These ladies are so close to harvest. They are wearing their sticky perfume and their Sunday best sparkling jewelry. We are in autumn now. For the last month, the temps have fallen about 20 degrees both day and night. The colors of runtz leaves are changing from green to dark purple. They have been in flower about 55 days. I was planning to harvest last week. but the color changes in runtz are holding my interest. I'm waiting at least until the end on Oct. Also I'm not seeing any amber trichomes yet.
How long should photo flower plants stay in flower before harvest?
@Natrona, Oh thats so nice! I'd love to do photo grow outside but because of the stealthyness i have to stick to autos.😊 Best of luck for the rest of the run and enjoy the beautiful colours! 💚
@Herbie101, Thanks for visiting my corner of GD. My ladies and I appreciate the 💚.
This is my first outside grow that has season change into fall. Leaves are turning purple 💜.
Wowie 🎉 I'm excited to see it. So I'm delaying harvest ✂️ for a week or 2.
@Tropicannibis_Todd, Thank you for visiting my corner of GD. My ladies and I appreciate the 💚 and encouragement. I'm amazed at the frosty ✨️ on these girls and eager for the 🚬 💨
Wow buddy!! super nice buds
What an amazing grow so far - good job and well done 🤝
Happy Growing & cant wait for your upcoming weeks 🌱

@Dabking, I want to get to the point where I can experiment on grow techniques& timing harvest. Also use amended soil where fertilizer is not necessary.
I'm learning about the cannbinoids and terpenes. So good to know about degradation of THC when delaying harvest.
@Natrona, If you want more of an indica/couch lock high you can wait longer for more amber trichs. If you want it the other way and something a bit more uplifting then shoot for less amber. Different growers have different preferences, but it's a trade off, as you also increase more CBN, CGB, and other cannabinoids the longer you wait, although thc will start to degrade eventually. The best way is if you have 2 strains (or clones) you can chop one 3-4 weeks before the other and do the exact dry and cure and see the difference.
The vast majority of strains have been cross bred, and all autoflowers have been bred with ruderalis. So the whole indica/sativa is really just how the cannaboids are within the plant. You have the room to play with these numbers to an extent. Obviously genetics always play a roll, but it's worth playing around with. I'll check in a few weeks after harvest to see how the smoke was.
@Dabking, you're so right. I'm excited to harvest these gals sooner than later. I over grew my plants on the last grow CBG as I never saw amber in the trichomes. I think I'll shoot for 5-10% amber on these.
@Crashoverite, Thanks for visiting my corner of grow diaries. My ladies and I appreciate the 💚. I have to say genetics we're strong and Mother Nature were good to me. No bugs or mold issues.
@Sour_D, ooh I did a preliminary taste of Super lemon Haze on the bud that broke off. Dried 1 week, no cure, citrus flavor and energizing. I can only imagine after more growing time and proper dry and cure🤪

Your plants are looking beautiful, and so is the hawk! I'm in the city but very close to the mountains and recently a pair of hawks made a nest high up in my neighbors tree. 😎
