I am so excited about this one: Strawberry Cough! I have heard so much about this strain. I love fruity strains, and I love sativas, so this one should be a joy! Thanks to Zamnesia for the seeds! I have put one seed in a glass of water for 24 hours, to prime it. Then I put it in the peat pellet, and in a small greenhouse in my windowsill.

The first week is done! This part of the grow is always the scariest, right? They are so fragile and sensitive: I am constantly afraid of breaking them. Nevertheless, she survived her first week! The first set of true leaves is showing and growth will become exponential from this point. For the first 5 days, I added a makeshift humidity dome made from a soda bottle, to keep the humidity up. On the last 2 days of this week, I removed the dome, and she is a bit shocked by the low humidity. Currently, it is very dry in my room, so it is quite a difference, but she will adapt. The light has been dimmed to around 40%, and I will slowly increase it to 60-70% over the next week.
To feed her, I built a slow-release fertilized soil with Greenhouse Feeding nutrients. I added 4 grams of BioGrow per litre of soil. When inserting the peat pellet into the soil, I added some beneficial bacteria and mycorrhizal fungi to set her up for the next few months. I watered with a bit of BioEnhancer, to stimulate the soil life. From now on, I only have to water with plain water and the nutrients in the soil will release over time to feed the plant.
Wow, what a week for this lady! I can't believe how fast she is growing, definitely the quickest of the cultivars in my cabinet right now! The new growth is also very dark green and vibrant. This is looking to be a very nice grow! See you next week!
She exploded with growth this week! I topped her to ensure she will not become a tall Christmas tree and encourage some branching. This will be the last week of the vegetative phase, at the end of the week, I switched the light cycle to 12/12. I don't want her to get too big, as the headspace in my cabinet is limited. In my last grow, the plants became too during the pre-flower stretch and hit the grow light. This time I switched a bit sooner and I will do some low-stress training to keep the branches low. I added 4 grams of BioBloom per litre of soil to ensure she has all the nutrients she needs for the flowering phase.
Look at her go! She is doing really well! This is the first week under the 12/12 photoperiod, and she is growing quite a bit taller. To make sure she doesn't bump her head against the ceiling (or the light) I tie her branches down to create a flat and low canopy. She is responding well to this training! I added slow-release organic fertilizer last week, so no need to worry about that now.
What a beauty, eh? She is eager to start producing some lovely flowers! We are in week 2 of the flowering phase and already Strawberry Cough is shooting out pistils! The stretch is not too bad, thanks to the LST work. I topdressed the soil with 1 gram of BioBloom fertilizer per litre of soil and watered with 1 gram of BioEnhancer per litre of water.
Some beautiful flowers are forming! I am really glad about how Strawberry Cough is growing, the structure is perfect for my small cabinet! The flowers are increasing in size really quickly now.
Hot diggity dog, she is looking frosty! Look at those macros! Just a few weeks in flower, and already the sugar leaves are covered in trichomes, that's looking promising! Not much vertical growth anymore, so that's good!
Another week has passed and the buds from Strawberry Cough are getting fatter, stickier, and smellier! Let's talk a little bit about the setup! Currently, Strawberry Cough and two other cultivars are in my custom growing cabinet. The cabinet is built by myself and is all about stealth: it's super quiet, has no smell, and looks like an ordinary cabinet when the doors are closed. It has produced 3 harvests so far. It features an 80 W dimmable LED board, a fan & filter from AC Infinity, and small PC fans to create air movement inside. It's very small: 110 x 65 x 35 cm or 43.3 x 25.6 x 13.8 inches, so plant training for short plants has been the biggest challenge. Strawberry Cough is doing really well in the cabinet because it responded so well to the training, so it stayed at the perfect height!
Not the best week for Strawberry Cough... Until now she was having a flawless run, but this week something went wrong. I think she had some heat stress and too little water, causing her to have shriveled-up yellow leaves and foxtails. Next week I will take extra good care of her, to make sure she still finishes nicely!
This is the last week for the Strawberry Cough from Zamnesia. Last week it was raining non-stop over here, which led to very high humidity. I don't want to risk botrytis, so it is time to harvest! The flowers have gotten really big! I am very curious to try this! I chopped the lady at the bottom and hung it upside down to dry in my growing cabinet for a couple of weeks. See you soon with the results!
