Sun Apr 23 - I germinated the seeds. I put the seeds into water with ChitoSal and Microbial Mass Pro. As per the
instructions on the ChitoSal, I only soaked the seeds for 45 min. I then used the water from the soak and
poured it onto the paper towel inside the ziploc bag. I then put that ziploc bag onto a plate that is inside
of the propagator which is on top of a heat mat. I'm hoping that propagator keeps the paper towel moist
- I am nervous as hell as the last germination I did with AK-47 seeds, I literally got 7 seeds to germinate
out of 20… which is only 35% success.
- The propagator is in the grow tent, lights off, heat set to 24°C and humidity at 65%
Mon Apr 24 - I took a look at the seeds and I could tell that the tap root is going to pop from all 5 of the seeds.
- I am super happy as the last 2 grows, I had mixed success when germinating the seeds.
Tue Apr 25 - 4 of the 5 seeds had their tap root out enough to plant.
- I soaked the plugs in water containing the Microbial Mass Pro, then planted the seeds, tap root down,
into the plug. I left the 5th seed to try to get the tap root out a bit further. I will probably plant it anyways
as it's just going to use a plug.
- I refreshed the spray bottle with water and Microbial Mass Pro
- I put the propagator back into the grow tent, but now with the lights on.
Wed Apr 26 - 3 of the 4 seeds that are in the plugs have now emerged. One did not, but when I look at it closer, it
appears to be very close to emerging from the plug as well.
- As for the other seed that I left on the paper towel, the tap root grew a tiny bit more, but nothing like
the other seeds and their tap roots.
- I decided to plant it anyways into the plug and I'll see where this goes.
- I get very nervous when germinating seeds due to the fiasco of the AK-47's where only 35% of the seeds
germinated.
- I'm really hoping they all work out, but I'm prepared to lose the one that doesn't have much of a tap
root. But I'm also worried about that other one that did have a decent tap root, but it hasn't emerged yet.
Thu Apr 27 - the seedlings are looking pretty good. The one I planted last still hasn’t emerged from the soil.
Fri Apr 28 - Three of the seedling have roots poking through the plug. 1 is not showing yet and the last one is just
beginning to emerge from the plug. I had to remove the shell to reveal the cotyledons.
- This is the fastest that I've seen tap root pop from the seeds and the fastest that I've seen the roots
emerging from the bottoms of the plugs.
- My other grows, the germination process has taken between 10 to 15 days. These seedlings are
developing twice as fast.
- The difference between this grow and past grows is that I'm using ChitoSal and Microbial Mass Pro.
- The ChitoSal is used for increasing the trichomes, but it can also be used to assist in the
germination process by soaking the seeds for between 30 to 45 min at the absolut most.
- I was able to plug these seeds into their plugs at least a day or 2 sooner than previous grows
because the tap root appreared so soon and to the appropriate length.
- The Microbial Mass Pro is used for root development
- The roots are protruding out of the plugs a few days sooner than I have seen all of my other
grows.
- I also noticed that the roots have more offshuts that other seedling roots I've seen.
- I definitely feel that the increased development of the seedlings during the germination
process is due to the ChitoSal and the Microbial Mass Pro.
- If those 2 nutrients work this notably well, I can't wait to see what they do to the plant during the
vegetative and blooming stage
- At the last minute, I decided to plant 2 of the seedlings into their grow bags as they are getting a little
leggy and I fear that they may fall over if they are not planted. So I feel a sense of urgency to plant them.
- I will probably plant the other 3 tomorrow.
- I filled the grow bags with Fox Farm Ocean Forest, leaving about an inch and a half from the top.
- I made a small hole in the soil for the plug, but before putting in the plug, I sprinkled in Mycorrhizal
fungai to help with transplant shock.
- I watered the newly planted seedlings with RapidStart, Microbial Mass Pro and Diamond Nectar
Sat Apr 29 - The 3 seedlings that are still in their plugs are doing good. One of them is not showing any root
protruding from the plug yet, but the seedling does look healthy.
- I will be planting the remaining 3 plugs into soil in 2 days even if the one plug is still not showing
roots yet.
