Sep 25 - she’s off! 12 hours in water and now under the paper towel. This one is gonna be fimmed out and defo’d as a comparative to its manifolded kush sister. They’ll spend a first week or so under a cfl assembly while the last harvest dries out in the cabinet. This is our 2nd grow of an NL strain and this one should be typical of NL in terms of resilience. That said, she’s a former cup winner so we’re hopeful for supreme quality this time around. 👍 Gonna jack up the nute shed. and supplements heavy throughout the grow in the hopes of really testing the limits of my grow space (approx. 2sq/ft). THANKS for check'n er out - should have more details up soon!👊👍 Sep 30 update - 2.5 days in the paper towel and she’s just starting to poke out. Still needs to shed that seed so hold for official start.😉

Oct 8 - start of week 2 and things are progressing as expected. Been treating with a light foliar spray (diluted with some karma). We’ll probably amp up the nute mix and stick to following the schedule on next feed. Will update the ratios then (prob. Oct 10). Thanks for stoppn by - expect it to be a little quiet for the next couple weeks👍😉 Background This one is gonna be fimmed out and defo’d as a comparative to its manifolded kush sister. Oct 15 - start of week 3 and not much to report. Continuing to up the nute regimen at the max dosage and she seems just fine so far. Grew about half an inch in the last week and a little slower than her neighbouring cabinet mate. That said, we will still be transplanting to the final pot this week as the roots are starting to show at bottom. Right on pace for week 4 FIM as planned. Thanks for tuning in and happy growing y’all 👊👍 10/17 UPDATE - finally! Today marks the end of prohibition in this country and the cultivation and use of cannabis is a legal right enjoyed by all who choose. Now the hard work of removing 95 years of stigma begins. TO ALL my Canuck growers - righteous! To all those still fighting for the same elsewhere - stay strong and diligent! THE REST of the world will eventually catch up to you! Happy 10/17 y’all!!! 😉👊👍😎✌️ Oct. 18 update - transplant day. Could’ve definitely stepped up into a 2gal pot but went straight to the forever home today in the 5gal because I’m lazy. Likely won’t be a watering through for a few more days so we’ll see how she fares then. She’s lookn good but her growth is slightly slower than her cabinet mate. Alls well!😎 Oct 20 update - the girls seem to have taken well to the transplant. Bumped feeding volume from 400ml per/plant to 1.5L per/plant. No significant run off which is ok for now due to the jump in pot size. She’s ok and lookn good but not growing as quickly as her neighbour. Got kinda lucky with that as she’ll have ample opportunity to catch up when we start the mainline on the kush. Alls good - hope to fim end of next week.👍😎😉👌 Background This one is gonna be fimmed out and defo’d as a comparative to its manifolded kush sister. Oct 22 - start of week 4 and things are progressing well but slow. She’s poken out her 4th node now so we’ll be pinchn er soon. Nutrient regimen is aggressive - so far no plain water breaks from feedings and it’s freakn me out a little. She seems to like it though and the drainage on the coco/purlite is crazy good. should be easy enough to rectify any lockout issues if they come up. Thanks again for taking a look and happy growing!👍 Oct 24 update - she’s really come along the past few days and while her stem is still real thin, she’s managed to sneak the entire 4th node past me unnoticed. We FIMMED today. No actual cutting just a modified pinch/crush only technique that leaves all new growth in place. Now we’ll let er recover and see how she turns out. 🤞🤞🤞I’ve been running a nute feed every single watering (every other day) since start and decided it was time for a plain ph’d maintenance rinse. No reason, just preventative to rinse out minerals. Thanks for checkn er out👊. Oct 26 update - 2 days post fim and her pinched node isn’t looking any better. YOU can definitely tell by the photos and new growth that it’s diverted it’s energy to bushing out. Back on the nutes and still lookn good - love the coco. THANKS for tuning in y’all!👊 Oct 28 update - she looks as though she’s coming back around after the pinch. We’ll see what develops - definitely some weird new growth coming up so it appears to have worked👌😎👍! Background This one is gonna be fimmed out and defo’d as a comparative to its manifolded kush sister. Oct. 29 - start of week 5 and after a couple of days she’s starting to come around. Since the pinch it was like she started to crumple in on herself so hopefully she’s ready to blow up. Might’ve been too rough on er. Thanks for checking er out!