Speedy Chile Week 4 and it is now early may. First month has been on windowsill indoors. Planning on moving it outdoors next week when weather improves.
Special queen just put seed into the ground. Using mychoriza roots and easy boost pellets in all my plants to stimulate growth.
Three strains.
Speedy Chile has been growing for 8 weeks and has been outside in the ground since approx week 5.
Special queen is 4 weeks old and has been outside since the first week
Orion is only in week 1. Still indoors.
Speedy Chile growing along nicely. Topped almost all the branches to even out the canopy. Aiming for 16 main colas.
Special queen in week 6 and in the process of mainlining. A bit late to begin but wanted to experiment. I already cut the 4 lower side branches but and waiting a week to cut the last two side branches giving plant some time to recover.
Orion in week 3 and growing a long nicely. Not sure yet what technique to apply to it yet. Maybe another mainlining experiment. Will let you know in coming weeks.
Speedy Chile: after topping last week the plant looks very healthy. Its vertical growth has stagnated but this is probably because it is recovering from last week's topping. I expect a large growth spurt next week.
Special queen: 7th week 23 June. Just cut off the last two side branches leaving just the main stem and the four main branches. I also topped the four to make sure it becomes 8 main branches. This is the last time I will top this plant. I applied bending clips to push the four branches apart. I shall wait approx two-weeks now to let the plant recover and allow the 8 branches to grow before I apply one last lst technique where I will bend down the 8 branches one last time using a cord.
Orion week 4: coming along nicely. What amazes me about this strain so far is how close the nodes are together. It's on its 4th to 5th node but its height is similar to a strain that only has grown it's 2nd to 3rd node. Very curious to see how this plant develops.
Speedy Chile: big storm hit Tuesday. I was on a holiday as well so I couldn't be there to sturdy it in time and prevent damage. My gf did what she could by mending it and has now put sticks in as well so the plant has some more stability.
Don't have pictures of other plants for this week but i heard they weathered the storm fine.
Speedy Chile: I came back from holiday and speedy Chile looks recovered. Haven't seen the plant in 2 weeks and amazed to see how far it stretched. Not going to do anything with it now, except maybe reinforce it further as it grows bigger. Curious to see when it starts showing its first signs of pre flowering.
Special queen: she really is starting to look like a queen. The mainlining worked incredibly with it really having a tree like structure. The main 8 shoots seem to be growing a similar pace and I think I even see that first pistils forming. After all the stress I didn't expect to see it so soon. Especially since speedy Chile shows no sign.
Orion: because I was gone I missed the opportunity to bend it over and try some lst techniques. It has grown too much and even started full on flowering. Gonna just let it be now and see what kind of harvest it brings up in a few weeks time.
Speedy Chile: she is really starting to stretch now. Already reaching height 1.80. probably gonna go above the shed soon.... Again just like last year haha. And here I thought this strain only had a maximum height of 160cm haha. Last year I accidentally bought a strain that stretched 4m in the end. Hope this won't be the case again this year.
Special queen: she is looking good. Growth of 8 main branches are going well. Curious to see how it develops coming weeks.
Orion: flowering is going fast. Buds seem like the have the potential to get big. Let's see how they develop coming weeks.
Speedy Chile: this is week 16 and we are two thirds into July. The growing seems to have slowed down but its still in vegetation. Hopefully it doesn't actually grow above the shed again. The tape wrapped around the wound has ripped open due to the thickening of the stem. It is now fully exposing the wound caused by the the storm about two and half weeks ago. Should I cover it again or is the wound healed by this point? I don't want to risk it getting getting budrot again like I had last year.
Special queen: the stems are growing quickly now. She is looking healthy. I cut of some of the yellow looking stems at the bottom so the tree like structure is even more visible now. She also still continues in vegetation.
Orion: this one is only 6 to 7 weeks old and already the buds are starting to grow nicely. The weather has been quite wet lately but luckily the sun comes out sometimes as well. Hopefully there can be one week of full sunshine still before she is ready to harvest. Just to thicken those buds nicely
Sorry for the lack of posts lately. Been hectic holiday with a weekend in Madrid, a bachelor weekend, a friends wedding and afterward a two week holiday through Eastern Europe.
I have a friend who came to take care of the plants and sent me a picture of speedy Chile. Holy cow is that thing big!
The special queen i have no foto of unfortunately. As soon as I return next weekend I shall make an entry for it.
The Orion I harvested right before leaving. It wasn't ready yet but started getting early budrot due to rain. So I harvested early to not let it spread and to make sure it couldn't contaminate other plants when I'm gone.
It is the first week of September and the plant has grown huge. I've been gone for 3 weeks but thankfully the weather has been perfect so no damage or other signs of stress. While I have been gone the plant has started to flower finally. A bit later than described on the package of the seeds but hey, the package also said that outdoor the plant would grow to be 1.70cm max. Well it's twice that size haha. I've started removing some fan leaves to air it better and will continue to do this the coming weeks.
Orion: this plant I harvested right before my holiday. It was a small plant and gave me about 20g of weed. The smoke is a bit harsh but the high is quite good.
Since last week the weather has been amazing. A september blessing. Sun all week with temperatures reaching 30 degrees. The plant looks super healthy and the buds are growing really quick. Which is expected since its a fast flowering strain. The tree, what I call it now, haw stopped stretching and stands at 3.5 meters tall and 2.5m width. Going into the rest of september my biggest worry is weather turns and that mold might appear and ruin the harvest. This was the case last year unfortunately. Luckily the weather looks good for at least another week and since its a fast flowering I have good hopes this year.
Tips are always welcome if anyone would like to advise me for how I should proceed with my plant in the last week's before harvest.
