Germinated two seeds in moist paper towel soak with nutrient solution. Each seed took approximately two days to germinate. Next, they were transferred into a roto rooter plug and took another day or so to pop out of the soil. Both plugs were in seed starter tray with a ton of humidity and on a heat pad.
Had a learning experience this week. I started measuring runoff EC, I had no idea I was supposed to keep track of this figure. The runoff EC was 3000+ so I began flushing twice daily. The runoff EC is getting lower and under control. However, I think I need a few more days of flushing with CaMg ph 6.2 agua. Plants are still growing well and starting to smell really nice. Also, I switched nutrients to the General Hydroponics Flora series. I am following this feed chart with the nutes that I actually own. https://www.cocoforcannabis.com/mixnutes/ I can't wait!!
Topped all the plants this week at the 4 or 5 node. Defoliated lower leaves and trying to train 8-12 colas. Flushing as worked well as the runoff EC is under control around 1150. Things are looking good!
Been fertigating twice per day with lower EC solution, around 900-950. The run off was creeping upwards towards +500 again for around 1300-1500 EC. Not a bad number in my opinion but I don't like the wide spread of input to output EC. Also, elevated these lovely girls for better air circulation. Eventually, I will install an automated runoff pumping system with a condensate pump. Currently, I have to move the plants out to fertigate, remove the old runoff and then return the plants. I like checking on the plants every day but moving the plants is getting a little old. Hopefully, the work will pay off!
This week I noticed some leaves started to get spots on them and determined it might be a fungus. I removed all the bad leaves and added cedar wood chip mulch. I love the way the cedar looks and smells! No longer seeing signs of fungus/spots. Also, added a dehumidifier to the tent to keep humidity lower for next stages and to lower risk of fungus. Did a lot of training/trimming to get the colas forming in the direction I want the plant to grow. I am anticipating good yields!
This week I added a condensate pump to deal with runoff and water from the dehumidifier. The thing works great! I attached 3/8" ID hose to each drip tray and then route the hose to the condensate pump. I no longer have to move the plants around when watering!
The growth this week has been great! I am planning on flipping to flower in 1-2 weeks. These babies are starting to smell wonderful, I can't imagine when the buds start forming!
Another decent week of growth. I changed the fertigation schedule to just once per day as I am trying to control humidity in the tent. The condensate pump works great with the auto draining plant saucers, such a nice improvement. I am planning on flipping to flower in the next few days.
First week of flower, flipped on 10/3/23. I also put a trellis in the tent to hopefully match the canopies of each plant. I have two plants that need to catch up. Also, switched the feed schedule and nutrients. I noticed some nutrient burn on a few leaves but not bad. I dosed a smaller nutrient amount to remedy the nutrient burn.
One thing I learned recently was I was defoliated too much. I would defoliate daily but I think I stunted the growth. I am going to hold of defoliating for a few weeks.
Spent the week trying to maintain a consistent canopy height for all the plants; smaller plants are slowly catching up. Defoliated one day the lower canopy to help grow tops. A steady week of growth with few issues. As a preventative measure, I sprayed with Neem oil twice before defoliation.
The two plants in front are for this grow. Front right seems stunted in growth, I am curious how she delivers come harvest.
Very strong week of flowering growth. This tent is exploding with new growth both height and budding nodes. Watering schedule has just been once per day in the am. I am monitoring runoff EC around 1300-1350. All plants appear to be female!
These girls are two weeks behind the other plants in the tent. However, I was forcing the larger plants under the trellis to help these girls catch up and they have!
This baby took off like a rocket ship this week! So much growth and really nice bud nodes forming. Performed a bit of LST to keep the tallest colas away from the lights.
The budding colas are really starting to form. Removed the Flora Micro (Nitrogen) from the feeding schedule to help with bud formation. Defoliated mid week.
Another solid week of bud formation. I have been focused on keeping the humidity around 50% or lower. The dehumidifier inside the tent is not keeping up. I have to keep the tent open and have a floor fan exhausting the room.
Another week of solid bud growth. I have two dehumidifiers running to keep the moisture down and they are doing very well. I definitely think this tent is meant for two plants instead of four.
Another solid week of nugget growth. I have been watering twice per day with each plant getting 0.5 gallons per watering. I typically use nutrients in the am and then flush when needed in the afternoon. Nute burn seems to be minial at this point.
