Photolyases are DNA repair enzymes that repair damage caused by exposure to ultraviolet light. These enzymes require visible light both for their own activation and for the actual DNA repair. The DNA repair mechanism involving photolyase is called photoreactivation
Photoreactivation is possibly the simplest DNA repair mechanism currently known. Pyrimidine dimers introduced into DNA by UV irradiation can be repaired by the action of a single photoreactivating enzyme using light in the range of 310–500 nm as an energy source.
UV @ 280nm should not be applied until 4-6 hours or more have passed with regular light. In nature, the UV index normally peaks in the afternoon. Cannabis plants need time to build a reserve of the photolyase enzyme to assist in the photoreactivation of damage caused by UV.
Added top funnel watering wick, most insects/bugs use damp topsoil 1-2" to reproduce. This uses gravity, 👊👊👊fiber wicks water, and spreads evenly, to keep moisture under the topsoil out of the reach of bugs.