- the 2 seedlings that have been planted are unchanged. Which is normal…it's only been 1 day and
seedlings always go through a slight shock when transplanted. It usually only last a couple of days and
then they restart their growing process.
Sun Apr 30 - The 2 planted seedlings now have their first leafs apart from the cotyledons.
- The other 3 seedlings are looking good, but that one seedling still hasn't sprouted a root outside of the
plug. I'm very surprised by that. The seedling has a decent height and it seems like it's well rooted to the
inside of the plug...but nothing is growing outside of it. I'll still be planting it tomorrow though.
Mon May 1 - I've planted the 3 remaining seedlings into their growbags.
- I sprinkled Mycorrhizal fungai into the hole I dug before I put the plug into it.
- I watered all 5 of the plants with RapidStart, Microbial Mass Pro and Diamond Nectar
Tue May 2 - No change for the seedlings that I planted yesterday.
- The other 2 seedlings already look sightly bigger than they did yesterday.
Wed May 3 - Again, the 2 first planted seedlings are growing and there's always a slight change every day.
- two of the three most recently planted seedlings are now showing the first signs of new leafs coming
in but the seedling that still did not have root emerging from the plug has yet to show any change. It is
still early, but I am a bit concerned.
Thu May 4 - the first 2 plants are notably bigger than the other 3. They were the two tallest seedlings and had to be
planted in order to keep them from getting too tall with too weak of a base.
- Two of the other three plants are slowing showing the next leafs after the cotyledons. Unfortunately,
there is one plant that has not changed since planting. It was the one that didn't any roots emerging from
the plug. I'm keeping it there for now…kind of curious to see what happens to it.
- Also, I noticed that the dirt in the grow bags had not dried out. I realized I didn't have the fans on so
that may have been why.
Fri May 5 - The dirt is still a tad bit moist but definitely it should be good to go for being fed tomorrow.
Sat May 6 - I fed the plants with RapidStart and Diamond Nectar. The Microbial Mass Pro is used once every 2 weeks.
Sun May 7 - Plants are looking pretty good. The three plants that were last to be planted are still in the seedling
stage where the other 2 are very much further along.
Tue May 9 - I noticed that the top of the soil in the 5 grow bags had a tiny little bit of mold. I did notice that the soil
was taking a while to dry out so I lowered the fans right down to the grow bag level and added a tower
fan that oscillates. I actually forgot that I had that fan in there for the beginning of the last grow to help
with keep mold away.
- I also scooped out the soil that had the mold on it.
- I also churned the soil gently in the grow bags to aid in the soil drying out.
Wed May 10 - I fed the plants with CannaMax Silica, RapidStart, Diamond Nectar and Floralicious.
- The 2 bigger seedlings are looking great. 2 of the smaller ones are coming along. The one plant that
did not have an emerged root at the time of transplant is changing but extremely slowly. There are new
leafs trying to emerge, but it has remained so small that it's hard to really tell what is going on
- This was the first time that I'm using Floralicious Plus from General Hydroponics. It's thicker than all of
the other nutrients except the CannaMax Silica…which is super thick. It smells very strong and is very
dark brown.
Thu May 11 - Plants are looking good. 2 out of the 3 smaller ones are growing bigger. The smallest one seems to
have leafs starting to grow out but they seemed to be stacked on top of each other. It's very strange.
Sat May 13 - right now, the soil is taking about 4 days. Which is normal when the plants are super young. Once they
get a bit bigger, they will start to uptake the nutrients faster.
- I feel like the 3 smaller seedlings, especially the smallest one is still in the seedling stage
Sun May 14 - I fed the plants with Microbial Mass Pro, CannaMax Silica, RapidStart, Diamond Nectar and Floralicious.
- the smaller plants have a slight yellowing happening on the leafs. Nothing too yellow…just a tad.
- Plants are looking good. The bit of yellow on 2 of the smaller plants seems to be fading a bit to green.
Mon May 15 - Churned the soil a bit to aid in the drying of the soil
Tue May 16 - Plants are looking good. They are all growing and already look different from the yesterday...even the
stunted one… It looks like it turned a corner and will now start to grow.
Wed May 17 - I fed the plants with CannaMax Silica, RapidStart, Diamond Nectar and Floralicious.
