... let’s play! Until next time... deFharo Welcome clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those lucky enough not to be one! πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈπŸ‘¨β€πŸŒΎ... all for the cause! Five weeks into the life of this lazy seed with Andalusian roots, there's growth but it's very slow. I'm going to keep the seedling, and two days ago, I put another seed to germinate. If all goes well and I manage to correct some of my mistakes, then the seed that shows the most vigor will get a bigger pot and a spot in the grow tent, while the other will have to settle for a small pot and whatever sunlight it can gather. I've noticed some issues with the small grow bags (0.45l) that I've started using this season; they tend to dry out the substrate very quickly due to evaporation from the bag, especially when they're in the sun, and that slows down root development. I've seen this when transplanting 4 other seedlings this week; I expected a larger root system, but there were no roots at the edges of the substrate due to lack of moisture. So, I've looked for a glass container to keep the humidity in the pot and prevent evaporation. In the meantime, I've moistened the bags... all for the cause! Until next time... CHEERS TO EVERYONE!! ================================= Info on the strain GYPSY KUSH: https://en.seedfinder.eu/strain-info/Gypsy_Kush/Kannabia_Seeds/ "an unique variety with a flamenco sprite that you can't resist and that can only come from the south..." deFharo Welcome, clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those lucky enough not to be one!βœ‹πŸ‘¨β€πŸŒΎ... all for the cause! Six weeks into life for this seed with Andalusian roots, the seedling has made a good stretch, the stem is strengthening, and the leaves are expanding. I'm going to wait another week to transplant it so it coincides with my other grow, Colombia Punto Rojo. Last week, I placed a new seed to germinate, and it failed. Now I've put in another one; I'm very stubborn! I keep the humidity in the small grow bag thanks to having the pot inside a glass container. This week, I've been giving varied waterings and foliar applications to stimulate growth, and the seedling is responding. For now, I have this seedling under light for 24 hours, at night in the grow tent, and the rest of the day, moving from window to window capturing the spring sunlight. If the day is cloudy, I leave them in the grow tent. Until next time... deFharo Welcome clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those lucky enough not to be one! πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈπŸ‘¨β€πŸŒΎ... all for the cause! Seventh week of life for this seed with Andalusian roots, three days ago I transplanted it into an 11L fabric pot with a stone base. This past week the plant has strengthened in every aspect, thickening the stem while the leaves expanded. The compactness it's showing so far, with very short internodes, seems exceptional for getting a lot out of this crop. I did a first stimulating watering with inoculation of microorganisms into the substrate until the entire pot was moist. These days I've been making some foliar applications to all the plants... they seem grateful. For the substrate in the pot, I made a base mix with 25% recycled substrate from two seasons ago, which I've had in a bag these months to lose all moisture. Additionally, I used coconut fiber, a mix of two light substrates, bokashi from algae, worm humus, perlite, and vermiculite, and finally added a wide variety of minerals: Leonardite, zeolite, azomite, Epsom salt, diatomaceous earth, illite, montmorillonite, kaolin, basalt, rock phosphate, wood ash, pumice, and various types of clay. Once well mixed and the seedling placed, I added a good layer of mulch rescued from other crops with great microbiological activity and organic matter, to which I added rice husk, a dry material rich in silica that I usually use to make bokashi, but now I'm adding to the mulch to see its behavior and because I didn't have enough organic matter to complete the mulch for this and other plants. Next, I did a watering with 1500ml; the mix includes a Bio Fertilizer that I'm trying out for this season. I've had it fermenting anaerobically since June of last year. It's a Bio Ferment with Activated Mountain Microorganisms (MMA), fermented grass, and Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) to which I added water from 4 green coconuts. I called it Bio Coco EM, and with this bio-stimulant for crops and for the vegetative growth stage, I've tried to capture the hormones (cytokinins), enzymes, and vitamins from the coconut water, as well as the multitude of minerals it contains. The water from a coconut has enough energy and minerals to germinate a coconut seed. Here you can read all about the process of creating this series of fertilizers: https://growdiaries.com/diaries/134104-grow-journal-by-defharo/week/782852 Now this strain enters the big game, during the night with artificial light, during the day capturing rays of sun. If the day is cloudy, like the last week, they stay in the grow tent. Starting today, I've reduced the light hours from 24h to 19h because the plants also need rest. Of the three lamps in the canopy of my grow tent, the central one is at maximum power, among other things because the dimmer broke, damn it! The other two lamps in the canopy will go to maximum power this week, and I will add lights as the plants demand. Until next time... deFharo Welcome clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those lucky enough not to be one!