Very nice growth and only fed nutrients once during veg stage. Combating low Happy Frog soil PH with dolomite lime this week. Next 4 weeks will resume feeding.
So far so good. Veg has been a breeze for the ILGM SKYWALKER OG strain. I popped one seed and it took. Did not need a lot of nutrients during veg for me. Flipping to flower next week.
Flipped to flower this week. I gotta say, so far this has been so easy to grow. I hope flower goes as smoothly as veg. She took to the LST really well. The branches are thick and the roots are super healthy. I've learned that she likes room to breath. Slight overcrowding in the tent, but she still performed well. Looking forward to growing this again, the force is strong here.
Week 2 of Flower (Day 56 since sprouted)
Just maintaining temps and adjusting light distance.
Fed with 1/2 gallon of feed water PH 6.5
-TPS CalMag 1 mil
-General Hydroponics Trio
-TPS Signal 5 mil per 1 gallon
Light defoliating
Stretched 4" in 1 week! The SKYWALKER OG is the tallest one in my 4x4 tent. Sorry about the pics- the tent is starting to crowd and getting shots of each strain is more difficult at this phase. The SCROG didn't take but it was my 1st and I learned tons about SCROG and LST from the experience.
Just water and dolomite lime this week. Saw early signs of cal/mag deficiency, or low soil ph. This should boost it right up. Top dressed with 5 TBS of dolomite and watered heavily.
General Hydroponics
FloraMicro - 5 ml/gal
FloraGrow - 3 ml/gal
FloraBloom - 12 ml/gal
TPS CalMag - 1 ml/gal
TPS Signal - 10 ml/gal
1/2 gal of feed per 5 gal pot
Skywalker OG plant is the tallest in my tent out of 6 plants, but the buds could use some beefing up. This is on me, likely due to underfeeding. Started to show slight signs of nutrient deficiency, but not the worse I've seen.
To help counter this, I fed with bloom favoring nutes last feed, and this time brewed a tea.
Brewed a tea, aerated for 24 hours before feeding.
per gal of water/ 6.5 ph / .5 gal per plant
Molasses - 1 tbs
fish shit - 5 mil
recharge - 1.5 tbs (meant to use tsp)
mycorrhizae - 1.5 tbs (meant to use tsp)
liquid seaweed - 10 mil
worm castings - 8 tbs
gai green bloom - 6 tbs / 100 ml
Just flushed today with some TPS Signal and Fish Shit. Forgot to take plant pics, but I did get some trichome shots. I'm thinking another 1-2 weeks for harvest.
Can't wait to finish! WK 9 of flower. Fed with 3/4 gallon of feed water. 1st photo grow, learning a lot. I think my biggest lesson is medium selection, and not cutting my soil with something lighter, such as promix.
The Good-
No major deficiencies
Great aroma
Healthy stems
The Bad-
Buds/Colas on the skinny side
The Ugly-
Happy Frog Soil by Fox Farms
Now that I understand my specific batch of HF soil, I can take countermeasures for my next run.
My soil has very low PH. Despite my efforts to combat this, such as using Dolomite lime, calmag, etc., still no joy.
I have faith in this soil though, or rather my abilities. Mainly because I still got 2 bags left. I think the trick is to only use 50% of the Happy Frog soil if the Ph is low.
Week 10 of flower. Started flushing with ph balanced water, calmag, and some signal. Hoping to harvest in the next week or two. This strain grew some tall branches!
I popped 1 seed of ILGM Skywalker OG in a rapid rooter. 142 days later here we are. The long flower time was definitely influenced by my environmental conditions, and a deficiency that I was able to fix. The fact that she withstood that and produced some nice looking buds with heavy aroma was impressive. I can't wait to grow again indoors and really push her to the max. Great genetics in my opinion as I did not experience any type of issues, herm, diseases, etc.
Felt great to harvest! I ended up with a little more amber than I would have liked, but it really goes to reinforce that I should be checking trichomes right up until the end, daily if possible. If I did, I would likely have flushed and chopped earlier. A few days makes a big difference, great to know. As of writing, dry tent is about 66 F / 61% RH with slight air circulation.
Wow buddy!! super nice buds forming up
What an amazing grow so far - good job and well done 🤝
Happy Growing & cant wait for your upcoming weeks 🌱