- The plants are really taking the nutrients…no nutrient burn at all
Thu May 18 - I churned the soil… I find that it helps with drying out the soil while the plants are still young.
Sat May 20 - I fed the plants with CannaMax Silica, RapidStart, Diamond Nectar and Floralicious.
- Plants are looking really healthy. They are loving the nutrients.
Sun May 21 - I churned the soil, but I think this will be the last time.. It's difficult to do it because the foliage is now
in the way and I don’t want to tear or inure a leaf. Also, I can tell the soil is drying out better now that
the plants have been in their soil for 3 weeks. They are uptaking the nutrients more and drying out the
soil naturally.
Tue May 23 - I fed the plants with CannaMax Silica, RapidStart, Diamond Nectar and Floralicious. It is also the first
time that I'll be using the ChitoSal in the form of a spray. The first 2 times you use ChitoSal during the
growing phases is in a spray bottle. After that, you add it to the regular feeding.
- The ChitoSal is recommended to be used right as the lights are turning off…The longer the plants remain
wet with the ChitoSal, the better.
Wed May 24 - I sprayed the plants with ChitoSal right as the lights were turning off. I sprayed the plants until they
were pretty wet. I read that it's okay to soak the plants. It said that the amount to spray on the plants that
would be considered too much would be astronomical.
Thu May 25 - The plants looked great after their soaking in ChitoSal.
- I also raised the lights a bit higher to 32 inches above plant canopy and I cranked them to the max level
Fri May 26 - I fed the plants with CannaMax Silica, RapidStart, Diamond Nectar, Floralicious and CalMag
- This is the first feeding with CalMag for this grow. I find that I always wait another week, then I start to
see the Calcium and Magnesium deficiencies…so this time I'm going to start it as the soil is now depleted.
of it. Plus, when using LED lights, you end up needing CalMag more than if you were using HID lighting.
Sun May 28 - the plants looks amazing! They all look like they've grown tremendously over 2 days! I was shocked
when I opened the tent.
Mon May 29 - I fed the plants with Microbial Mass Pro, CannaMax Silica, RapidStart, Diamond Nectar, Floralicious,
CalMag, Flora Micro, Flora Grow, Flora Bloom and Koolbloom Liquid
- I'm curious about how much RootFarm PHDown I have to use now that I'm adding in the majority of the
nutrients. Normally I don't need to PH the water down when using the nutrients, but the Microbial Mass
Pro raises the PH level pretty high… expecially for such a small amount.
- One plant was looking droopy… probably from thirst.
Tue May 30 - The plants look lively. The droopy plant is standing nice and tall and the leafs are no longer drooping.
- I think I will trim the plants tomorrow to clear up some of the fan leafs and and ensure that all of the
bud sites are exposed to the lights. I'll also get rid of any under-developed bud sites that are not going
to produce anything.
Wed May 31 - I trimmed the plants. I left any fan leafs that weren't blocking any bud sites.
- The shortest plant was the most busiest of the 5 plants. Probably due to its short stature.
- The soil was dry for the 2 taller plants. The soil for the 3 shorter plants was a bit heavier. I'm hoping that
now that I have trimmed all of the plants, it will increase air flow and light exposure to the soil and dry it
out faster.
Thu Jun 1 - I fed the plants with CannaMax Silica, RapidStart, Diamond Nectar, Floralicious, CalMag, Flora Micro, Flora
Grow, Flora Bloom and Koolbloom Liquid
- Currently, I'm using 1 litre per plant, and I have been since the beginning.
- Now that I'm using the majority of the nutrients, the water is automatically ph'ed down to 6.5 so I
don't need to keep adding Rootfarm PHDown
Fri Jun 2 - Plants are looking great. They are accepting the level of nutrients without any problems.
Sat Jun 3 - The plant soil seems dry. I could probably fed them tonight if I wanted. I think the Diamond Nector is now
having its effect on the plants where it causes them to uptake more nutrients from the soils which causes
the soil to dry out faster.
- I think I'll fed the plants tomorrow as originally scheduled, but then going forward, the feedings might
be every other day instead of every third day.
