After 3 years I have put the tent up again. I am rather excited and am looking forward to the grow. I know that Shogun is amazing and I am Really looking forward to the tight and potent bud.
I am also super excited for Mimosa!
Using the paper towel method for germination because it is easy and I have very good experience with it.
The ladies grow very quickly and look healthy. It's interesting to see the difference in size between the 3 plants. The tallest germinate quickly. The 2nd one germinated 12 - 24h later and the 3rd one was added about 3 or 4 days after the first two.
The tallest one was topped the the beginning of the week now. The second one will be topped when she is ready a day or two later and the smallest one will need an extra few days.
This will result in difference in size until the last day but that's OK.
It was a busy week for the ladies. They were putting a lot of energy into growing, wow. I even decided to top the tallest plant a second time. Very interested into the result.
No watering was required since I put them into the big pots. I watered the soil before very very well and it still holds enough moisture and nutrients.
Probably another 1,5 weeks before switching to flowering.
Mid week update:
I noticed some moisture on the leaves after the dark period plus I noticed that the ends of the new growth were showing signs of heat stress.
I added a fan plus I installed the air filter which continuously pulls fresh air into the grow tent and deals with the smell which started quite early in the veg cycle already.
Due to the quick growth I installed the SCROG net for the first time ever.
Been having some issues this past week. Very slow growth and stress signs on the leaves. Realized that the VPD was not correct.
Because I switched the air filter on the humidity and temperature in the tent was too low.
I switched the air filter off and within a day the ladies grew more than they have in the whole of last week.
Humidity and temperature rose significantly to about 26°C and 80%. It might be a bit high but the ladies prefer it to the low humidity before.
I don't have a perfect set up so I am happy that I could solve some issues this way.
I loved the development during the past veg week and I would have loved to let them grow a bit longer and adjust to the SCROG but because I a running out of space I had to switch to flower now.
I added my two little flower light bars to the side of the tent and switched the first night to flower by reducing the light time by 3,5h. From then onwards the light cycle will be 12/12. Lights on during the night and off during the day. This keeps me from checking my tent too often 😉
Flower stretch in full swing. Ladies are healthy and strong but I snapped one stem of the smallest plant without noticing while installing my air filter. Sad but it's ok. Space is already crowded anyway...
Another successful week without much to report.
The ladies are growing larger than expected and I hope I can make do with the space I have.
Some defoliation will happen now in week 3 of flower.
Last week I defoliated dramatically and I am amazed and shocked at how much those plants stretched. I never had that before with the same sativa/indica mix. The flower sites look rather small and the development of the flowers seems to also be a bit slow.
Let's see where this grow takes us.
Everything is going well but it is not the best grow. I left way too many small bud sights at the lower half of the plant and the main buds are not growing to be as big as I hoped.
This is a reflection of me not being fully invested in this grow but it is still great to see that the grow is going OK even though I do not put so much energy into it. Mimosa is a great strain and looks amazing.
The plant growing to the front of the tent has an amazing purple hue to it. I love it.
Following the biobizz feeding schedule. Am too lazy to update all the nutrients here. This is week 7 of flower.
Week 8 of flower with strict biobizz feeding schedule.
Last week was again very uneventful. Didn't check much on the ladies but they developed beautifully.
Thick strong and purple buds. Lovely.
Ladies are ready for harvest. I initiated a 48h dark period at the first day of this week. After monitoring the trichomes closely last week just enough turned amber now.
I want to harvest before too many trichomes turned amber to keep the effect more energetic and clear.
Last week I only fed water and I am not watering before harvest again to endure a little more stress.
The location of my grow does not allow a proper flush.
