Hello and welcome to the Hawaiian Snow Diary! This time around we will be running two long flowering sativas, one being the Hawaiian Snow from GHSC and the other being a Purple Pakistani Haze from ACE Seeds. I'm a big fan of Greenhouse Seed Company. The Super Lemon Haze is my all time favorite cultivar, with my recently grown Lemon Orange fighting for the top spot! I've heard wonderful things about the Hawaiian Snow, and as a big fan of Sativas I needed to get my hands on some seeds. I'm very excited to grow her and see what she does! These kinds of plants are supposedly a different beast altogether. They flower for 12+ weeks and their stretch lasts for eternity, easily outgrowing your tent if you let them. Heavy training is mandatory. I will be low stress training, topping, scrogging, you name it to keep the height down. This is my first time growing a plant like this and I am very excited. Started germination on 6/20 with the glass of water/paper towel method and had issues. The first seed was very slow to sprout, and her taproot was very short. She made it into the soil, but never fully sprouted. Started germination on another seed a few days after the first and had to baby her to get her to sprout right. Put her in a 50/50 mix of light warrior and happy frog with some worm castings and she sprouted on 6/29.

Welcome to the first week of the Hawaiian Snow! The first seed didn't sprout properly and the second required to be babied in order to sprout. That being said, she's sprouted and is loving life. I plan on vegging her out only for 3-4 weeks before flip. I understand that these long flowering sativas stretch like crazy and I don't want her to outgrow the tent. I'll be topping her as soon as I can and want to give her at least a week after topping before flip, although I don't know how realistic this is. I plan on transplanting her the same day as the Purple Pakistani Haze despite her being a bit immature for that. This is because the HS is a few days behind the PPH. Wish me luck and see you next week!

Good growth on the Hawaiian Snow this week. No issues outside of a fungus nat or two. I transplanted her early on day 11 as I also needed to transplant the PPH. Her roots look nice. I sprinkled some myco on her roots and transplanted her into a 10 gallon fabric pot in 50% Ocean Forest and 50% Happy Frog. I expect to top her in the next coming days.

Glad to report total bug death. No more fungus nats :D. Continuing good growth through week three and topped on day 15. I topped her a bit early but that should be fine. I also put the SCROG net up this week. I want to keep these girls as low as possible. Seeing as its been three weeks, I'll be flipping tomorrow at the start of week 4.

I flipped her this week and glad I did. She is growing like crazy. Its only been a week but its been difficult to keep her under the net. Been training her out pretty well though and will continue to do so. No pistils yet. Expecting them in maybe another week or two. Put her on 11/13 instead of 12/12.

Pretty good growth since flip last week. No pistils yet, but expect to see them in a week or so. The Hawaiian Snow is growing just as fast as the PPH so I'm pretty happy about that. Hopefully the stretch around the same as well. I have a feeling I'm going to have trouble with the SCROGGING as they grow super fast, but we will see. No need to feed yet. Will probably feed in about two weeks or so. Good temps and humidity in the tent.

She hermed and I didn't notice. Nanners all over her, some of which opened and dumped pollen already in the tent. What a fucking nightmare. Both plants were nothing but in good health. I have no light leaks. The only thing I could thing of that could have stressed the plant out enough to herm is a brief period where I had to turn the exhaust off in the tent (2-3 hours) where the temp reached up to 99f! The Purple Pakistani Haze in the same tent did not herm. Unfortunately pollen dropped before I was able to catch her and the PPH is now most likely pollinated. The chances of the PPH not being pollinated are low, however i'll keep growing the PPH out until I notice seeds in her. Then I will most likely just chop.