βœ‹πŸ‘¨β€πŸŒΎ... all for the cause! Eighth week of life for this seed with Andalusian roots, now in its new pot it looks very comfortable and is working hard to establish itself. Since the transplant, the plant has widened and strengthened, two days ago I made an apical cut and soon I will start tying down the branches. Water consumption is increasing and this week I have done two deep waterings with varied components, so this gypsy lacks nothing. πŸ’ƒ This week I am going to start the flowering phase for my bigger plants, for this plant I will wait until it is well populated and branched out, although I think next week it will have considerable growth. The cloudy days continue, the plants barely come out of the grow tent, I have reduced the light time by half an hour, now (18h 30'), I added a 50w LED panel to the light canopy (2700K +660nm) and now I have 4 lamps plugged in at maximum power (370w), since I keep the lamps as close as possible to the tips to compact the plants, it turns out that the light on the sides of the lamps doesn't reach sufficiently, so this season, due to having put too many plants in my grow tent, I am going to play with putting a powerful canopy instead of lighting from the sides, I have two COBs with lenses waiting to be placed in the canopy, this way I can maintain the short distance with the tips and light from above all sides of the tent. Also, I have two bars, placed vertically in two corners (50cm) with 2100K +IR LEDs that I will connect when flowering begins and the plants grow a bit more. I am also waiting to receive an extra spacer bar kit for my grow tent, with this I will manage to recover up to 20% of the horizontal space that the tent loses due to the negative pressure from the air extractors... all for the cause! Until next time... deFharo Welcome clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those lucky enough not to be one! πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈπŸ‘¨β€πŸŒΎ... all for the cause! The last week of vegetative growth has successfully passed, the gypsy wants a party!! I trust this plant and it’s not letting me down, the pot establishment is guaranteed, the plant is growing very compact and strengthening branches and stems as the days go by. This week, a deep watering and two foliar applications with amino acids and vitamins, to which the plant reacts almost immediately. I’ve tied some branches to shape it and create a very efficient canopy of colas in front of the tent light... and that’s it! Until next time... deFharo Welcome, clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those lucky enough not to be one!βœ‹πŸ‘¨β€πŸŒΎ... all for the cause! Cloudy morning, a morning of joints and music with this grateful gypsy, four days ago I switched to flowering schedule 12/12h. After a week where I've done three deep waterings (4.7L) with various components aimed at stimulating growth, the plant is responding spectacularly... this gypsy has lost her shyness! Now she grows, strengthens, and proudly strives to catch up with her older growing companions, and I have no doubt she'll succeed! In the last watering, I debuted two new formulas of Bio Fertilizers that I put into anaerobic fermentation with Efficient Microorganisms and enzymes almost a year ago and that I'm opening now, the first based on the dissolution of three types of algae (Bio Algas EM) to use at any moment of the grow as a Bio stimulant, the second with a combination of bird and bat guanos where I mainly dissolve phosphorus and also the rest of the macro/micro nutrients and the humic acids from this exceptional raw material, I start using it at the end of the vegetative growth stage until the end of the grow, in watering combinations with other strong potassium formulas... let's play!! One note: last week, driven by passion, eagerness, and the high, I made several foliar applications on consecutive days with an explosive mix of my Fresh Blood Enzymatic Hydrolyzate (Amino Acids and Nitrogen 70%) with Multi Fruit Lacto Ferment NPK... The first application on all the plants was spectacular, I continued applying as if there was no tomorrow, and I managed to block several plants and burn many leaves... but this plant held up like a champ, and now she stands out while her companions recover! The transition to flowering is like our entry into adolescence, the hormonal revolution that the plant experiences is similar to ours, and as such, we've thrown a gypsy party to celebrate the life that awaits this Andalusian girl... Until next time... deFharo Welcome, clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those lucky enough not to be one! πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈπŸ‘¨β€πŸŒΎ... all for the cause! Another cloudy morning, another morning of joints and music in the company of this worthy descendant of La Faraona. Timidly, the plant has begun pre-flowering. Yesterday, I did a major defoliation on all the plants. I'm not fond of this technique, but I'm forced by the need for space, and I want the maximum light penetration through the canopy since this season I'm barely going to add side lighting. The plant loses some splendor, but it will recover in a few days, and also the flowering buds are more exposed to the light... let’s play! This week, the plant has significantly increased its water consumption. It's been hot days that help boost the metabolism of the crops, especially at this growth stage. Additionally, two deep waterings with bio-stimulants at an EC concentration of 1.25 for now. I'm waiting for a clearer definition of the flowers to increase the quantity and type of nutrients. Until next time... deFharo Welcome, clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those lucky enough not to be one!βœ‹πŸ‘¨β€πŸŒΎ... all for the cause! Three weeks have passed since the switch to the 12/12 flowering schedule, this gypsy is wearing her best floral outfit, the buds are popping up everywhere! Water consumption is perfect for deep watering every exact 3 days, with each watering using new mixes of bio-components so nothing is lacking! Watering and maintaining a good layer of mulch are the only actions I will be taking until the end of the grow, this week I’ll remove the remaining ties and then let this adult gypsy show everything she’s capable of. This week I added the last lights to the grow tent, two 50cm LED bars, 25w consumption and 3000K, 2100K + IR 730nm LEDs in equal parts, I positioned them vertically, each in a corner at the back of the tent, they are LEDs to enhance flowering and the growth of the branches and intermediate buds... let’s play! deFharo Welcome, clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those fortunate enough not to be! πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈπŸ‘¨β€πŸŒΎ... all for the cause! Four weeks into flowering and thirteen since the seed of this Gypsy strain hit the ground. The plant had a rough start, it struggled to take off, I even had doubts, but I persisted in caring for it to bring the grow to life, I brought in a sister so they could dance together and now they are the earthquake duo! 