Sep. 14: I am using a mixture of 80% FoxFarm Ocean Forest potting soil and 20% Perlite in a Smart Pot. So far I'm just spritzing it with bottled purified water. Sep. 16: I started nutrients today. I am following the FoxFarm schedule. I’m currently feeding it Big Bloom two times per week. Sep. 18: Continuing Big Bloom 2 times a week. I’m watering once in the morning and once in the evening. I think she looks healthy. Sep. 21: End of week 1. I'm pleased with the way things are going.

Sep. 23: I like the progress. I may start some training soon. Sep. 24: Added Grow Big to the nutrients and will be feeding twice this week. Continuing to water twice a day. Sep. 25: I might regret it and it may be early but it feels like I should start some training. I put a fuzzy stick around the base for support and another around the top to expose the smaller nodes. Time will tell. Sep. 27: Continuing to expose nodes to the light as I can. It seems to help. I was using an electronic device to measure ph, it always measures around 7.3. I took a soil sample and it is more like 6.5. I’m not convinced the device works properly. Sep. 27: Ending week 2 nicely. I'm learning that some of the challenges are keeping the temperature and humidity in a nice zone and keeping the correct amount of moisture in the soil. I feel like I will be doing more intense training in the next couple weeks.

Sep 29: Starting week 3 by continuing with Big Bloom and Grow Big twice a week. Oct 03: She seems to respond well to everything and anything I do. I continue to tuck and pull to try to expose as many lower nodes as possible. The stalk is very thick and strong already. Watering twice a day and spritzing on occasion. Oct 05: I cut some of the larger leaves off of the bottom. It seems like it was best to get them out of the way for all of the newer growth. I hope I did the right thing. There are more to cut but I’m hesitant. Part of me thinks it is good to have the large leaves to soak up the most light. I continue to train the stalks. Oct. 05: Ending week 3 with a bushy, healthy plant. I believe I can verify that the sex is female. If some of the stalks shoot up a bit more I will start to use the scrog. I’ve got a few of the stalks pulled over, including the main one, with pipe cleaners. I’m attempting to get that star look. I’m tempted to cut off more of the bottom growth but have decided to ‘leave’ it alone.

Oct 06: Starting week 4 by continuing with the Fox Farms Big Bloom and Grow Big per their schedule. I’m tucking the large lower leaves under, they are always in the way. I think I see the beginnings of some flower. Oct 08: Lots of healthy shoots that show some pre-flowering. Almost time for the scrog. Oct 09: I think this is her week to shine. A bunch of new growth. Oct 11: Ending week 4 with flowers everywhere and serious pulling and tucking to ready her for the scrog.

Oct 13: Beginning week 5 in the flowering stage. Everything seems to be going well. I’ve been reading up on lighting and have decided to leave them on 24 hours. Oct 16: I’m starting to fall in love with this plant. Tucking, tying, feeding, clipping and watering. Oct 17: I'm thinking I may go with at least a 3-gallon pot on my next grow, And maybe try a 20/4 light schedule for flowering.

Oct 20: Starting week 6. The plant looks healthy. I’m keeping the main cola about 18 inches from the light by tightening my training cords. I anticipate using the scrog as soon as the stems shoot up a bit more. Oct 22: I'm noticing some orange spotting on some of the fan leaves. Best I can tell so far is it might be a calcium deficiency, I will keep my eye on it. Oct 26: Finishing off week 6 with some good bud developement. The lower buds are making their way up. This is a very bushy plant. I am keeping my eye on some leaf discoloration but I have not done anything about it. My biggest question is whether I should cut away a bunch of the leaves. I see some people do.

Oct 27: Starting week 7. Oct 29: I gave her a good trimming today. It seemed like the right thing to do. Many buds are making their way to the top and are becoming dense. Nov 2: Ending week 7. This plant is not turning out as I expected. That being said, I am very happy with how it looks. It is much bushier and smaller than I thought it would be. I wonder if this is related to the size of my pot (2 gallon) or maybe this is just how these plants grow. The buds are very dense and seem well structured. I continue to trim leaves off as needed and water every day. I expect to harvest this plant in the next two weeks.

Nov 2: Starting week 8. I still see 100% clear trichomes so I’m letting her grow. This week or next might be time to harvest. Nov 3: Grow notes for next time - use a bigger pot - try 20/4 lighting - look into nutrient schedule better suited for auto-flower - top off the plant - more trimming?/less trimming? Nov 8: All is well. She is a very cute bud bush. I have stopped the Grow Big. I have a lot to learn about nutrients. The buds are really growing nicely and are becoming dense. At this point I am guessing harvest in week 10. Nov 9: Some possible milkiness to the trichomes but plenty to go.

Nov 10: Starting week 9. I have spotted my first amber trichome....ever. The buds are growing well, the smell seems normal and good. Nov 15: Day 62. Mostly milky trichomes with some amber mixed in. I’m going to harvest.

Week 10. Harvest

Happy Harvest Day!

This is my first grow so I have nothing to compare it to. It was very easy to grow and I ended up with a better plant than I thought I would. It took 62 days until it was ready to harvest. The plant responded well to low-stress training. No matter how much tugging or pulling I did it always bounced back quickly. It is a tough plant. I think it would have produced more if I topped it. I will be trying that on my next grow - Sour Livers. The plant never got big enough to use my net. Great grow.

A total of 11 wet and untrimmed buds - 7.3g, 9.2g, 11.8g, 8.0g, 11.3g, 10.7g, 3.4g, 3.9g, 17.2g, 16.1g, 41.1g = 140g. I also have 4 grams of bud trim. These buds dried very fast. Too fast (3 days). I may have over-dried them. Anyway, I measured it out at 30.5 grams. It is jarred up with 62% Boveda packs. I'm hoping some of the moisture returns but I am less than hopeful. I plan on curing it for about a month. It seems to have come back from the dryness. I added some lettuce to the jars for a while along with the packs. Now I've got the buds curing in jars with 62% Boveda packs. After one month cure the buds could be much more dense and moist. The smell is sweet and grassy. Once it is ground up this doesn’t matter much. I harvested when the trichomes were mostly white. I’ve read that will produce a more energetic high. I would call the high energetic.