Sun Jun 4 - I fed the plants with CannaMax Silica, RapidStart, Diamond Nectar, Floralicious, CalMag, Flora Micro, Flora
Grow, Flora Bloom and Koolbloom Liquid
- They are scheduled to get another spraying of ChitoSal, but I'll have to do that tomorrow morning as it
needs to be administered right as the lights are turning off to ensure the plants stay wet for as long as
possible.
- All of the plants are showing the beginning of the buds and the white hairs except for that one stunted
plant. It looks like it's about 1 week behind the others.
Mon Jun 5 - I sprayed the plants with ChitoSal and gave them all a really good soaking. I can't wait to see the frosting
on these plants and compare them to my past grows.
- Sorry for the blurry photos…I didn't noticed that I accidentally changed the setting on the camera making
the pics blurry. It's been fixed now.
Tue Jun 6 - I fed the plants with CannaMax Silica, RapidStart, Diamond Nectar, Floralicious, CalMag, Flora Micro, Flora
Grow, Flora Bloom and Koolbloom Liquid
- The plants are now sucking up nutrients so fast that the soil is completely dried out 2 days after feeding
- The plants are lookng amazing. The one stunted plant is a bit behind, probably by about 2 weeks.
- You can see that the stunted plant doesn't have the white pistil hairs yet, but definitely soon it will.
Thu Jun 8 - I fed the plants with CannaMax Silica, RapidStart, Diamond Nectar, Floralicious, CalMag, Flora Micro, Flora
Grow, Flora Bloom and Koolbloom Liquid
- This is my favourite part of the grow…when the plants dry out in 2 days and they show no signs of
nutrient toxicity…meaning that I can feed the plants lots of nutrients thus causing them to grow amazing
buds!
- The very tips of the leaves are slightly curled upwards and they are yellowing. It may be a potassium
deficiency as per the charts.
Sat Jun 10 - I fed the plants with CannaMax Silica, RapidStart, Diamond Nectar, Floralicious, CalMag, Flora Micro, Flora
Grow, Flora Bloom and Koolbloom Liquid
Mon Jun 12 - I fed the plants with CannaMax Silica, RapidStart, Diamond Nectar, Floralicious, CalMag, Flora Micro,
Flora Grow, Flora Bloom, Koolbloom Liquid and Microbial Mass Pro
- The plants are looking great. The buds and still young but they are developing nicely.
- The plants look awesome. I think I may trim a few leafs here and there just to unblock bud sites. There
are just a few leafs per plant that probably should be trimmed to ensure the bud sites all get light.
Tue Jun 13 - I trimmed the plants a tiny bit.
- I removed about 10 to 15 leafs per plant…nothing extreme… just wanted to open up the bud sites to light
light, making sure light is penetrating the lower buds.
- The plants are looking amazing. There are lots of bud sites on each plant and they all look amazing.
Wed Jun 14 - I fed the plants with CannaMax Silica, RapidStart, Diamond Nectar, Floralicious, CalMag, Flora Micro,
Flora Grow, Flora Bloom and Koolbloom Liquid
Thu Jun 15 - The plants are looking good as usual.
- I did notice one problem…these plants have grown taller than I had expected and I feel that the light is a
tad closer to the top of the plants than I'd like, but I don't have any more rope on the pulley to raise the
lights any higher. I'd have to MacGuyver something to get the lights higher. For that, I's need my brother-
-in-law for that. He's an engineer so he's better than me at coming up with something simple, yet strong
to be able to raise the lights higher.
Fri Jun 16 - I fed the plants with CannaMax Silica, RapidStart, Diamond Nectar, Floralicious, CalMag, Flora Micro, Flora
Grow, Flora Bloom and Koolbloom Liquid
- For this feeding, I increased the amount of water I used and also increased the nutrients to the same
ratio so that everything is at the same strenght. I increased it by 1.5
- The reason for this was because the last feeding a couple of days ago, I noticed that the water didn't
really come out of the bottom of the grow bags.
- This happened on all previous grows that around this point, I had to increase the amount during the
feeding to ensure proper saturation of the soil and to ensure that the plants are getting enough nutrients.