😁😁 I love beings that go through difficulties in their youth because it makes them stronger... or it kills them, in this case, the plant gives me life everywhere, beautiful and immaculate buds adorn the flower dress of this Gypsy, now, an inseparable friend! πŸ’ƒ At this stage, I only focus on feeding and enjoying the grow, I feed the plant every three days, at the dawn of the grow tent... we have breakfast together, I nourish the soil and replenish the mulch... nothing can go wrong! 😁😁 Oh!, my plants love music and bedtime stories, I do too! πŸ˜‹πŸ˜ˆ Until next time... deFharo Welcome, clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those lucky enough not to be one! πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈπŸ‘¨β€πŸŒΎ... all for the cause! In the boring summer months of GD, this grow entertains itself by singing and dancing with family while showcasing its Andalusian roots! πŸ’ƒπŸ•Ί Fifth week of flowering for this proud and blooming gypsy, she is unstoppable on her way to the zenith of her glory! The flowers are now the stars, overshadowing the leaf mass, which appears diminished in the face of so much bloom! Without a doubt, this strain that earned a central or privileged spot in my grow tent a week ago is working hard. The flowers are soaking up all the light energy they can, growing lushly on all the branches, and the water consumption is the highest among all the grows; she asks for food, and I give it to her... deFharo Welcome clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those lucky enough not to be one!βœ‹πŸ‘¨β€πŸŒΎ... all for the cause! Seventh week of flowering, this gypsy female is unstoppable on her way to glory. According to the producer, the flowering period is 58-62 days, but my rebellious and happy crops systematically extend their flowering period for my delight. The plant maintains a good leaf mass, converting all the energy from the lights into fat buds. Only a few of the old leaves have just started to yellow, and I add them to the mulch, in a double exercise of plant cannibalism... long live the cannibal crops! The plant eats, drinks, and lives like any of us; it enjoys peace, varied food, fresh water, and lots of light to look at it head-on... long live life! πŸ’ƒπŸ§‘πŸ’‘πŸ’§πŸ² Happy summer growers!! deFharo Welcome clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those who are fortunate enough not to be! πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈπŸ‘¨β€πŸŒΎ... all for the cause! Ninth week of flowering, the gypsy flower is reaching the end of the dance! πŸ’ƒ With a water consumption higher than any of my other grows, the plant wants it all to give it all, the larger leaves have started to give up their nutrients to produce more and better flowers. This week 3 deep waterings, at this stage I simplify the watering mixes and focus more on the supply of phosphorus and potassium, coming from various organic sources, the buds look very active and the whitish trichomes dominate the scene... I think there's dancing for one more week... πŸ’ƒ Happy summer growers!! deFharo Welcome clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those who are fortunate enough not to be! πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈπŸŒ±... all for the cause! Tenth week of flowering, the gypsy is blooming away! πŸ’ƒπŸ˜Ώ Time passes and takes my gypsy with it, even though I don't want it to. It's been fantastic company these months, she, discreet as always and content with her fate, shows off her beautiful flowers until the last moment... but life has its way. The moment of harvest arrives, of farewell, of looting, of infinite sadness, my gypsy and I talk... Dad - How are you my little gypsy? G - I'm good Daddy, at peace, satisfied. Dad - What do you need, my girl? G - Water me one last time, with pure water. Dad - Of course, I will purify you my love! G - Take me out to the warmth of the sun, like we used to when I was young... Dad - Yes girl, to the summer sun! G - I want to stay awake until the end. Dad - I will accompany you... G - Will you tell me stories Daddy? Dad - 😿 Of course, like every night, but today, I will sing you a song... G - I love you ❀️ Happy summer growers!! Until the harvest... deFharo Welcome clandestine marijuana growers, and also to those fortunate enough not to be! πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈπŸ‘¨β€πŸŒΎ... all for the cause! 137 days of cultivation, 70 days of flowering, the Andalusian gypsy has exceeded expectations. After two days of non-stop light and once the moisture in the pot was exhausted, I cut the plant! It has been an easy and rewarding grow. The plant took a while to kick off, but then it behaved with great vigor, growing happily with plenty of food, light, and watering to produce beautiful and dense buds that are now hanging upside down... in a few weeks, I will complete my comments on the strain. Now her little sister 3M β–Ό The little gypsy, with six weeks less of life!, promises to surpass her older sister. With space freed up in my grow tent, I've prepared a lighting setup worthy of a Queen... let’s play! Happy summer growers!! Until the harvest... That picture with air pruned roots says a lot - gypsy is happy and growing nicely. I put very wet towels around when I have low humidity and sometimes I pour water after I lift the pots. Bought recently good dehumidifier with RH and temps sensors - keeping VPD is so much easy now. All the best with gypsy girl, my friend!
