Medusa F1 3/5
This plant will be subjected to LST alone, and will be compared with the LST + topping plants.
Check my first grow 1/5 to see the experiment.
The seed was put in water on tuesday and on wednesday between paper towels.
The seed was put in soil on friday and germinated above the ground later that night.
3/5 is growing fine.
I only gave the plant water.
CO2 bag is installed and an airco.
I noticed with 1/5 that the LST could be done better. I forced the main branch to grow with a horizontal bend which could be done more bushier. I will try the LST a bit later than with 1/5 and with that I will try to create better bush with less force pulling the branches down.
Any tips on LST are welcome. Please look at 1/5 to see the full experiment.
3/5 is growing just as fast as the other two.
I only fed the plant water. I will probably start nutrients next week
Next week I will also start LST. I will probably wait until the side branches are long enough to tie down. I will try to avoid LST on the main stem, which i did with 1/5 plant.
First week of LST
The white pistils are also visible on day 19, just like the others.
I also started giving a little bit of nutrients. 1/8 dosage with a bitt les nitrogen.
No nutrient burn yet.
The stretch will begin now. Plant is not very big but is growing fast. Yield will be average
I increased the nutes a bit.
Pistils are forming and extra shoot production has stopped, not a lot of shoots compared to the topped plant. About the same as 1/5 which also had LST on its own.
Watering 3L every 4/5 days.
Medusa 3/5 als shows signs of heat & drought stress.
This plant will be one of the lowering yielding ones. It is rather small and not too many shoots.
She is starting to drink more water and nutrients.
I still think topping is better if I compare the LST plants (1/5, 3/5) to the topped & LST plant (2/5)
LST wires removed.
Medusa 3/5 is now also starting to grow fat flowers.
I started giving her a small dosage of green sensation.
I noticed this plant has more indica leaves instead of sativa/ruderalis on the lower growth. Im curious to see the development of smell and buds compared to the others.
It suffered a bit from dought and heat stress, anoybody have an idea what the cause is of my leaf damage?
Medusa 3/5 really got fatter this week, especially the main cola.
She is not be the biggest of the bunch so far but I dont mind. She still seems to swell heavily.
I will continue feeding her nutes. She seems to have obtained light green spots/bleaching. Im reckoning it was from the heat and drought stress.
She is happy now
Medusa 3/5 is actually looking the same as 1/5; in height, amount of shoots and probably yield as well.
Im still quite pushing the nutrients and it filled up with buds heavily this week.
LST wires are all removed and it is growing as it is untill the end.
Check my other diaries for the experiment and the progression! Feel free to ask questions!
Medusa 3/5 is also near it's end. She has stayed rather compact just like medusa 1/5 with only LST.
I will slowly start reducing the nutrients from now on. I will wait and see if she will get fatter.
Check my other medusa F1's!
The end of week 10 for medusa F1 3/5.
Slowly reducing the nutrients weeek by week.
She is still riping furthere, I will check the trichomes next week.
I hope she will get a little bit fatter.
Check my other diaries for the other ladies and full experiment.
The harvest for Medusa 3/5 is also very soon.
She always stayed rather small.
She is slowly fading but still ripening her buds. Especially in the lower growth the buds are quite still developing. She is a bit slower.
I am lowering the nutrients as well and let's wait and see how she further develops.
Please check my other diaries for the full experiment.
Harvest for Medusa F1 Hybrid 3/5 is almost here.
This Phenotype stayed quite small, but still packed with buds. She smells a bit similar to medusa 2/5, more sweet. I noticed some trichomes were turning amber, but lower in the plant still translucent. She will need 2 weeks maximum. Not for long!
I am reducing the nutrients and she is fading nicely.
Stay tuned amd please check my other diaries for the Medusa F1 hybrids progress and experiment
Medusa 3/5 is just about finished.
I noticed more trichomes are becoming amber. Since the second medusa is still in the drying tent, I will harvest her probably in parts. I will first cut the biggest main colas and then let the lower growth ripen further.
I lowered the nutrients heavily now.
I also noticed purple spots on the leaves, maybe due to senescence?
The Last week for Medusa F1 3/5. I will harvest her this week.
She really grew for a very long time. The trichomes are starting to turn more Amber.
She really got fat. The smaller popcorn buds are also big.
In the last feeding i will only give her water. She really faded out nicely.
What a journey this strain went through. She only stayed quite small but looks georgeous.
Stay tuned for harvest and check my other diaries!
Amazingly fast growing Autoflower. Short vegetative period and really has a fast flowering cycle too.
The smell is now much sweeter but when smoked it is a more diesel pine flavour. Amazing flavour and smell profile.
I would recommend letting them grow for a bit longer. Then you will really see their true fatness.
Harvest day for Medusa F1 3/5 on day 100.
I really quite extended the growth and after 90 days or so it stopped with fattening it's buds. Therefore, the sweet spot for me is at around 90 days.
I fed her only water for the final feed and chopped her a couple days later.
She smells sweet but not as strong as number 2/5. I put her in the dry tent and will let her dry for around 14-21 days.
This small lady has been a great journey.
Two more to go!
I just put my Orion F-1 in the dirt today that I got from Royal Queen Seeds, it was a freebie with purchase & I'm stoked to get it started. Thanks for posting your grow for inspiration.
@Densko,Thanks! I haven't killed it yet, but the leaves are all curling up. I'm not holding out much hope. That's ok, I planted 3 other strains & they are all doing great. The RQS Purple Punch is absolutely covered in buds. This is only my 2nd grow ever so it's all a learning process.
