Hey guys and gals, just finished a grow of what I believe was my lower yielding C2.0 on one side of a 4x8 Tent. The other side had a mixture of a couple other strains. I was aiming for 1.5p but from my final numbers I hit 1.9p. After exceeding by that much I figure I should make a challenge.
Now sit back, hit subscribe and follow along. I'm aiming for 2.5p on one side of my tent under a 1000w HPS. Hoping to hit the numbers with what I believe to be my higher yielding C2.0 pheno.
I'm running Ebb and Flow 5gal Buckets under a double scrog net. I use a scarecrow technique I've picked up from Max420THC. I'm growing in 100% pure perlite since transplanting from coco coir solo cups and 1gal. I'm running the Lucas Formula which requires only the General Hydroponics Micro and Bloow at a ratio of 8ml micro and 16ml bloom/gal. Ill also be adding Calmag, Turantula (for 1 week, used it in veg as well) pond enzyme cleaner (2-4 weeks) and potassium Silica.
I cloned all these plants and they have been in solo cups for 3 weeks then 1gal for 1.5week. I've FIMed and cropped the tops selecting 4 terminal stems. I've moved them into the final 5gal buckets under 1000w HPS 18hr/6hr (bulbs will be replaced with new bulbs when i flip to 12/12) and after setting them I place I trimmed the tops even. Once the tops are even, I removed every lower sucker at each node (see pics) leaving just the 4 tops to shoot up. Ill veg for 1 - 2weeks (my judgement) before flipping to 12/12. The harvest will be approx 50-60 days from then.
Any questions ask
Update: New bulbs came in, always the cheapest I can find. In this case $30/bulb. I always run my bulbs new from start of bloom to the end, then I finish the bulbs on the veg cycle of the new runs. Also cleaned the cool tube glass.
Flipped the girls to 12/12 today. Also adjusted the flood cycles to match. Did a thinning and the last adjustment to the height. From here on in since I have gone to flower, I will once a week look through nodes and trim any sucker branches that start to navigate away from the terminal stem by more then 1-2". The idea is to keep the canopy even, and light penitration as deep as possible. You can only assist this by Pruning branches that are trying to grow away.
Everything is looking great. Lowered the scrog net down and moved terminal stems into position as to be spread perfectly apart to allow penetration deep into the canopy. |I want all the light to penetrate a good 12-18" to get the maximum these lights have to offer
Everything is going great. There has been a slow down in the upward growth. Plants are very healthy with no signs of deficiencies.
Also got the go ahead to start my winter top up grow of my medicine. I hate to run out.
So ive been getting the setup ready. Took clones of all the plants im looking to grow. keep an eye open for the new startups
No issues with the grow. I did have an issue with the sump pump. Looks like it started to leak out the mineral oil. Couldn't find much about the toxicity of the oil for plants. But from what we can see they give it to animals ingested to relieve diarrhea. |My thinking is that if it isn't poisonous, i'm probably ok.
Regardless i purchased a new pump and drained all the water. Wiped down the sides and used paper towel on the top of the liquid to get any remaining traces still sitting on the top of the water.
Temps have go a tad higher as the ambient temp outside has increased a little. Should start to see perfect temps again in the next week as temps outside begin to drop beow freezing. According to my previous grow pictures i should start to double and triple the colas in size over the next 2 weeks. Stay tuned!
Its hard to write a long sentence about the problems of growing, when you really aren't experiencing any. Smells are coming out big time! Thats all for now.
I managed to process all 9 plants and with in minutes of handling the second pheno, which I thought was my higher yielding pheno, that this version was actually much less dense bud structure. I never noticed because I try to never touch plants in flower Because it seems to cause damage to the buds.
Anyways I track each pot on take down and after weighing the first plant I could now see in numbers that my hunch was true.
Even though these plants looked as good, if not more healthy then the last batch, with more tops and fairly even canopy, and great cola spacing, they still produced less.
Keep in mind the other pheno was approx 4110g wet. This grow was only 3383g.
Its very discouraging but I'll wait until final dry numbers for weigh in and if they agree, I'll be getting rid of the other pheno. I did have one more seed, of critical 2.0,so I can see what that one does also.
Update: added bud shots Jan 8
@DinafemSeeds, I've already got my next batch started on veg cycle. It's the first seed type I had that got 1.9p last go. Hopefully I can get it better then that this time.
@Drtomb, Those are amazing numbers my friend. Typically the flowers dry to 20% of the wet weight so this is going to be a fantastic yield once dry and cured of course 👌
Congratulations on the harvest mate 👊
All the best ✌️

@Mrs_Larimar,it's a great number to be sure, but if you look at my pheno hunt side, you'll see that the skullcap produced 800g (this one averaged 376g/plant) on 1 of 9 random strains. That's a huge number for one plant, granted nothing is dry yet.
Excellent work! I'm growing the same strain (from seed) and it's really interesting to see that you are quite ruthless in removing side branches lower down. I left all the side branches intact and have loads of spindly shoots that don't look very productive! Next time I will get rid of them and hopefully get the big colas that you have.
Have a look at my diary and you'll see what I mean.
Thanks for showing how it should be done!
If Your 1 week or less into flower you aren't past the point of no return... But. I see your about 4 weeks in now. I should restate that i do not remove fan leaves, although you are way over run with branches.
It's funny these plants explode soon... You guys have done an excellent job with this strain. Those buds grt as big as a pop can. The transformation is upon us!
@Drtomb, So I see my friend. Those buds are in overdrive and getting HUGE 👌
Really nice work as you enter the final 2 weeks of this grow 👍
Thanks for the update mate. I'll drop back in on the next 👊
All the best ✌️
Mark..
@Drtomb, now you are in bloom it won't take long to get that scrogg screen filled out 👊
Your looking in great shape mate, our Critical+2.0 is perfectly suited for this style of growing 👍
Now that the flower stage has started the real fun can begin and you can show us what you can do with this epic lady 😎.
From what I'm seeing so far, we are in for a really great show, Good luck let's see what you can do👍
All the best✌️
Mark..
I’m growing This strain atm doing 9 of them funnily enough haha.. just wondering if you chopped all your plants down together or different days depending on how far along they were... thanks
