Aug 7 to 12 - I got sick and I was unable to harvest the plants as I had planned for this week.
- I'll be harvesting them tomorrow.
Sun Aug 13 - I harvested 3 of the 5 plants. It took quite a while even though I am using the bud bowl trimmer. I like to
save the shake that comes off the buds and lands in the bowl, but I don't want all of these pointless leafs,
so I do tend to give them a bit of a trim before putting them through the bowl trimmer. That adds to my
time greatly, but at least the bowl trimmer saves me a lot of time for the final trim.
- The reason why I only got through 3 of the plants instead of all 5 is that 2 of the tree had over 1 lb of bud
each!!!
Mon Aug 14 - I finished harvesting the last 2 plants. One of the plants had just under a pound of bud and the other had just
over a pound of bud. Once it was trimmed, it was 382grams and 439grams respectively.
- I like to trim the bud when they are fresh since I use the bowl trimmer. Although it does say that it can be
used for both fresh and dry buds, I find it works better when the buds are fresh.
- One of the two plants that I trimmed felt a bit dry so I had trimmed that one just to ensure I didn't loose too
much bud due to the bowl trimmer.
- I feel that it was a bit dry because I had originally intended to harvest the plants last week but I got sick and
wasn't able to until yesterday and today.
- The only things I added to this grow is the ChitoSal, which is used for germination and to promote more
trichomes, Floralicious, whichs helps the bud create more natual aromatic oils, and Microbial Mass Pro, which
helps increase the root structure.
- So, the only thing new that would explain the insane increase in bud size and weight would be the
Microbial Mass Pro, since bigger roots means bigger fruits…although, there could be something said with
regards to having more natural oil production within the buds and that could have increased the weight a bit
as well.
- When I emptied the grow bags to check out the soil and the roots, I noticed that the roots had penetrated
the soil all the way to the bottom, where my previous grows, the roots were about 3/4 of the way to the bottom
of the grow bag. I believe this is definitely the result of using the Microbial Mass Pro.
- For the fresh and trimmed weight of the previous grow, the AK-47 averaged 250grams per plant.
The Bluberry 420 averaged 268grams per plant.
This New York Turbo Diesel averaged 398grams per plant! That's a 59% increase over AK-47 and 49% increase
over Blueberry 420.
- The plants should be finished drying on Aug 28, so at that point I'll make sure the buds are dry, weight them
and them give my final full analysis what the plants produced. I'm going to estimate based on my previous
grows, that I'm going to end up with 454 grams of dried bud. I'm basing this on the average amount of weight
lost to drying for both of my last grows as around the 77% to 78%. So if I apply that math the amount of fresh,
trimmed bud, which is 1,990.28grams, then I should end up with close to 1 pound. We'll see how close I am
in a couple of weeks.