👍 Oct 31 update - busy day, she needed a lot of attention, some LST and oh yeah, water. Let er dry out an extra day and hit her with another 2L. Think I’ll up the Volume this week. Fim paid off and we should run out 4 big colas on this pinch alone. Staked er down to get more light to the stem. Now were talkn😉👍. Nov. 2 update - snipped a fan leaf to try and get the tip underneath some good light. She should make one helluva cola eventually. Plant got a full 1gal. flush with phd & calmag water only. Nov. 3 update - so a busy but important week. The leaf I snipped yesterday has provided all kinds of light to 3 lower growth tips so she’s startn to get er bush on real well. We bent er down and away to the side of the pot a little more😉. This parts lot so of fun, She’s lookn goood👍 Nov. 4 update - she’s really picked up her growth and recovered fully now. The girls loved the rinse. Had to snip her two largest fan leaves cause I found a light deprived family of potential colas underneath👍. HATE to do it but has to happen. Week 6 come’n up and she’s lookn good. Nov. 5 - start of week 6 and she’s Bushn like mad! The fim hasn’t developed as expected at the top growth tip but the undergrowth has sprung up markedly after some selective defo. She’s lookn great and should have some more photos and video up in the next couple days. THANKS FOr checkn er out!👊👍😎 Nov. 6 update - pulled down a few new growth tips and clipped out a little undergrowth. She lookn like a mess and I love it. Still no real plan as to how I’m gonna train er out yet. Thanks for taken my!😎 Nov. 7 update - moved up the tie on what was the main growth tip. She’s bursting out now and just trying to keep the growth height in check with her kush neighbour (cough - won’t happen and my money’s on the kush😉). Nov. 10 update - she’s still bushy as hell. Trimmed a fan leaf to uncover another tip, pulled down and spread out the others including the main stem. Keeping with the 3:1 nute vs. Calmag regimen and no signs of burn at all. LOOKn good!👍 Background This one is gonna be fimmed out and defo’d as a comparative to its manifolded kush sister. Nov. 12 - start of week 7 and it’s been busy. HAd to clip a few leaves out of er to expose some more bud sites. Been tying er back every other day and growth has really picked up. She’ll be ready to go as soon as her kush neighbour is recovered👍. All is well peeps and thanks for swingn in👊 Nov. 17 update - not much to report. ANother lst session to keep spreading her out. Week 8 summary - another busy first few days of LST and some light pruning. Continuing to spread her out as much as we can, trimming fans where needed to get as much light to as many growth tips as possible. It's been a process lately but it should pay off. Shout out to my man @TOTEM about the light distance comment👊. That totally explains the tight internodal spacing I have - next grow will be testing the stretch in veg. using light distance to control plant heights. #stonerobsessions! Thanks bro! Tried to get the best pics I could of the extreme bend in the main stem as per the video, The two lowest side branches are actually buried in the medium and we've been doing everything we can to keep the canopy even with the neighbour kush. Here's hoping @stinkfox has never seen an NL strain stretch as much as this 😉. If my man is right, we're gonna end up with a height issue but whatever 😎. At this point I've got two healthy plants that are primed to blow the F$&%K up! Now about the flip, I'm gonna run another week of veg. I think just for the hell of it. Thanks again to everyone for the well wishes and support. This platform continues to rock it out!😎👊 Background This one is gonna be fimmed out and defo’d as a comparative to its manifolded kush sister. Nov 26 - start of week 9 and this girl is really coming on. As expected, bushed out huge and starting to crowd in on er Kush neighbour. We’ll still go another full week if possible just for the sake of letting her go. Skipped a calmag/ph rinse to start the week and went straight nute feed because I want to go from a rinse to the flowering regimen in around 6 days from now. Nuttn much else do’n. oh yeah - renegotiated Ironhides contract and he’s back to work. Bout time. He’s got great firepower but what a lazy b$&@h!!! THANSK AS ALWAYs for taken a look - 6 days to the flower show!!!