tomatenmark69 Out of 5 seeds, 3 have germinated. I used Easy Plugz, but next time I'll go back to the paper towel method. I now have the 3 in a mini greenhouse under a Sanlight Flex 10. I currently have 5 other plants as test subjects in the tent that are about 2 weeks old. Those were random seeds from the weed, so I don't know what strain they are or if they'll turn out to be females.

tomatenmark69 The Chemdogs are no longer in the greenhouse and are now in the tent under the Sanlight Evo. I've dimmed it to 40% so far, and the distance is about 50 cm. The pH level of my tap water is a bit too high, but when I add the nutrients next week, it should be fine, so I'm not adjusting it.

tomatenmark69 Since this week, the Chemdogs are getting their first grow nutrients. The one on the left still looks a bit weaker. Unfortunately, I didn't take many pictures at that time.

tomatenmark69 Last week, I repotted into 7.5 l fabric pots. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures. They have recovered well from the repotting. This week, I tried my hand at LST and FIMing, and I also did some defoliation. One of the three plants has a significantly lighter green, but I suspect that's due to the phenotype.

tomatenmark69 Last week, I shortened the lighting time by an hour each day, and now I'm at 12 hours of light. The lamp is now dimmed to 60%. The plants look really beautiful, and I get excited every time I see them. This week, it was very rainy here, and the humidity was really high (over 70%). Out of fear of mold, I got a second clip fan that runs all the time now. One or two isolated leaves also had brown/yellow spots. I'm now proactively adding some Cal-Mag to the water. But as long as it doesn't happen more frequently, I'm not too worried yet. I also kept one plant from the random seeds.

tomatenmark69 This week, the lollipopping took place. The first real flower sites are now visible :). The lamp's power was set to 80%, and I hung a CO2 bag in the tent. The bag is hanging in front of one of the clip fans, and I hope the CO2 reaches the plants that way. The water has a too low pH level due to the increased nutrient addition, and I'm currently adjusting this with pH+ from Biobizz.

tomatenmark69 The smell is slowly getting stronger and the buds are getting bigger. This week I put something under the smaller plants to even out the height. One plant has light green spots on the leaf edges. I wonder if I over-fertilized it? I'm going to wait and keep watering as usual while I observe. Also, I've used my Sanlight Flex as interlighting, as can be seen in the pictures. I'm really looking forward to the next few weeks :)

Hi Tomatenmark69. It’s could be over fertiliser. Flash with ph balanced clear water, check run off water ppm and ph. If ph high try to reduce it with clear water, if ph low then try to increase ph level. If ppm is higher 1500ppm, stop feeding with nutrients but using only ph balanced clear water for one week minimum and keep monitoring watering ph and ppm scores. When everything go back in normal ph 6-6.7ph, but ppm max 1000ppm start add nesesery nutrients depend how fare you are.

tomatenmark69 This week I skipped Cal/Mag and will only use it every 3rd watering in the future, as one plant still has yellow spots on the leaves. However, they haven't increased, so I'm not too worried. Maybe it's normal since autumn is slowly starting for the plants. I'll be feeding the plants for about another week and a half, then they'll only get pH-corrected water. I'm getting more and more worried about mold, as the humidity at night is 63%. Next week, I want to install an active intake using PC fans. I hope that the active intake and the 2 clip fans will be enough to lower the levels. Unfortunately, the exhaust is already running at maximum.

tomatenmark69 This week they were fertilized for the last time. Next time, I will start watering them with stale pH-adjusted water. For that, I will use Bio-Down from BioBizz. A couple of the upper petals of the "unknown" strain are starting to develop yellow tips, and they are getting some purple discoloration. I hope that’s because the "autumn" for the plants is starting now. But it could also be a sign of over-fertilization. However, since the flushing is starting now, it should be fine. The smell is already very intense, and the buds are beautiful; for my first grow, I am more than satisfied :). I just hope that mold doesn’t develop now, as the humidity has been around 70% in the last few nights. During the day, it's about 50-55%. I hope the circulation is sufficient with my 2 clip fans. Next week, I want to install active intake with PC fans; the power supply I ordered doesn’t seem to work.. I’m now waiting for the new one.

