Plant is looking great. Already showing sex. The light is at 50% power and leaves are praying as I had hoped. Oscillating fan circulating air around the plant.
The plant is really growing in height. The light is on at 50% but some do the new leaves are getting a little bleached on the tips still. Trying to keep the light at the right distance to reduce stretch but not damage the plant. Otherwise it is growing great. Calyxes are forming nicely as she goes into flower.
The plant is looking strong and growing quickly. Bud formation is strongest on the main cola. Trichomes are visible on the leaves surrounding the bud sights. What I thought was light burn was actually nutrient burn. I flushed the plant with 5 gallons of 6-6.5 pH water. Effluent was 6-6.5 ph. I have cut way back on the nitrogen. Nutes are given every other watering.
The plant is now in a larger ten with an S33 light at 6 and supplemental light bars at 5. DLI on main cola is 40. The leaves are still praying towards the light.
I'm overall still very happy. There still appears to be some nitrogen toxicity / nutr burn. The leaves tips are still coming in yellow at the very top but that doesn't get any worse as the leaves grow out. The fan leaves are clawing down now a bit so I have cut out all nutrients other than PHed water and cal/mag. I am watering everyday now. Otherwise the plant is growing nicely buds and the sugar leaves are covered with tricomes. I can tell this will be a frosty plant. The smell is starting to pick up as well.
She is heading into the home stretch here. The fan leaves are starting to fade and yellow. Over the past week or so about 30-50% of the pistols have browned. Tricomes are still basically clear. I have increased the light intensity 10% this week to 80% to help fatten the flowers up. They seem to be putting on some girth nicely over the past two weeks as I have increased the light. The smell is very nice. It's earthy with a hint of gas.
If you touch the resin and smell it, it is very gassy at first but fades into a somewhat sweet (fruit loops) smell. I love it.
She has greened back up a bit. It appears that the fade was probably a nitrogen deficiency. Adding back in the Tiger blom has helped quite a bit. Regardless, the buds are fattening up and looking good to me. While this isn't going to be a perfect grow, it will be my best buds yet. The trichomes are still pretty clear but I do see some cloudiness starting to come in.
This plant has been interesting. It looks like it should be done but the trichomes are still mostly clear. I wanted to harvest it this week but it's just not really there. I vaped a teast bud and it had some good effects. Very heady with a little body high setting in after an hour.
About two weeks ago almost all of the pistols were brown. I would say 90% of them at least. However, in the past 5 days, a new set of pistols have emerged and the buds are bettering up nicely still so I'll let it be and check back next week. Very excited and it should be a good harvest for sure.
As stated in the week by week notes, I had some nutrient issues in flowering and I think that made the plant not look it's best. However, it was a very resilient plant and produced nice buds. I was not sure on the timeline to harvest because I couldn't find it on the website. Either way, I watered it before I went on vacation for a week and it was very dry when I came back (as planned) and I harvested at that point. The trichomes were not as cloudy/amber as I would have liked but high is still very nice. I look forward to grow again.
