Do people add more soil to stem, or do I wait until I transplant to the parent pot? It's been 1 full week in solo cup. Going to transplant next wed-sat for the ones that are ready. They aren't stretching it's just the original push through the soil. Maybe 1-3 inch of stem. Thanks

initial growth is slow. after 2 weeks you'll notice more ramp up in that regard. you can if you want - add soil. or bury a bit deeper when you transplant.. doesn't really matter. if they cannot support themselves, something to lean against or more soil can help. whichever is easier for you. if they are sturdy, just wait. Less is more.

How often should I, or do other people go in/open up their tents. I don't want to over do it and ruin the environment that is trying to be maintained or stress the plants out. Thanks!

I open my tent daily to check in on them sometimes many times if im bored The tent is mainly keeping the light in and not blinding me. the environment in the tent is not crazy different from the room it is situated in. Tent is a bit warmer from lights and bit higher RH, but if I open the door on the tent and let the light spill out, plants are still happy as ever. The time to not open the tent is when lights are off. uninterrupted darkness is critical to photoperiods, autoflowers less so but still good to give all living things rest. Good Luck!

I'll be transplanting into coast of main Stonington blend. I've read it can be too hot but is that just for germinating? Or for seedlings too? I'll be adding some of the happy frog happy soil I used for germination under where I plant them. Is it good to pre soak the soil?

Do you line the bottom of your pots with some river rock or something? Or just let the soil fall through the holes? I've never used large pots for anything before only 4 inch for succulents and I used screens. Thanks!

Just soil man, never mind the bullshit. If you in soil or peat with perlite, then you wont have any drainage issues. I guess you could argue that it allows for oxygen to get under the soil, but in my 30 years of growing weed, i say dont waste your time and money putting bullshit in the bottom of your pots. I have to laugh when i see ppl say to pit dryer sheets, clay pellets, newspaper lol, fuck all that. Plant roots grow in soil, not paper and rocks

What type of water do you use to water? I'm just using tap water and will be using a pH meter and ppm so it's in the tps one suggested range. People say tap water needs to sit out to let chlorine evaporate? Ppm is 220 out the faucet.

I use my tap water it normally comes out at 110-125ppm and 7-7.5 Ph... I fill up my 3 gallon jug sometimes just water.. or with nutes. Then I leave the lid off till the next evening. Sit it in a dark cool place and you'll be good! You can add a air stone, as it will add Oxygen to the water and supposedly helps the plants grow better, never done it so idk. I just use tap water left out overnight with or without nutes. Either way works fine. Goodluck you got this growmie 🙏

It depends on what works for you honestly, people are going to tell you both, if you have awesome results with starting in solo cups go with that if you think starting directly into the soil will get you a better result then do that, again it's all personal preference. I grow autos so I like to start directly into the soil since they do not like being transplanted, but sometimes I'll even start in jiffy pellets.

The leaf is touching the soil. I want to remove said leaf but I fear it's too soon and it will stress the plant, but it's not good for the leaf to be touching soil. This guy just wants to grow leaning i tried correcting but didn't work. I want to stake it but idk if it's needed.

It's important to provide proper care for your plant to ensure its healthy growth. If a leaf is touching the soil and you're concerned about it, here are some steps you can consider: Inspect the Leaf: Before taking any action, examine the leaf to see if it's damaged or diseased. If the leaf is healthy, it might be better to leave it on the plant. Pruning: If the leaf is damaged, diseased, or already starting to wither, you can carefully prune it. Use clean, sharp scissors or pruning shears to make a clean cut near the base of the leaf. Be sure to disinfect your cutting tools before and after use to prevent the spread of diseases. Staking: If the issue is that the plant is leaning and you want it to grow more upright, you can consider staking it. Staking can help support the plant and encourage it to grow straight. Use a sturdy stake and gently tie the plant to the stake using soft ties or twine. Be careful not to tie it too tightly, as this can damage the plant. Adjust the Environment: Make sure your plant is receiving the right amount of light, water, and nutrients. Sometimes, a leaning plant can be a sign of it reaching for more light. Adjusting its placement or providing adequate support can help it grow straight. Monitor: Keep a close eye on the plant and its new growth. If you notice any further issues or if the plant continues to lean, you may need to adjust your care routine or consider staking it more securely. Remember that plants can sometimes have their own natural growth habits, and a slight lean may not be harmful. However, if the plant's health is at risk due to the leaf touching the soil or if it's leaning excessively, taking the above steps can help address the issue without causing undue stress to the plant.

Hi there, the plant looks like a bit genetic ill. The leaves have diferent paterns and shapes then the others right ? It can be disaster to flower, or it can be best you ever have :) It is always the lotery. These are preflowers, but it can continue to grow, dont worry.

Yeah I see the female stigmas up top definitely showing sex. It’s not optimal having leaves touch soil. Personally I’d just pull that bottom node off entirely. It won’t amount to much and it’s way to close to soil.

Growmie those few leaves you worried about at the bottom are eventually going to fall off as the plant gets bigger, and you don't have them listed as autoflowers so I don't think they are showing sex and you haven't flipped to 12/12 unless they are autoflower, then this is completely normal.