Sun Jun 18 - I fed the plants with CannaMax Silica, Diamond Nectar, Floralicious, CalMag, Flora Micro, Flora Grow,
Flora Bloom, Koolbloom Liquid and ChitoSal
- The ChitoSal is now being applied with the rest of the nutrients into the soil.
- The RapidStart is also no longer on the feeding schedule as per General Hydroponics
- I'm still using the increased amount of water and nutrients of 1.5 until I see that it's too much liquid for
the plants to absorb, but I have a feeling that I'll probably be keeping up that amount until closer to the
harvest time.
- It may even come down to increasing it again to 2 litres per plant. As the buds develop, the plant may
require even more!
- Each plant has a tremendous amount of bud sites. And that's even after I trimmed a few away when I
did the first trim back on May 31st.
- Just one plant is smaller than the other 4 and has few bud sites, but the bud sites look big
and I think it'll produce a really good amount of buds.
- The one plant that I mentioned was a week behind, I think I may trim a lower branch or two
as there may be a bud site or two that will not produce much.
Tue Jun 20 - I fed the plants with CannaMax Silica, Diamond Nectar, Floralicious, CalMag, Flora Micro, Flora Grow,
Flora Bloom and Koolbloom Liquid
- I notice that some of the plants were not quite as dry as usual, but I don't think it's the extra 500mls of
nutrients, I think it was that the airflow was a bit low, so I turned up the fans to ensure that the air is
circulating better.
- I am actually thinking of increasing the nutrients again to 2 litres as I noticed that there wasn't much
run-off on this last feeding. This is also happened on the last grow with the AK-47.
- The plants are taller than I'd thought they'd be and there are so many bud sites on all of the plants.
I also moved the humidity down to 50% now.
Thu Jun 22 - It was scheduled for me to feed the plants tonight, but I did not. The plant grow bags seems a bit heavier
than they would have been if they were really dry. I don't think it was the extra 1/2 cup of nutrients, I think
it was the air flow. It's not enough down at the soil level. I'm trying to angle the fans differently to get more
air down below.
- It also could be the humidity level. And I don't mean the humidity level inside the tent… it's very humid
this summer where I live so just the house humidity is higher than I'd like it to be. I'll be running my
dehumidifier over the weekend to bring it down.
- I'm thinking that I'm going to skip this feeding and wait for 2 more days until the next feeding to really
ensure that the plants are thirsty. I find they do better when you let them go thirsty for a bit…they really
make use of the nutrients you give them once they get fed.
- I think I may have forgotten to mention this, but I noticed two weeks ago that the trichomes are already
starting to appear on all of the plants.
- I believe this is the earliest I have ever seen the trichomes show up on the buds and leafs. I'm convinced
that it is due to the ChitoSal that I've been spraying and adding to the nutrients. That is what the ChitoSal is
supposed to do.
- I just looked at photos of my past 4 grows and none of the plants from any of the previous grows had
trichomes at this point in the grow. So I an pretty sure it's the ChitoSal doing this.
- The trichomes on this grow appeared at the beginning of week 7 where the other grows, the trichomes
didn't appear until week 10, so… three cheers for ChitoSal!!!
Sat Jun 24 - I fed the plants with CannaMax Silica, Diamond Nectar, Floralicious, CalMag, Flora Micro, Flora Grow,
Flora Bloom and Koolbloom Liquid
- I decided to try feeding the plants double the liquid as the last few feedings, there didn't seem to be
much run-off. However, adding just an extra 500ml to each plant, there was a lot of run-off and that's
even after skipping a feeding. Now, it could be that the soil was so dry that it's couldn't take the whole
pour. I really should have fed the plants 1 litre at a time and then fed them the 2nd litre after they've had
the chance to absorb the first litre.
- I'm sure tomorrow then I check on the plants, the run-off will have been absorbed back up the plant.
- The buds are looking absolutely amazing! The buds are so much further along than all of my previous
grows at the same time-frame!
- I feel that the 3 new things I have added to this grow are really having a major effect on this grow.
- Floralicious Plus - is really making the plants aromatic. I'm able to smell the plants way earlier
that I was able to smell previous grows.
- Microbial Mass Pro - is supposed to make the roots bigger… and although I can't see the roots
until after this grow is over, however, the buds are way bigger than all my previous grows at this
same point in their grows. So I have to assume it's working…bigger roots means bigger fruits.
