This week has been nice and warm. I say warm - in reality we are cookin'. The rain has chilled out and I might be able to finally water these girls again in a day or two. Now that they are established I am thinking of topdressing the soil with some Tomato Secret. I topped the plant trying to get a F.I.M. result I want 4 main stems out of this tree trunk base. I've taken some branches out from above the lowest leaves the rest of the girl is growing unimpeded. I won't be defoliating for the rest of the week at the very least. She responds well to the plucking of limbs. She just seems to double in size visually everyday. It maybe just be my fishermans' story - but watch along we want to show you our fall colors.
6/13 just watered these girls with about a tablespoon maybe more 8% hummic acid. 1/2 gallon for each girl assuming me water can is 1 gallon. Everyone is looking happy happy happy. Going to get out there and try to pull some weeds from around the old compost pile and the planters. They're taking all my expensive organic amendments.
I've decided against the Tomato Secret and will instead pack these girls with some Dr. Earth Flower Girl dry organic amendment this evening - that way when she is ready to eat some P, K it will be baking and available towards the end of the month as summer solstice is merely a week away now, how time flys. Hope this girl explodes.
weeds were wed. EZ
6/14 - 91 degrees Fahrenheit 12% humidity. Now these are my normal growing conditions. Humbold Afghani is loving it and branching out like wild going to let the branches do their thing for a bit and top them when they have about 2-3 nodes of growth. Im trying to water the area around her to help bring down the temperature of the area if not allow the wind to pick up some of that moisture and blow it across the plant to help cool things down and encourage downward root growth.
@NegotiatedBubble, I'm not sure what the 'on paper' true lineage is regarding the filial line of the strain. I've been doing some unconventional shaping and training which might have attributed to its unique shape. She really wants to put on big branches towards the afternoon sun as well. She gets to grow next to a pretty symmetrically shaped Blackberry Kush plant so she is certainly my ugly duck. This specific seed was on the smaller side as well so it might just be a little goofy too lol - I wish I knew more about Filial lines and traits. Thanks for coming and sharing about this lovely lady and taking an interest in the grow.
I grew the Twenty20 Afghani this year & had the same general observations. Itβs got the old world qualities I like and is pretty darn bomb proof. I harvested a bit on the early side due to back to back storms but probably could have left them in a bit longer without damage.
You definitely did a great job of stewardship with your plants congratulations π