🤘👍🤙👊😎 Nov. 28 update - still just waitn on the flip. Tiny little bit of lst just to get the ties where we want em for the stretch. No pruning while she does er bush thing.👍 Nov. 30 update - she’s stretched her legs a full 2” in the last 4 days and is now outpacing her kush neighbour in terms of growth. Well see where they end up at the end of the week. SHOULd get pretty close to the 12” pre-flip benchmark by Sunday so We might fill out the whole cabinet yet! STAY tuned y’all, pre-flip defo coming up!👍😎👌 Background This one is gonna be fimmed out and defo’d as a comparative to its manifolded kush sister. Dec. 3 - started week 10 off with a bunch of work. Did a little bit of tie back to spread er out to the max as well as a pre-flower defo. Man this girl is bushy but she’s also growing so healthy and strong. She’s sprouted up as well gaining about 2.5” in the last week alone. That said, We’re holding on flower just yet while they gain some more height. I said I wasn’t gonna do this last week and we may be tempting fate here but gonna try and get em to at least 12” in height and then flip (hopefully some time this week). If they double in height over flower then we’ll pretty much max out all available vertical space. If they more than double... possible light burn issue without some selective supercropping but let’s see what happens anyway😉. Thanks to everyone for the comments and thoughts as always - stay chill folks!👍👊 Dec. 7 update - the time has finally come to flip to flower. But first, these girls needed yet another defo session. It’s amazing how quickly she’s grown and releafed. GOnna change over to the flower nute sched. on next feed. Thanks for stoppn in folks!😎👊 Background This one is gonna be fimmed out and defo’d as a comparative to its manifolded kush sister. Dec. 13 - start of week 11 and all's well into the flip to flower. Clipped 'er out real good twice but there's no stopping these girls. Probably looking at some serious pruning over the next 2 weeks. We'll keep it light but regular and with luck, it'll be a perfect mix between max photo synth. and energy allocation. We've gone much more aggressive with the nute shed. - gonna jam 'em every feed on a 5:1 ratioof full strength to calmag only and see how they take to it instead of the current 3:1. @quexos was spot non about the defo - shoulda been a little more ruthless but all good - we'll get there homie😉 Thanks again to the usual suspects for the comments and critiques. You folks continue to keep it chill, enlightening and positive - you grow fiends have been awesome and best to all of you this Christmas!👊 Peace, love and all that other stuff.😎 Dec. 16 update - the stretch is on heavy! That said, this girls an NL strain so likely won’t stretch nearly as much as her kush neighbour. May need to prop her up at some point soon🤔. Cheers y’all!👊 Background This one is gonna be fimmed out and defo’d as a comparative to its manifolded kush sister. Dec. 17 - start of week 12 and we’re now into week 2 of the stretch. She shot up another 2 inches this last week and has actually done well to keep pace with the kush. She’s squat and more compact in comparison to the kush which is doing everything it can to crowd er out. she’s def. bushier though and still showing off some awesome leaf deformities. On the feeding side of things, we’re moving into the 6th straight nute feed shortly but she’s taken it really well so why not push it a little further during the stretch and see what happens. Cheers folks and thanks for stoppn in👊. Dec. 18 update - not much do’n, lett’n er continue to stretch out with minimal interference. She’ll need a small clipp’n on next feed but pots haven’t dried out yet due to a heater malfunction yesterday. ALL Good👍 Dec. 19 update - first feed of the week and gave her a very light prune just to get some better bud exposure. Had to clip a couple stems too just cuz it’ll be nothin but larf. ALLS still good! Dec. 22 update - Houston, we have budlets! First true flowers are coming in nicely and all going as planned. Can’t really see it due to the blurple light but she’s showing some early signs of purple hue in the pistils - cool!