tomatenmark69 Yesterday I harvested the "unknown" since many trichomes were already amber and I didn't want to leave them for another week; they even started to purple a bit. The others should be ready next week as well. Their leaves are also slowly turning yellow, autumn is coming.

tomatenmark69 In 2 days, they will be sent into darkness for 48 hours and then harvested. I've been flushing them for 2 weeks now and check them daily with the microscope. Pheno 1 is already very ripe; the other two could still use a few more days, but I will harvest them all at the same time. This way, I also have a comparison between different ripeness levels.

Für den ersten Grow eine gute Sortenwahl. Bin mit dem Ergebnis sehr zufrieden. Riecht sehr nice nach Diesel und ist schon recht smooth. Noch ein paar Wochen im Glas und es wird glaube sehr geil :D

@tomatenmark69, I'm really glad that your first experience is positive. Enjoy your harvest and savor the well-deserved work. The most beautiful hobby in the world. I'm looking forward to many new German gardens and an even bigger broccoli culture. Finding the perfect amount of nutrients from seed to harvest is still a challenge for me even after 25 years of "gardening." About 10 days before the planned harvest, a fading (wilting = autumn colors depending on the strain) should be visible on the plant. The buds also taste better when there is as little N (nitrogen) in the final product as possible. I'm already excited for your next grow. All the best, Landmann, and #keep on Growing😎
tomatenmark69
tomatenmark69 commented3y ago
@Stony_German, Thanks for the tips! :) Yeah, I only had real wilting of the leaves with the 1st pheno; the others just had slightly yellow edges. They could have probably gone another week, but due to the pretty high humidity at the time, I decided to harvest earlier. I was afraid everything would mold on me the first time. But I can only agree with you, it’s a really nice hobby, and you can always improve or optimize something. Even after 25 years, it apparently doesn’t get boring, and you can still learn more. Wishing you all the best and big harvests too 🙏😀

Hey brother, congratulations, so far it's an excellent first grow, you can tell you bought quality material and also did your research. Regarding the leaves, I think it could be a potassium deficiency (which fattens your buds, be careful), it could also be an excess of potassium even though it sounds illogical haha, it might be causing a blockage and the plant wouldn't be absorbing other important micronutrients, only you will know if you overdid it or if you fell short. Cheers, hope this helps 🙌🏼🌱
Papapeyote
Papapeyote commented3y ago
@tomatenmark69, You're right, it could have been caused by low pH. When the soil pH is unbalanced, plants don't absorb nutrients as they should. And what I meant about potassium is that if you had a deficiency or unbalanced pH, that could result in your buds being weak and soft. As for the fungus issue, if you have good temperature, humidity, ventilation, and some preventive measures, you shouldn't worry. It also looks like they've recovered wonderfully; I'm sure you'll harvest some pretty good buds! 🌱🙌🏽

@tomatenmark69, I wouldn't give up my Bluelab pH meter, but you can calibrate exactly 10 liters of tap water. Just measure how many ml or drops you need to get the 10 liters to pH 6 to 7 with your kit as accurately as possible. That worked for me for 15 years. Our tap water in Germany is quite stable. All the best, buddy.
tomatenmark69
tomatenmark69 commented3y ago
@Stony_German, hey I only added CalMag from Biobizz to the water once a week towards the end (previously at every watering) and it seemed to do them good. In the meantime, I also bought a pH meter (Pancellent on Amazon), it's quite cheap and actually meant for pools, but I can measure pH, EC, and TDS with it and so far it works great. The one from Bluelab was still a bit too expensive for me but is definitely of higher quality :D