Today marks the end of week 3. Plants are showing signs of transitioning into flower. Noticed some white things and was told im. Is it too late to train plants once they are in transition/ preflower? I definitely stressed them out letting them sprout in paper towel and transplant

Hey Growmie, Yes, you can train her all the way up until the buds start forming because then you want the plant to focus on flower production. Just remember to be gentle when bending so nothing breaks because I'm pretty sure by now the stems are stiff. Hopefully, this was helpful, and remember ... "Happy Growing" and "Free your mind one puff at a time".

How many times do I last? I bend the main stem over. Now just wait for the branches to stretch? Or if I just did it like this, once will it help? Or I need to get the other branches that grow and bend them down as well? Have a great week!

Hey! Bending the main stem is a classic move. It depends on your training goals. If you're aiming for a more even canopy, you might want to bend down the other branches as they grow. LST (Low-Stress Training) is like yoga for plants, promoting even light distribution and more bud sites. But if you're going for a simpler approach, one good bend might be enough. See how your plant responds, and go with the flow (literally and metaphorically). Happy growing, and have an awesome week too!

This plant has always looked like the leaves have been clawing maybe? It's been this way since it's a seedling. Idk if if it's because that's just how it is. Or it's just because it been to stunted/stressed. Happy growing!

Nah bro it's not clawing. Clawing is when the end of the leaf tip curls down and almost touches itself. Yours is slightly droopy. Could be little to much water could be to much N as others said. Lastly it could be the VPD. Make sure your temp and humidity is in check for this stage of life. It honestly looks pretty healthy if VPD is in check I would just continue doing what your doing just allow for dry back between watering or feeds. This will promote roots to push to find water and fill the container with roots. Goodluck growmie

Not seeing the clawing in the photo, but that doesn't mean it isn't happening, we've talked about this plant before and it still looks like it has too much nitrogen, Nitrogen toxicity in plants results in clawed, shiny, and abnormally dark green leaves, slow growth and weak stems. Your going to have to back off the nitrogen and you might want to consider a flush to get rid of unwanted salts that are being built up in the soil this will help also.

There is too much nitrogen in the feed or you are not getting enough run off to wash out old feeding. Basically you are on a salt build up starting.

It sounds like you're practicing low-stress training (LST) or similar techniques to manipulate the growth of your cannabis plants. If you've already bent the main branch and are wondering about the next steps, here's some guidance: Main Branch Training: If you've bent the main branch (topped or bent it over), the initial goal is often to encourage lateral growth and create a more even canopy. Once you've performed this training, you can let the lateral branches develop. Lateral Branch Development: Allow the lateral branches to grow and develop. As they extend, they'll naturally fill out the space and contribute to a bushier and more even canopy. Spacing and Canopy Management: If you notice that some branches are growing too close together or that the canopy is becoming too dense, you can continue to gently guide the branches away from each other. The idea is to maintain good spacing to ensure adequate light penetration and airflow. LST Techniques: You can continue to use LST techniques as needed. This might involve tying down branches to encourage a more horizontal growth pattern and prevent vertical dominance. Timing of Training: Keep in mind that training is often most effective during the early vegetative stage when the plants are still flexible. As plants transition into the flowering stage, they become less flexible, and major manipulations can stress them. Patience: Be patient and observe how the plant responds to your training. Cannabis is a resilient plant, and with proper care, it can recover and adapt to the training methods. Adapt to the Plant's Growth: Each cannabis plant is unique, so be prepared to adapt your training methods based on how your specific plant responds. Some plants may require more training, while others may naturally grow into the desired shape. Remember, the goal of training is to maximize light exposure to as many bud sites as possible, leading to a more even and higher yield. Always be gentle with your plants to avoid causing stress that could impact their overall health and development. If you have specific concerns or questions about the training process, feel free to provide more details, and I can offer more tailored advice.

Whatever is closest to the Light grows the fastest. (Unless its to close yknow...) If you want your branches to keep up tuck the main stem on a hight lower than the branches if thats possible. Or keep it on a level so the others catch up. If you leave it it will harden and stay that way wich makes further LST harder or impossible in some cases.

You don't necessarily want to have the ac blowing on your cannabis. The trick to drying and curing is to get a even, slow dry. 60/60 is ideal. 60F and 60% humidity.

Hello my friend, I see in your diary that your humidity is 55% and you really do not want to make it less humid inside the dry room! The ideal temperature for drying cannabis should be between 60 and 70°F, with a relative humidity for drying cannabis should sit between 45% and 55%. If the temperature is too high during the drying process, it can cause the buds to dry too quickly, leading to a harsh smoke and undesirable taste. Enjoy the harvest buddy! 💚

I have not used a portable AC unit to dry my weed before. I just toss it in my tent hanging upside down and its temps are normally 18-21c works fine for me. If your set on using a portable AC, I'd recommend using it in a room the tent is in, then pull the air into the tent on low with the extractor fan. or hang all the plants in that room and make it pitch black, this is how a youtube grower I know does his weed with an ac unit. Good Luck!

Hey there Bud, looking good! Mephisto is all autos, so I wouldn't top them. I think for autos you are generally never advised to top them, training is recommended though. I think the whole game with autos is babying them to not stress them out or stunt them since they are on a timer. If you look at my grows you can see how long it takes to recover from screw ups (I post it all). So plant ties or a trellis net may be preferable to help avoid defoliating more than is necessary. That leaf that is touching the soil is a cotelydon, the first leaves that come out with the taproot. They will eventually turn yellow and fall off. Or just turn yellow, so don't freak out if that happens later. You could pluck it, but I'd just leave it until later if it was me. Good luck on the grow, you're off to a great start