👍 She’s gonna get another light clipp’n today or tomorrow as we head into the third week of the stretch. Growth has been phenomenal and so far, no signs of stress or issue with the regular pruning (if anything this is continuing to prove itself a good approach). Maximum plant material retention for photosynthesis while also maintaining as much light penetration as possible with almost no significant stress👍 - treat’n ‘er gentle like a true lady deserves😉. Background This one is gonna be fimmed out and defo’d as a comparative to its manifolded kush sister. Dec. 24 - start of week 13 and we’re now into week 3 of the stretch. Growth has been good again this week and she’s pushed up huge another 2”+. We’ve been prune’n her here and there as per usual and the photos. She’ll be getting another big defo at some point next week as we head into the back half of flower. Dec. 31 - start of week 14 and this marks the end of the third week of the stretch. It should be coming to a close soon so this will be our last major defo as the rest of flowering finishes up. Don’t know what to say - we left for the holiday tour and 5 days later they’ve exploded into a hot mess! This ones Gettn crowded out by the kush pretty fierce but still keeping pace well, height-wise at least. Frost is starting to come in as well as bud development and she’s starting to display an earthy aroma😜. As you can see by the photos, we picked a demarcation line for where We’d clean up the larfy stuff getting no light. The decision here is based on how much light penetration we’re getting through the plant while also keeping in mind that we’re trying to save as much usable popcorn bud as possible. Big nugs are nice but little ones smoke just the same😉. Clipped out a couple branches that simply won’t make it and a huge amount of fan leaves providing too much shade. Again, just take’n out what needs to be taken out while trying to limit plant stress as much as possible. IMO - Little bits at a time will give you a better sense of light penetration and what will (and won’t) be usable bud come harvest. Happily - she hasn’t slowed down one bit👍. Not much doing now but some occasional pruning and trich. Watching. Thanks as always for stopping by and good luck with the grows!👊 Background This one is gonna be fimmed out and defo’d as a comparative to its manifolded kush sister. 2sq/ft). With the coco medium we’re hoping for that 20% bump in yield as well. THANKS for check'n er out👊

Jan 13. - so we’ve arrived at the end of week 15 - week 5 of flower and things are proceeding as expected. I’m super late on the updates with no video 😔 - it’s been busy these days. They’re stack’n pretty good now but with lots of room to bulk for sure. If I were to guess at this point I think they’ll run a little late at like 9/10 weeks flower. Got the first set of trich. Photos up and they’re forming well👍. They’re also startn to stink real good. Had to prop this girl up to even er out with the kush a little (about an inch height diff. Between the two). Also had to clip out a couple little stalks that really shoulda been removed a couple weeks ago but hey - i was stoned😎. Gonna continue to prune here and there to the end and I’ll probably pick a benchmark leaf to leave in place for the photo finish😉. Hope alls well with everyone - been picking up lots of intel in the forum lately and thanks again for the support and knowledge y’all!👊 Background This one is gonna be fimmed out and defo’d as a comparative to its manifolded kush sister. Start of week 6 of flower and all is excellent! The girls are drinking mad now, about 5L a piece every 2 days or so. Watering regimen hasn’t really changed but Runoff is less and less - I’ve been pushing the nute sched. Hard and haven’t given em a straight water in awhile. No ill affects but I have given consideration to cutting out the calmag complete anyway... any experienced thoughts on this appreciated folks😉👍. Someone asked me about defo recently and I’ve been having some good convos about it with others - as u can see, I’m still trimming out each plant regularly even this late game. Again just maxxing out light exposure and tryn to get a good balance of leaves and air flow. The northern lights is startn to colour out nicely and the kush plain stinks! There are officially plans and permits in place with the better half for a significant addition to the existing space (f&$k yeah!). We’ll be swapp’n out the blurple light in short order for something a little more, how you say.... crazy awesome! For now with this cycle, feed and wait. We’re starting to get there now😎👌🤞. Thanks again to the usual suspects, home stretch is come’n up fast y’all!