Dr. Tombs Pheno Hunt

I'm growing 4 different plants (pineapple express #2, skullcap and my fire strain Critical Kush) while trying to find new fire mothers in some of them. Obviously growing Multiple strains on one side of the 4x8 Tent under one light will squew numbers so hoping for the best I'm running Ebb and Flow 5gal Buckets under a double scrog net. I use a scarecrowtechnique I've picked up from Max420THC. I'm growing in 100% pure perlite since transplanting from coco coir solo cups and 1gal. I'm running the Lucas Formula which requires only the General Hydroponics Micro and Bloow at a ratio of 8ml micro and 16ml bloom/gal. Ill also be adding Calmag, Turantula (for 1 week, used it in veg as well) pond enzyme cleaner (2-4 weeks) and potassium Silica. I cloned all these plants and they have been in solo cups for 3 weeks then 1gal for 1.5week. I've FIMed and cropped the tops selecting 4 terminal stems. I've moved them into the final 5gal buckets under 1000w HPS 18hr/6hr (bulbs will be replaced with new bulbs when i flip to 12/12) and after setting them I place I trimmed the tops even. Once the tops are even, I removed every lower sucker at each node (see pics) leaving just the 4 tops to shoot up. Ill veg for 1 - 2weeks (my judgement) before flipping to 12/12. Plants are growing nicely. Pineapple Express is very Indica Dominant. Skull Cap looks like a tall plant, which may be good next to my Critical Kush which always ends a tad tall. Hopefully one of the new strains is a keeper like this Critical Kush.

Update: New bulbs came in, always the cheapest I can find. In this case $30/bulb. I always run my bulbs new from start of bloom to the end, then I finish the bulbs on the veg cycle of the new runs. Flipped to 12/12 today and adjusted the flood and drain cycles.

Plants doing well and in actuality they are all staying decently even for the canopy which is definitely a plus, it means ill likely be able to get a deeper light penetration and thus more production.. i know exactly what to expect from the Critical as ive grown it out a few times before. Im interested in the Pineapple Express, it is very very Indica dominant, with the biggest fan leaves ive had yet.

Skullcap is very stretchy, not sure i will grow it again as it doesn't really fit my grow style. There is a good 4-6 inches between nodes. The Pineapple Express #2 has the biggest leaves i have grown on a plant. My prize plant the Critical Kush is growing as expected, but its starting to be dwarfed by the plants around it. That means i wont hit as high of numbers with the lack of penetration.

Wow have these skullcaps really stretched. They now tower over the critical kush, and even the pineapple express #2. It's unfortunate, i had a solo cup of the skullcap. It was extremely crystally, and very purple leaves, but it didn't seem to bulk all that much.

I finally had a chance to try out the Skullcap solo cup that I grew out after finding it was female. This plant is very crystally and has a dark purple look from the leaves. Ill definitely need to maintain a 10*F temp swing from day to night temps. Everything is moving along nicely on the screen and new sump pump is working great. Changing res everytime i go through a full add back of fresh water, which should be in the next 2-3days.

Plants are doing great and smells are really coming out. Had to move the lights up slightly as i noticed that the (15) Pineapple Express #2was getting slight light burn.

Plants are doing great, hoping to harvest in 2.5 weeks. I'll start a flush in the next couple days.

Plants are looking awesome. Skullcap is extremely frosty, the whole tent reeks and no hiccups. I've noticed that the (14) pineapple express #2 seems to be less dense of a bud cola, its looking like the (15) Pineapple express #2 is the better version. If it doesn't tighten up this one's out of the running. I already got rid of the skullcap mom, great quality, but not the quantity I wanted to see.

Excellent looking buds on this skullcap. Congratulations @KarmaGenetics on a well crafted plant. Purples really pop and has excellent trichome production. Best of all these manicured dense buds wiegh in at 860g wet. I've never hit that before. Just to give you an idea the Dinafem Critical 2.0 which produced 1.9p of bud dry had a wet weight on average of 456g/plant.

Not sure what exactly happened to this strain. It was never a good producer, however it now seems to be even worse. It averaged 128g/plant. I did have a meneral oil leak from a sump pump and the intake for cold outside air was by the roots of the 4.plants, although it should be noted that a plant next to these did have 860g with the similar conditions and environment. Time to retire the ol' girl.

Two different pheno. One was higher yielding, but unfortunately very poor density. The leaf ratio was high as well. This resulted in a very frustrating trim. Unfortunately I never took photos of that pheno. The other one was a much better cola structure, it also had a much better leaf to bud ratio as well. As you can see from the pictures. Unfortunately neither seeds resulted in qualites what I'm looking for. There is a definite sweetness to the odor.
