This strain stretches like crazy in the initial phases of flower. They take nearly two weeks after flipping the light to start to show signs of bloom. The smell is a sweet citrus fuel. It has uneven internodal growth and the buds are mostly small and dense.

No sign of any real help here. And it makes the water tank nasty. Ive tossed it out.
I am not convinced that this has helped my grow at all. Seems like just another unnecessary product.

12/10: Harvest Today i harvested the plants… wow what a pain in the back it was. I decided to just cut away both of the trellis nets, cause it was going to be too much work to get the plants out of it whole. I chopped them down, tied them to hangers, then weighed them whole, and the. I trimmed away any fan leaves that did not have any sugar on them. All of this took about 4.5 hours and was a bunch of manual labor, done sober. This is the first time i have weighed the weight hole plants at harvest. I weighed them with a fish scale. They game out to exactly 200oz of total weight. 54.7oz 50.0oz 46.7oz 48.6oz My favorite of the plants and the one that I currently have a clone of weighed in at 48.6oz of total plant material. Its pretty interesting to see how different the weights have been. I will dry them in the 4x4 maintaining around 60% RH for around 8-14 days depending on how quickly they dry. Ill be back here with the final dry bud weight after they have finished and I’ve trimmed them.

I’m going to Scrog for the first time. I’m planning to put on the trellis in a day or two. My question is, should I switch these to flower right after adding in the trellis, to try to use the initial pre-flower stretch to help fill the trellis?

You're in a 4x4 tent, with 4 plants scrogging them. I don't wanna burst your bubble, but your gonna be so over crowded you won't believe your eyes. When you scrog with a trellis, you gotta do a defoliation 7 days prior to light flip. Strip em down. Take big fan leaves off and any light obstructive foliage. Also remove low growth that is certain to not produce much. Give them a week to recover, then flip to 12/12. Continue to tuck the plant under the trellis for the next 7 to 10 days, then let them go on their own till the stretch is complete. At day 21, do your last defoliation and make sure your canopy has ample room and space for airflow and so that light can penetrate through to the lower plant. Then just keep your nutes and pH on point. Hopefully you have your temp and humidity dialed in, so if thats the case just watch em grow! You'll agree with me when your done that 4 in a 4x4 tent scrog is too much. 2 is much better, 3 max. Hell you could do 1 in a 7 gallon pot and scrog it in all directions and fill the entire space, and your yield wouldn't be all that different. But you will notice that you spent less on nutrients cuz you watered 1 plant instead of 4. Hope this helps. And just as a reference for you. I'm a old legacy pirate grower from British Columbia Canada. Been growing since i was 14 years old. I'm 52 now and i still grow. So i've got a bit of experience and knowledge that ive picked up along the way.

@AutoflowersSucK, Hey! Thanks for the info. Im already realizing that it is probably going to be a little much. :-) I'm actually dreading what I expect will be a lot of maintainace as a result. Also, this strain is not very mold or bud rot resistant, and so I am going to really have to keep the humidity dialed in. SHouldnt be to big of a problem, as winter sets in over the next month, is stays in the low to mid 40% here without me needing to help it much. Though with the water always setting in the autopots, it will be a bit higher in the tent. The AC Infinity system will help with is a lot with all of the automated triggers. And I have a pretty great dehumidifier outside of the tent as well. a few weeks into flower, I am planning to keep it around 45% and temps aroun 70-75f. But yes, I am going to have to really keep up on the defoliation for sure. I've over done it. Thanks again for stoping in and taking a look.

Just a little advice take it for what it's worth with nothing but the best intentions - analyzing your plants from the included photos I noticed very light chlorophyll absorption and to remedy this you would need 6 parts of the equation; part 1 - more rich BLUE with UVA/UVB 310-385nm light keeps them plants short and internodes tight/stacked - ideal or what your doing SCROG - part 2 - increase nitrogen and maintain through flower to keep nitrogen fixing compounds to be active and then the normal high dose of phosphorus part 3 - BRIX levels - keep them sugars going - I would personally recommend Terpinator, Purplenator, and Sugaree - these are very nice balance of plant available sugars; and part 4 - Beneficial Bacteria & Fungi, part 5 - Liquid Karma (Liquid Carbon) ; part 6 - Chitin - secret weapon - non - plant food - top dress for your plants (polysaccharides) increase the TERPS/Flavonoids. I know this seems like a lot of extra work but this will make you a scientific cultivator of very valuable medicinal compounds. Best of luck ! Grow On!! ;-)~

@boutique_buddz, all that sounds lovely. But I’ll stick with the lights I have. They get the job done and work to grow all of the delicious bud I could need. I’m already able to grow amazing weed with what I have. I feel like adding anything new would just be a marginal difference for prices that are likely not worth the cost to upgrade.