👊 Background This one is gonna be fimmed out and defo’d as a comparative to its manifolded kush sister. Week 17 Update So we’re coming down to the wire and the trichs are starting to cloud out faster than expected. I have seen a couple hints of amber on the upper buds. That said the middle and bottom buds are still underdeveloped so still a couple weeks out👍. I’ve cut out the calmag complete and it really shouldn’t need to be supplemented any further. I’ll stick to a reduced nute feed coming in to flower week 8 and then hopefully on to the flush for week 9 (trich. Dependant). Again, no ill affects from the light being so close at 11” - we had a fairly large amount of larf on the last cycle and wondering if this was due to light distance more so than lack of penetration. Either way, they both got a light final prune to keep the lower buds exposed and air flowing as much as possible. All but a waiting game now folks. Thanks again for taken a look and happy grow’n👊. Welcome to flower week 8 and we’re now almost at the end of this cycle - pretty much as expected in terms of timing and the flush is starting in a few days. Trichomes have started to amber on the tops and leaf tips are starting to colour out. Still not seeing quite as much cloud as preferred. However, Even some of the lower larf should be just about ready in another week or so. I’ll get some trich. Photos up soon. The plan was to ensure that each strain would be close to the other in terms of harvest time and so far they’ve been in lockstep👍. Not sure what to say except that this ones been classic northern lights - exactly as advertised. Easy maintenance, not too smelly. I don’t expect an abundant yield but that’s typical for NL and she’s been a champ otherwise. Week+ more to the finish folks - thanks for stoppn in🤘🤙👊. Week 19 Update - here we are at the end of the line😎. Mid week 9 and they’re both pretty much ready. Flushing continues, approx. 50% more water through each of em every 3 days. The northern lights definitely, you can see the trich degradation on the tops and even cloud right through for the most part. she could chop any time (probably End of the week) - right where I wanted er 👍. The kush might go a couple days longer but at this point, think I’ll probably take er down at the same time. She’s colouring out super nice and should be perfect in a few days. Stay tuned and thanks for come’n along as always. Next post will probably be full harvest details and the stash will finally be back in the heavy green. It’s jazz hands time!!!! 👐🤙🤘😎 Background This one is gonna be fimmed out and defo’d as a comparative to its manifolded kush sister. I guess I first have to extend a big thank you to James and the folks at RQS. The genetics of their “Northern Light” did not disappoint and this was a no fuss grow across all categories. This will be the only time you hear me refer to Northern Lights in the singular. It’s kinda like calling a “pickerel” a “walleye” - you just don’t do that up here😉. She took well to training, showed no signs of lockout or deficiency, and we were at the top limits of botanicare’s recommended feeding schedule the whole time. I’d call this typical NL - the scent wasn’t overly powerful, she grew somewhat squat and while I’m actually very surprised at the final weigh (thought it would be much less), the whole grow was typical of the strain in my experience. Possibly her biggest limiting factor was simply space constraints. The photos pretty obviously demonstrate that she got really crowded out by the neighbouring kush and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if she’d have done a little better with some more room. That said, what isn’t “typical” are the effects. RQS touts this as a cup winner and I can see why. Had the opportunity to sample a little and WHOA! She Hits with a lasting, cerebral and euphoric effect that starts as a light, happy high. Not a crippling or dulling effect at all. Just everything you’d expect from a well rounded strain in general. Perfect. I almost wanna describe it as a classic sativa but I’ve been smoking nothing but a pure indica for so many months now that anything different is gonna feel that way 😂. Thank Christ for some new stash diversity: 1:! Many, many thanks to all those who cared to comment, suggest or converse on this one. It’s been a pleasure hearing from everyone and I did what I could to keep ‘er interesting : 1:. Next up will be a couple autos on RDWC before the summer outdoor season (and a significant indoor upgrade) is upon us. That said, I still might be outta touch for a little while due to “life developments”. All the best with that quality smoke folks😉: 1:😜! Seeya on the flip side.👊😎0