- I will confirm at the end if the roots were bigger than roots on previous grows
- ChitoSal - what to say about ChitoSal. This nutrient does 2 things, it can be used to germinate
the seeds and then later in the grow, it's used to increase the trichomes and make the plants
more frosty. Both of those 2 functions of this nutrient have worked. The seeds germinated days
faster than all previous grows and the trichomes have appeared about 3 to 4 weeks ahead of all
my previous grows. So, ChitoSal is definitely doing it's job.
Mon Jun 26 - I was supposed to water the plants tonight, but the soil is still damp from the last feeding. I probably
shouldn't have done 2 litres. The plants probably had food for the next day as well. I'm going back to 1 litre
on Jun 28th… I want to get control of the situation again and get the plants back on my schedule.
- I forgot to mention the other day, I repositioned the fans a bit to ensure air was getting everywhere. Even
though I had turned up the fans, air wasn't circulating to the key spots.
- I find it helpful if the air reaches down to the soil. It brings down humidity and keeps the soil from going
moldy
Tue Jun 27 - The soil looks much drier now, but I'm to feed them tomorrow just to make sure that the plants are nice
and thirsty.
- I'm going to go back to just giving them 1 litre for this feeding…I might increase it on the next one once
I see how they handle this feeding.
- The buds are looking crazy! They are way bigger than all of my previous grows when they were at this
same time-frame. I feel like I've found the winning formula in terms of the nutrients that I'm giving them.
Wed Jun 28 - I fed the plants with CannaMax Silica, Diamond Nectar, Floralicious, CalMag, Flora Micro, Flora Grow,
Flora Bloom, Koolbloom Liquid and Microbial Mass Pro.
- The buds are looking great and they feel pretty dense.
Fri Jun 30 - I fed the plants with CannaMax Silica, Diamond Nectar, Floralicious, CalMag, Flora Micro, Flora Grow,
Flora Bloom and Koolbloom Liquid
- The plants are really bulking up now. One of the plants is already leaning due to the weight of the buds.
- One thing I did notice about the trichomes… although they definitely showed up very early, probably due
to the ChitoSal, they haven't progressed much for a few weeks… It might be due to the the ChitoSal now
has to be given to the plants along with the rest of the nutrients and noy by spraying it. Their website was
pretty explicate about not spraying it after the first 2 applications. However, I do expect the trichomes to
continue to form and multiply still. We'll see how the plants look when they are being harvested.
Sun Jul 2 - I fed the plants with CannaMax Silica, Diamond Nectar, Floralicious, CalMag, Flora Micro, Flora Grow,
Flora Bloom, Koolbloom Liquid and ChitoSal.
- One of the plants is already leaning and I will probably have to put in plant stakes soon to keep the plant
from falling over.
Tue Jul 4 - I fed the plants with CannaMax Silica, Diamond Nectar, Floralicious, CalMag, Flora Micro, Flora Grow,
Flora Bloom and Koolbloom Liquid
- The plants are showing signs of potassium deficiencies, I presume., and have been for a while. It also
could be a nitrogen deficiency, but as this stage of the grow, it would make more sense of it being a
potassium deficiency.
- I increased the Flora Bloom by 1.5 more from 20ml to 30ml and will do so for the next feeding as well and
see what happens.
The Jul 6 - I fed the plants with CannaMax Silica, Diamond Nectar, Floralicious, CalMag, Flora Micro, Flora Grow,
Flora Bloom, Koolbloom Liquid amd Microbial Mass Pro
-The plants are looking good.
Sat Jul 8 - I fed the plants with CannaMax Silica, Diamond Nectar, Floralicious, CalMag, Flora Micro, Flora Grow,
Flora Bloom and Koolbloom Liquid
- I feel like the plants are slowed down growth a bit…most of the fan leafs are showing signs of either
potassium deficiency or nitrogen deficiency…it is most likey a potassium deficiency given the phase we
are currently in.
- I have increased the potassium, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I'm really not quite sure what
to do.
