I had pretty high hopes for this strain. The parent strains were some really good ones that bring back memories. Unfortunately, I didn't get what I had hoped from this plant: - She grew very short. 24in at the chopping block. - Because of her height, 50% of her, mostly the bottom, had botrytis and was discarded prior to hanging. Out of 5 outdoor harvests in the last two weeks, she was the second worst mold resistant. - Out of 20 outdoor plants, she was the second worst when it comes to pest resistance. She just kept getting eaten, and by various bugs, despite my treatments. Some of her large top fan leaves were destroyed or even chewed right off, all throughout flowering when she needed to soak up the sun the most. I can't blame RQS here at all. Every one of these problems is due to my tent failing when she was just a seedling, and having no other place to put her, she was transplanted outdoors. As such, her growth was stunted, she succumbed to transplant shock and started flowering quickly, and the mold and pests would not have been a thing should she still be in my tent. I really do have high hopes for this strain, so I decided to grow it again. You can check out my "RQS2" diary for that plant. I'm not interested in it being a first-generation hybrid cultivar - I just like the parental genetics, and I will keep trying until I grow this one successfully.

I have been using this for YEARS. I use it very sparingly for my outdoor garden only, and it has always worked great. Bonus, you can't get much cheaper.

Be back in about 2 weeks for the trim and dry weight.
Smoke review
Ok, so this is actually the first plant I harvested this year that was actually usable. It was grown outdoors during a horrible monsoon season, and as such, it had some botrytis on the bottom of the plant, but we were able to get a decent bit of mold-free bud from her despite her size. She was hung to dry in my drying tent with a humidity of about 56-58% at about 70-72F. I actually hung her two days after another plant of similar size. On day 6 of the other plant and day 4 for her, she was stem-snapping dry and ready to be trimmed and cured. Amazing. The trim was as easy as can be. I spent about 15 minutes trimming all of her. I wish they were all like this. She was only cured for a few days because I didn't want to make another trip to the dispensary and waste my money. I am actually glad that I didn't let her cure longer. The flavor is up there and very unique. No green taste at all (and there wasn't even with a small sample I had before the cure). She tastes of mostly an herbal blueberry flavor, but with a very pleasant and strong peppery aftertaste. It's hard to describe this taste, but I like it a lot! The effects for me are also pretty interesting. This stuff wrecks me, haha. Very energetic at some points and complete body high at other points. When it's all done, you definitely want to take a nap. This stuff is very good if you need sleep, but not before a rollercoaster ride. I am going to rate this a 7 out of 10. It hits all the right notes for me in terms of ease of growing, smell, taste, effects and putting up with mold at least somewhat better than dozens of previous plants this year. I popped another seed you can find in my pile of diaries. We'll be keeping this one in rotating for a little while at least.

@yan402, I just had another look at yours, and I think they look pretty similar. My leaves are slightly curled and the angle isn't the greatest. They do not look like an unhealthy curl yet though. I think maybe they are just really excited that it isn't cloudy and thunderstorming for the first time in several days, and it's bright and hot out today. It could also just be my feeding. I am using a slow release fertilizer, feeding only 7-9 days.

@Sour_D, thanks man. it's fun because my outdoor grows get very little fertilizer, sometimes none if I'm familiar with the strain. I just pretty much forget about them and let them grow, except this year, it's a little more work, making them presentable for all of you and taking pictures :)