@@DaMunchies, Yes indeed "color" is very key due to the plant being a photon accumulator ;-)~ Light - this my friend is your #1 friend / photon quality, energy, color temperature, and IP rating 65 or 66 is preferred due to it being more water tight / dust proof, etc. Light choices ------------ Floro, CMH, HPS, LED, Plasma - these are the main choices - For the 400-800NM spectral range I personally use Plasma by Gavita LEP SUP 41.01 - I use it because it keeps plants very short, compact, allows for training and plant steering, as well as it has UVA & UVB this keeps the bugs away so no issues with bugs whatsoever; in addition the extra rich BLUE & GREEN in the spectrum allows for the plant to not want to make seeds thus if you have regular sex seeds this will promote females - through my trials ;-). Further, the rich BLUE, GREEN, and UV A/B in the Plasma helps secondary metabolites to form very early and anthocyanin to accumulate as well - purple striping in the stem/leaf. For the big show - flower phase - I add a LED by Gavita Pro 1930 - it's on a dimmer so I can step it up and down on the PPFD. This light is very high quality and gives a superior coverage and has the IP rating I required and the spectrum I wanted to use with my Plasma and the below mentioned UV lights. Lastly, I use Migro UV-B/A lights & Solacure Flower Power UV lights with the above to create the most cannabinoid, terpinoid, flavanoid content I can with the most advanced technology to date. This is in my earnest honest opinion and through lab tests to be the very best setup one can use to steer this plant to achieve the above mentioned results. I hope this helps my fellow cultivator!

@boutique_buddz, Gotcha, so the color is the indicator for you, the light green of the leaves? I’ve actually cut back the nitrogen in them a bit as I noticed leave being very dark, I may have over compensated there also. As for light, what more would I be aiming to achieve in my outcome that I am not able to with my current light? I never would have considered that these lights are not covering the tent appropriately in a good spectrum.

popcornsutton

why would you leave out the 'light to plant distance'and the pot size? so many folks looking for this info. looks good nevertheless
DaMunchies
DaMunchiescommenteda year ago
@popcornsutton, Hey growmie! Thanks for checking out my grow. Good questions. I'd guess in this case it would just be the result of my own mistake in terms of pot size. Looks like you were looking at a week prior to my adding the pot size. Its in there now on later weeks. They are 6.9 gallon pots by AutoPot USA. They are very large, though I honestly have not noticed a great difference between these large post and my much smaller AutoPots, as the drip system seems to allow the plant to get as much water and nutes as they needs to properly fill out even with a smaller pot size. As for lighting, I have never actually measured light distance, but always just kind of guess, leaving it somewhere around 30ish inches or so typically. However, late in a grow like this, that distance is significantly less as a result of vertical space. Right now, the light is as high as I can get it while keeping my inline fan in the tent, and I have some colas that are as close as around 7-9 inches to the light. This is not ideal of course, and the top colas will likely have a bit of light burn or coloring differences than the lower growth, but will still end up being great bud. I am in no way a scientific grower. And though I know a lot of people try to keep everything exactly right all the time, I did when I first started - or so I tried. However I found that I enjoy growing more when I just wing it with an expectation of some decent bud, while ultimately always ending up with amazing bud and having a good time growing because I did not stress about making sure that everything was exactly right all the time. Many people may put in the work for perfection, and will likely end up with wonderful product, but I know that I can get product that will impress me, without sweating perfection. If you are new to growing, a tip I would have wished I had taken earlier in my grow journey is to just do what feels right at the time. These plants are very resistant, and like all other living things, they want to survive. Outside of a pest or mold issue, growing them is hard to mess up, and perfection isn't necessary at all. In fact, it would be hard to grow your own weed that isn't a better quality that you will get in a typical dispensary. Hope this helps! Good luck in your growing!
AutoflowersSucK
AutoflowersSucKcommentedweek 6a year ago
I had a look at your question but it didn't seem to have a way for me to respond. In regards to a scrog trellis. You put that sucker in your tent day 1. You have it 6 to 8 inches off the top of your pots. Top your plants so you get 2 tops and to promote side branching. Start to trellis them from the beginning. And don't weave them over and under the trellis, cuz when it's time to harvest you'll regret weaving 😫 Just tuck under to the next square and so on. When you feel the time is right (based on space and plant size) you can flip to flower. Continuing to tuck when the flowering stretch begins is up for debate. Reason being, you might tuck a really nice big juicy growth tip under and then when you plant is done stretching, that top won't rise up enough to get max potential out of it. I would say based on my experience, and of course this advice is strain dependant, because they all have different stretch characteristics, fill your canopy 3/4. Leave 25% for continued tuck for the first 5 days of flower, 7 days max depending on how fast or slow they take off with stretching. Then, let all the tops go up up and away. Yes, they will be crowded with foliage, but they shouldn't be super bad because i know you defoliated 7 days before you flipped to 12/12....right?? πŸ˜‰ So, by day 21 they should be about done with vertical growth. Now you do a final defoliation to allow for light penetration and to expose all your tops to direct light, and watch your yield be epic!