Mon Jul 10 - I fed the plants with CannaMax Silica, Diamond Nectar, Floralicious, CalMag, Flora Micro, Flora Grow,
Flora Bloom and Koolbloom Liquid
Wed Jul 12 - I fed the plants with CannaMax Silica, Diamond Nectar, Floralicious, CalMag, Flora Micro, Flora Grow,
Flora Bloom and Koolbloom Liquid
- There was one plant that was leaning over and branches were being dragged downwards. I believe this
is due to 2 reasons…the weight of the buds and the potassium deficiency. I have now completely sure that
the deficiency that the plants are experiencing was a potassium deficiency as it can also cause plant stems
and branches to become weak.
- I had to put in 3 stakes into that plant pot and tie up the stock and branches.
- Thankfully, that was the only plant so far.
- I'm going to be increasing the potassium on the next feeding, and then, based on the schedule, I'll be
using Ripen and Koolbloom Dry powder and those are chock-full of potassium.
Fri Jul 14 - I was supposed to feed the plants this day, but was so tired, I fell asleep. So, I'll be feeding them tonight.
Sat Jul 15 - I fed the plants with CannaMax Silica, Diamond Nectar, Floralicious, CalMag, Flora Micro, Flora Grow,
Flora Bloom and Koolbloom Liquid
- I increased the Flora Bloom by 2 times the scheduled amount. I will be lowering it down on the next
feeding back to the scheduled amount because I'll be using Ripen and Koolbloom Dry.
- The plants look good. The buds look like they've bulked up a bit more. I really need to increase the
potassium on the next grow as I have had this problem on every grow with a potassium deficiency around
the same stage.
Mon Jul 17 - I fed the plants with CannaMax Silica, Floralicious, CalMag, Flora Micro, Flora Grow, Flora Bloom,
Koolbloom Dry powder, ChitoSal & Ripen
Wed Jul 19 - I fed the plants with CannaMax Silica, Floralicious, CalMag, Flora Micro, Flora Grow, Flora Bloom,
Koolbloom Dry powder & Ripen
Thu Jul 20 - looking back at the previous sativa grow, my AK-47 harvest I think that the buds were slightly more
bulkier than the New York Turbo Diesel, which might be okay as AK-47 is listed as having a slightly higher
yield than New York Turbo Diesel.
- I feel that is there is a bit of a loss of the yield, it will be due to the fact that I didn't address the potassium
deficiency fast enough. But, hopefully, the plants will bulk up over the next 2 weeks as I'm now using
Koolbloom Dry powder and Ripen, which are high in potassium and will help the plant do some last minute
bulking up.
Fri Jul 21 - I fed the plants with CannaMax Silica, Floralicious, CalMag, Flora Micro, Flora Grow, Flora Bloom,
Koolbloom Dry powder, Microbial Mass Pro & Ripen
- This is the last feeding with Microbial Mass Pro. The instructions say that the last time to use it is 2 weeks
before harvest.
Sun Jul 23 - I fed the plants with CannaMax Silica, Floralicious, CalMag, Flora Micro, Flora Grow, Flora Bloom,
Koolbloom Dry powder & Ripen
- This feeding will be the last for CannaMax Silica, Floralicious and CalMag as per the schedule
Tue Jul 25 - I fed the plants with Flora Micro, Flora Grow, Flora Bloom, Koolbloom Dry powder & Ripen
- I used my DSLR camera with a macro lens to see the trichomes to get an idea of where they are at… if they
are clear or cloudy.
- They looked kind of clear to me, which was a bit of a surprise. I thought they'd be a bit cloudier, but I will
do it again tomorrow night and do more than on plant and more than one bud to see what the trichomes
look like
Thu Jul 27 - I fed the plants with Flora Micro, Flora Grow, Flora Bloom, Koolbloom Dry powder & Ripen
Sat Jul 29 - I fed the plants with Flora Micro, Flora Grow, Flora Bloom, Koolbloom Dry powder & Ripen
Mon Jul 31 - I fed the plants with PH'ed water.
- I used the macro lens again and saw that the trichomes are a mix of clear and cloudy. So I feel that the
timing is right to start the flushing process
Wed Aug 2 - I fed the plants with PH'ed water.
- I think the next feeding I'll be using the FloraKleen, then back to the PH'ed water.
