Looks like the first grow of this on GD, do I get a prize or something Seedsman?
Starting off some seeds, hopefully get to run 2 plants in the tent and 1 outdoors. Just a hint of Rhizotonic added to Glass of water.
Will pot on what germinates into Canna Coco, then I have some Ecothrive & Indoor Organics Eco-Life Supercharged Potting Soil / ECOTHRIVE 70 30 Coco/Perlite on order to pot into their bigger pots.
1 week on - Hopefully these are just taking their time, the seeds were bought around 9 months ago left sealed, kept dark and cool.
Another week on, 2 out of 3 seeds are alive!
Just watering at present, hoping the Ecothirve Living Soil is going to take care of the nutrients.
I'm mostly not using the COB LED on my light yet while these are small and delicate plants, I'll get the extractor hooked up soon so i can vent off the heat from the COBs.
Growing well, they look bigger each morning.
My plans for these Photo-period plants are to Top one of them and use that a a cutting / clone, then leave the other plant for just LST to keep the height down. Need a couple more nodes to grow before I top.
28JUN23 - Topped the biggest plant and popped the off-cut in some water to root.
Did a first bit of LST on the non-topped plant after taking these photos.
Waiting for the topped-cutting to start rooting in water.
Photos taken just before watering, you can see the one that isn't topped was flagging a bit.
A good week's growth, they are drinking more and I've started to feed, and I think they enjoyed the nutes as they clearly stretched over this last 24 hours.
Growing well, I'm going to switch to 12 hours of light now and get these plants budding up.
I'm noticing that these two don't like drying out and are happier when kept fairly moist, the pots don't even have to feel light like they need a water for the leaves to droop like they are thirsty.
Its amazing how tall these plants are getting, the topped one is just as tall as the non-topped.
Flipped these to 12/12 last weekend, no sign of flower yet, added some p/k to the last watering.
Slight burning on top leaf tips which I'm guessing is because of it growing closer to the light, I'll have to work out a way to shorten the light hangers.
Watering about twice a week, these have been my best grows to date so far, thinking the EcoThrive compost is helping.
I wish I'd flipped these to 12/12 a couple of weeks sooner as they are very close to my light now, keeping the big bright COB LEDs turned off so I don't burn the tops.
My plants are getting too close to the light, even the topped plant is bigger than the non-topped!
Anything I can do? I'm wondering whether to angle the pots and scrog net it or something.
Since you are still in week 1 of Flower and they will stretch next 1-3 weeks you might think about super crop.
Like really bending main top down 90-180° - check out some youtube video. This might be a good solution for your situation - let me know what you did finally then :)
Thanks to the folks on here for the tips on HST to deal with the vigorous growth and the plant tops getting too close to the light! Watched a couple of YT vidz that explained it well and the HST I did to bend the stems away from the light so i could use the SCROG net worked well and the bendy stems firmed back up in no time.
Very subtle smell so far, the leaves I'm pruning from the base of the plant smell great when ripped apart between the fingers.
I might stick to Autos for subsequent grows as I just don't have the tent space to deal with tall Photo-period plants.
Watering/Feeding about twice a week, growing really well and really strong plants.
Unsure if I should do more HST to try and get light to the top Colas, the tops are going to be stunted without proper light.
Otherwise these plants are growing really well.
As per usual this plant tells me it needs watering by looking limp, it doesn't mean the pots are dry it just means its demanding more water. We're gunna need a bigger tent!
I've had quite a bit of yellowing and dropping leaves, left them on til they practically fall off, guessing this is because the buds are really packing on some girth now, I have increased the Canna Coco A+B to give a bit more free nitrogen and hopefully limit any further yellowing.
The tent and foliage smell very much like growing tomato plants, then the rub and sniff on the buds is like Citrus and Spice, the kinda spicy note you can get from Black Pepper.
Outdoor Plant: When i topped one of the main plants I potted up the cutting which has been taking ages to establish its self, popped the pot outside and the recent weather is making it start to grow.
Well it looks like increasing the Coco A&B solved the leaf yellowing and dropping, no more leaves have dropped or yellowed. Buds are still packing on weight though mostly all still with fresh white pistils with only a few turning brown. I added my crappy first Growlight to try get a bit more light to the buds right at the top that are missing the main light, I expect when ready I'll be harvesting from lower down the plants first leaving the top colas to ripen up more.
If you ever want a strain that doesn't stink the house out, go for this one! Though thats not to say the buds don't smell good when you give them a rub ;-)
Next time do it, like others said its a bit late this time. It is worth it, I also find the plant will try and regrow them once I remove them so you need to keep up with it.
Good Luck!
Another week, done, its got some chunky buds but still lots of fresh white pistils. There are a few smaller lower down buds that have turned to brown pistils, I'm tempted to carefully take a few of these off to dry and see what the Vape of these is like.
Last watering I went with the PK and CalMag, pretty sure it didn't need or want these and I should have stuck with just the Canna Coco A&B only.
If Seedsman are reading this, give me a clue for when to harvest, I have a mix of buds where some look about ready and other are still pushing out fresh pistils but are chunky and firm as heck.
Limited the nutes to just Canna Coco A+B, plants definitely needing less water now.
Not a massive production of trichomes but they are sticky / greasy and smell good when rubbed, still very lemon citrus with a black pepper spice in there too.
Thanks 😀
I dried a small bud a few days back, just had a vape of it, its quite different.
Fresh, Bright, kinda linked thinking, felt a bit like in the film Limitless when his NZT was kicking in, felt coherent, felt connected. Still had munchies.
Partial harvest done last week of the ripe buds, rest of plants left to ripen up a bit more.
As the buds have dried I'm getting quite a lot of seeds, and a few falling out in the tent from the plants too now.
Also I assume these seeds will be viable and basically clones of the parent plant, correct me if I'm wrong.
I cropped parts of my plants last week and I'm getting seeds falling out of the buds as they dry and now also some falling from the plants in the tent, guessing it must have sprouted some male flowers.
What is best to clean the tent with to remove any pollen?
Easy to grow, grows Tall.... I SAID SHE GROWS TALL!!!!!!! Would grow again but flip to flower way sooner than I did to try and limit the stretch while buds are starting and would plan to get in early with LST and HST to keep the plants at a sensible height. This strain lets you know when it needs watering and will show limp leaves before the pots have even dried out. The strain reacts well to changes in nutes, so when you spot a deficiency you can fix it with the right nutes.
Couple of new photos Added 31.10.23 - Got 2x 1L Kilner jars and 2x 500ml Kilner Jars, the Popcorny fluffy bits I might leave to make some extract with alcohol.
