Started a new grow with the help of Medic Grow! We decided to team up to showcase how their Mini Sun-2 150W does in the 2x2. So a huge thank you to them.
I started this run last Tuesday by dropping the seeds in water. I let them soak for 24 hours and put them right in the soil. The soil is a three way mix of Fox Farms coco, locally resourced worm castings, and Purple Cow soil.
On Wednesday I received the light from Medic Grow. Opening the box, it was tightly secured. Didn't look like anything was damaged due to travel. There was a mark on my timer display but I assume that occured during assembly. They gave some sweet sticker that's quiet large to hang somewhere.
The package has all the gear you need to hang the light. The light's power cord has this adapter to fit household outlets. Overall its a very solid fixture and feels sturdy when you hold it. After setting it up in the tent, I set the timer to 18 hours and 40% power. It comes with it's own timer system so if you don't have a timer, you don't need one.

A good first week from all the girls overall. They continue to develop as planned. They got watered with the spray bottle until Friday when they got a real watering.

SO, the girls were doing so well into their second week I decided to do the unthinkable... I topped autos! 😳😳🤯🤯
I figured they were doing so well and hadn't entered flower yet; let's do our best to keep them small and get multiple good buds instead of just one. This will also give me the best opportunity to lst them down using ties. Stayed tuned for that!
This girl is doing the best out of them all still. She was the whole real I decided to top them. I'm looking forward to what she'll produce.

This was a quiet week. The girls were recovering from their topping but were also flipping into flower. They have been getting water every two days and that seems to be an issue so I bought an auto watering drip system to install next week.
The gorilla cookies is still the best grower out of the batch and really doing well. Excited to see the girl after some more training.

Lollipopping autos? I topped these autos to see how they would do. So far so well on all but one. But has anyone lollipopped the lower bud sites off or even lower growth that won't mature? I'm thinking about it but looking to see if anyone has any experience
I do LP. Near the very start also. As the 1st set of nodes under the 1st set of fingered fan leafs usually are bunk and don't grow well.
I remove all points were you know it'll get no light. As it'll be more stress on the plant trying to bring that to harvest than if it didn't have it.
You don't have to go extreme. Jst if its tightly packed and deep in r near your main stem anything there won't get light. I've done about 20 autos and the only ones I regret are the ones that are all larfy and possibly could of been helped with a light LP..
Good Growing
This was a week. The drama at the beginning was one of the fans falling down onto my gorilla cookies. It snapped a branch off really bad but the girl hung onto it by threads. I duct taped her up and somehow took. 😎😢
I defoliated and did a little lst on a couple of the girls. Nothing major. Also increased the light to 80% now. I think I'll stay there until late flower when I switch to 12/12.
I also added blocks to a couple of the girls to make the canopy level. That put the light at 15" as recommended by Medic Grow.
This Gorilla Cookie is a beast. Even took a beating from a falling fan but kept going. She'll do the best out of the group I bet.

A more difficult week. I've been battling the water consumption on two of the girls. I ordered and hooked up the Blumats auto watering system. I followed the instructions to a T but they don't work on those settings for this type of plant. They must be recommending for succulents cause the girls dried out right away with the settings. So I've been slowing dialing it in the get the proper amount to release.
This Gorilla Cookie is my problem child right now. She is so delicate. Underwatered all the time. Then when you water a bunch she's overwatered. It's a dumb situation. I've never ran into this. I just think she outgrew her pot too soon and could benefit from synthetic nutrients. She's not gonna get them so tough luck.

Everything went well over vacation! The girls are doing okay overall. They needed bigger pots and it's starting to show overall. Another reason not to use autos cause I can't lollipop. But the watering process is going well.
This Gorilla Cookie is my girl in this tent. She's doing well and hopefully starts to look better. I'm considering using synthetic nutrients in this grow to start giving for power.

There isn't a real smell to the buds. So I can't judge at all. I'll find out when I test smoke them. There is some color to the girl but it's real shine was the vigorous growth and branching. This girl stretched laterally which was perfect.
And that's that! The autos were ready quick at ten weeks time. It went by quick overall. These girls were super easy to grow. However they lack smell. Some good color on them. We'll test them at report back in the rest.

Hey, she is still looking nice and looks like she will stack nicely. I ran into a similar problem with my Gorilla Glue Auto diary I'm growing indoor right now. Maybe this will help. This plant grew pretty huge and I can tell she outgrew her 5gal pot pretty quickly. I was getting constant on and off nutrient burn and not enough water/nutrients when supplying her my usual synthetic slow-release fertilizer. She didn't like that at all, and I ended up switching her mid-flower over to nothing but fermented plant juice. Best input ever and cheap to make. You can use it to give whatever ratio of nutrients your plant needs in a form they can immediately make use of. Maybe a little bro science-y as I don't have numbers, but it's organic, cheap, and it definitely helped the first time I tried it. :)
@PapaNugs, FPJ is awesome stuff and a little goes a very long way. I give some resources in the latest week of my Test6 diary. Simplest thing you can make, especially if you defoliate or prune your plants. Why throw that foliage away? :)
@@resimax, nice! I'll have to check out that diary. Fermented plant juice? That's interesting. I added some top dressing to the pots so hopefully that keeps them going. If yours outgrew the 5 gal you can only imagine the 2 gallon 😅

@PapaNugs, 9 out of 10 auto's always disappoint me in some way, or lacking of taste, not strong enough, and/or yield.
I stick with the photoperiod when growing indoor 😎👊👨🌾