- I'm on the fence if I will do some major flush as I've done in the past. It's hard to move the plants with all
of the plant stakes keeping them up. But I will probably put through a lot of water and just use the shopvac
so that I can keep in the plants in place.
- Side note - I had to purchase a new bud bowl trimmer. My other one broke. It would no longer spin.
I thought that maybe it was the gear box being seized as I had submerged it in soapy water to get it clean.
But, when I got the gear box apart, I saw that it was the side walls of the cylinder that looked a bit shopped
up and even the slightest bit missing caused the gears to no longer spin. I then read the instructions and I
noticed that it said to only spin the gears clockwise.
I had been spinning the gears in both directions. Since the device is probably a "Made in China" item, I
assume changing the directions on a dime and such was not good for the gears.
- So I ordered a new one of the same brand and size so that could at least use the bowl and lid from the
other one as they still work and this way, I'll have extra pieces in case anything else breaks.
Fri Aug 4 - I've been surprised this whole time flushing… the soil has been dry at the 48 hour mark just as though I was
still using Diamond Nector. I assumed the soil would go back to taking an extra day or so before needing
another feeding.
Sun Aug 6 - I flushed the plants with 2 litres of PH'ed water and FloraKleen. I immediately used a shopvac to soak up
the water as I don't want the plants to reabsorb the runoff as it contains the nutrients that I'm trying to flush
- I'll be harvesting the plants in 2 days from now.
Aug 7 to 12 - I got sick and I was unable to harvest the plants as I had planned for this week.
- I'll be harvesting them tomorrow.
Sun Aug 13 - I harvested 3 of the 5 plants. It took quite a while even though I am using the bud bowl trimmer. I like to
save the shake that comes off the buds and lands in the bowl, but I don't want all of these pointless leafs,
so I do tend to give them a bit of a trim before putting them through the bowl trimmer. That adds to my
time greatly, but at least the bowl trimmer saves me a lot of time for the final trim.
- The reason why I only got through 3 of the plants instead of all 5 is that 2 of the tree had over 1 lb of bud
each!!!
Mon Aug 14 - I finished harvesting the last 2 plants. One of the plants had just under a pound of bud and the other had just
over a pound of bud. Once it was trimmed, it was 382grams and 439grams respectively.
- I like to trim the bud when they are fresh since I use the bowl trimmer. Although it does say that it can be
used for both fresh and dry buds, I find it works better when the buds are fresh.
- One of the two plants that I trimmed felt a bit dry so I had trimmed that one just to ensure I didn't loose too
much bud due to the bowl trimmer.
- I feel that it was a bit dry because I had originally intended to harvest the plants last week but I got sick and
wasn't able to until yesterday and today.
- The only things I added to this grow is the ChitoSal, which is used for germination and to promote more
trichomes, Floralicious, whichs helps the bud create more natual aromatic oils, and Microbial Mass Pro, which
helps increase the root structure.
- So, the only thing new that would explain the insane increase in bud size and weight would be the
Microbial Mass Pro, since bigger roots means bigger fruits…although, there could be something said with
regards to having more natural oil production within the buds and that could have increased the weight a bit
as well.
- When I emptied the grow bags to check out the soil and the roots, I noticed that the roots had penetrated
the soil all the way to the bottom, where my previous grows, the roots were about 3/4 of the way to the bottom
of the grow bag. I believe this is definitely the result of using the Microbial Mass Pro.
- For the fresh and trimmed weight of the previous grow, the AK-47 averaged 250grams per plant.
The Bluberry 420 averaged 268grams per plant.
This New York Turbo Diesel averaged 398grams per plant! That's a 59% increase over AK-47 and 49% increase
over Blueberry 420.
- The plants should be finished drying on Aug 28, so at that point I'll make sure the buds are dry, weight them
and them give my final full analysis what the plants produced. I'm going to estimate based on my previous
grows, that I'm going to end up with 454 grams of dried bud. I'm basing this on the average amount of weight
lost to drying for both of my last grows as around the 77% to 78%. So if I apply that math the amount of fresh,
trimmed bud, which is 1,990.28grams, then I should end up with close to 1 pound. We'll see how close I am
in a couple of weeks.
