To pop the seed I place it in a glass of water with some clonex and some supernatural by Bio Diesel.
It stays in the water for about a day or two until the tap root is about 3mm out of the seed. Then I plant it into the soil on its side.
The first week not much happens. The main stem gets longer but there isn’t much leaf action to be seen.
Going strong second set of leaves stretching out and the third set emerging. Going to run one more week as a seedling then transplant and go into full veg.
Notice a bit of yellowing just before the end of the week. Going to give it a little bit of plain tap water to flush it out.
Week 3 and I think it is time to give the plant its first full feed. Pumped the light up to 650umol/s and gave the substrate a good soaking with ISN nutrient water. Hopefully the added feed will sort out the early signs of a nitrogen deficiency.
The plants stem has become woody and seems to be really strong. Looking forward to watching this baby grow.
@Blinkinbilly, You should look into sprouted seed teas if you're looking for faster growth of roots. Been experimenting with SST on my vegetable plants and have seen a noticed faster roots growth compared to the plants I didn't give them to.
