Horrendous week - weather terrible, barely a moment of sunshine. A little bit in the morning but otherwise grey and overcast. Surprised at how well they are doing considering the circumstances. Temperatures are good - humidity is also probably quite pleasant for them in their little makeshift greenhouse.
Have moved half outside. Seem big enough not to get eaten by birds (famous last words)
Weather should pick up next week and I'm hoping to see a nice boost.
Well, the sun has finally come out to play and good weather has been restored.
Using the heat to dry up some of that rain water - the pots were water-logged for a good 2 - 3 days - now they're finally starting to feel a lot lighter.
Same nutrient schedule.
Surprised to see the cheap seeds (all the Linda grows) are doing so well - outperforming some of the big guns here. But time will tell :)
Yes, they are stilts in the picture... The plant nursery lid (a homemade contraption made out of pallets and clingfilm) fell on top of this one during a very heavy storm - I should have been more vigilant, but it was all calm and still when I moved things around an hour or two earlier. The lid fell perfectly flat bang on top of the plant and flattened it like a pancake. The main stem is snapped in two pieces (let's say 'folded') and it doesn't look good.... however, there are still bud sites active and alive.... so... let's just see what happens. It really should be dead at this point - I wish I'd taken a photo of the damage.
Luckily.... I have two! And i won't be making the same damned mistake with the second one :)
(Hopefully)
Weather still really bad - good days, bad late afternoons and evening. Temps are ideal and humidity is very good... with all this rain.
Another week, another downpour.
Mostly stable weather - but now it's climbing rapidly with temps expected to exceed the 30s this weekend. So it's a race against time at this point - and this is why it's best to plant autos late April in this zone.
I'm not sure, but I think I'm discovering the joys of cal mag this year. Never used it before - and just adding 1ml per litre - and using once a week. But is this the magic nectar that makes plants super fat? Either that or the regular sprays of Fish Mix on the leaves every evening. But I'm leaning towards the cal mag. Something is certainly different this year - yields are looking like they'll be a lot higher across the board :)
A super hot week with moderate humidity during the night.
Interesting to compare all these plants to see how much genetics plays a roll in things. All plants are treated equally, but they're not all guaranteed to come out the same - with all sorts of shapes and sizes.
Still surprised this one survived - an absolute miracle. Not the biggest yield by any stretch, but it's going to produce something :)
The first one that got crushed is still going strong and will be ready for harvest soon - certainly over the next week.
In the same week I harvested the 2nd plant
This is the harvest for the 2nd plant - the first one is still going, so I'll update when they're both done :) Easy to grow though, and a miracle the other one survived at all.
Nice grow - not the best yield from plant 2 - but still okay, it shouldn't lose too much weight as they're very, very dense (and incredibly sticky!)
Plant 2 was harvested after just 9 weeks.
Weather was a big problem this year.
Plant 1 was left running for a good 12 weeks in the end - and much happier with the results. I kind of wish I hadn't chopped the other one so early now. It definitely needed a bit longer.
Plant 1 looks great... and given what it went through, it's a miracle it's even here at all. I thought it was a goner for sure. It takes the definition of 'resistant' and 'strong' to whole new levels. A massive wooden lid thing fell on it and flattened it like a pancake about a week before flowering - it was as thin as a sheet of paper and split in two different places, Managed to bend some wire around it all and force it back into shape... et voila' :)
Heyy,
Thanks a bunch for growing our genetics, and sharing this diary with us!
We hope that it was a nice experience
Have a good one, and happy harvest :)
