Here we are at the end of veg growth week 1. The plants are showing strong growth and have been moved to 3.5” pots.
They’re getting about 250ml of water ever 2-3 days at this point. The medium they were transplanted to is fox farm cocoloco. Since this is an enriched coco blend I’ll be giving plan water for a while.
Week 2 is in the books.
The transplant medium, cocoloco, appears to be too hot for these plants. In an attempt to resolve the issue I flushed each plant with rainwater.
Other than that the plants are progressing alright. Hoping to not have too much of a slowdown with this issue
The plants were moved to their final 3 gal pots after only 11 days in the 3.5” pots.
One plant is looking healthy, the other has/had some major issues. I think that plant was more sensitive to the nutrient dense soil.
After transplanting the plants had grown 1.5” in 2 days so I figured they were growing well enough for a top.
They were at 7 and 8 nodes and were taken down to the 3rd node. I left the 2nd node growth on the plants for now. Once the plants get more foliage I’ll be stripping those 2nd nodes.
The plan is to top twice for 4 main colas on each plant. This strain is supposed to stretch a lot so I’m hoping for nice tall colas
Another week down. This week the plants received their 2nd topping.
The plant on the right is continuing to grow strong, but the left plant is still struggling. Not sure what the issue is but we will keep moving along
Another week down. This time I was gone for 5 days and the plants had no problem.
I’m considering tossing the weak plant and just focusing on the strong one. It’s double the size and more workable for training.
For now I’m starting LST on the big plant and hoping the smaller one catches up
This week while doing some LST I snapped one of the mains off the big plant. I decided instead of stripping everybody below the main growth, I will use one of the offshoots as a new main.
Cocoloco was for sure too hot for these plants when they were little. Would recommend mixing with plain coco.
The shape of the plants is almost where I want it. I’ll likely switch to 12/12 later this week. The breeder states this strain stretches 2-3 times so I’m hoping to have enough room in the tent
Lots of growth this week. The bigger plant is really exploding with growth. The smaller one may be the 20% of plants the breeder claims will be small but colorful. It’s small but I’m going to keep it.
I have most of the structure set up the way I want now. I’ll be switching to 12/12 now as the breeder says 2-3x stretch and I have a small tent
First week of 12-12. A few days ago I completed a heavy defoliation of both plants. Both plants responded nicely.
Both plants have showed sex as female. As always, the larger plant is moving along a little quicker
The smaller plant ended up being a male. It has since been removed. The good news is it gave me plenty of room to spread out the other plant.
That plant seems to be growing strong with nice internodal spacing
Another week down. The plant is really starting to look nice. Purple color is spreading and trichs are on the flowers and leaves. The smell has also significantly increased this week.
Hoping the smooth sailing continues
Things continue to go well. This is a really nice plant. The purple is coloring is spreading and the buds are really starting to swell. The trichome production has also been crazy and the smell is really starting to come through
Just plumping up over here. Week 9 of flower is in the books. This strain is 9 weeks per the breeder and it’s looking pretty accurate. I could probably pull this plant now but I want to make sure it reaches its full potential. Stay tuned
10 weeks in flower. Man oh man are these flowers getting chunky. The tops especially are filling out. Shouldn’t be much time left but I’m not going to rush it
Today is chop day! 11 full weeks of flower. These buds really filled in during the last week. Plenty of Amber trichomes creeping in so I’m excited to see the final results.
I’ll be removing the fan leaves and hanging the whole plant as close to 60f/60% as I can get it. Hoping for 10-12 days to dry
Overall I’m incredibly happy with how this grow turned out. I ended up with 122 grams of absolute top shelf fire. Incredible trichome production, sticky sticky bud dripping with gassy terps.
The plant overall was an easy grow. She had really great internodal spacing and had a really nice stretch. The buds on this plant are very dense but spaced enough that mold isn’t an issue
