Day 0: Soaked seeds for 18 hours and placed directly in soil. Using build a soil light with some big foot gold to build microbes. So fucking stoked to start this run finally!
Day 1: See week 1 of veg
Day 1: Seedlings look good. Jelly Donutz looks to be in great condition and emerged first. Hella Jelly is a wee bit yellow and emerged with some struggles (no help).
Donutz Triploid added to this grow series!
Day 7: everything's goin fine for these two girls. does look like donutz is a tad greener than the hella. Added a wee bit o compost tea the other day that they seem to likey likey.
Day 15: Hella Jelly is definitely showing its sativa side. Jelly Donutz is squatting up like a nice indica would. Will be topping both next week. Transplanted them. Trying cloning for the first time on these two in about two weeks.
Day 4: Donutz Triploid! Holy fuck is it exciting to grow some brand-new gear that no one has tried. Stoked for this one.
Day 21ish for the hella jelly and jelly donutz. Day 7ish for the Donutz Triploid. Cannot wait to start cloning these expensive genetics to make some babies.
Topped and cloned the two jelly girls and the donutz triploid is putting out seven-fingered fan leaves already. very excited to try cloning for the first time.
Topped four side branches on the hella. Left the Jelly donutz untopped. Topped the main stem for the triploid. Creamy GLVs for smelling the triploid cut makes for unique and worthwhile to pursue mothering this girl. Looking forward to seeing roots on the clones, but none yet to show.
Day 46 for the hella jelly and jelly donutz. These girls have are both now mothers, having successfully rooted clones of each. The Triploid is next, and hopefully she will birth many clones as the seeds were mighty expensive and are sold out online.
Light defoliation and using LST clips to produce a few more clone sites before flipping these girls into flower. They are both ready, with the hella jelly showing calyxes and the jelly donutz showing sex. The Donutz Triploid has so much stretch and too much internodal spacing to do much more cloning. Hoping to clone one more off her before the flip.
Added pics of the triploid!
Day 46 for the 3x Donutz and Day 59 for the jelly girls. The jelly girls are getting out of control - cloning more, and still out of control growth. Wish the 3x Donutz were out of control, but she be lanky and only one clone taken, lucky with roots, for her.
fuck these girls want to flip. they are so big. scrog is a requirement for support and to limit height. might need a second screen, too. flipping in 2 weeks or sooner.
Day 1ish of 12:12 light sched. Gradual transition took place starting with drop for 18 to 17 to 16 over a week or so. This will reduce stress and delay flowering, which hope is will allow for recovery time from defoliation.
2 one gallons (a hella jelly and a jelly donutz) are clones. Other plant is unknown free humboldt seed (lost tag) could be pistachio or london pound cake.
Signs of pistils on all varieties. Looking forward to these in the coming weeks and hopeful the stretch can be managed easily despite different strains.
Week one of flower has gone well. Internodal stacking on each strain, with more spacing for Donutz Triploid than other varieties. Will begin close-up pics soon as trichomes are forming.
day 22 of 12:12 light schedule. day 20ish of flower. these girls are happy, fairly healthy, and just got a top dress of power bloom. watering daily about 1 liter.
No more pollen sacs (so far) on the triploid. Plucked four in total all from lower growth. Humboldt hooked it up with 3 free packs (12 seeds) due to the intersex issues and changing the website to outdoor only after the sale date.
HJ = Helly Jelly (45 days for flowering)
JD = Jelly Donutz (55 days for flowering)
D3n = Donutz Triploid (55 days for flowering)
getting closer to harvest.
Winter frost nug shots. the fade and some deficiency in hella jelly. Jelly Donutz clone is purple af compared to the mother, must be nutrient supply in the 7 gallon. slowly getting to finish line.
Finally identified the mislabeled plant - pistachio no doubt about it. all varieties are expressing late flower traits, including increased terpenes. Candy on Candy for the two Jelly varieties. Donutz 3n smell is funky vanilla, not a fan, but better than pretendica.
not worth 30 a seed, but fun to try out growing a triploid.
during early flower: removed four premature anthers only from lower growth.
late flower: trichomes visibly larger and longer than other varieties in the tent
72 grams of dried and semi-cured creamy buds. smooth smoke already despite the need to drop humidity below 59% fully. not much larf surprisingly but will be fun to see how much hash each strain gets considering others in the tent had way more.
Harvest: somewhat early, but solid nugs and yield - easy trimming and quick to dry compared to other leafy varieties
terps: creamy dough mostly with hint of sweet cinnamon sugar vanilla - just like the pack says, but still not impressed really
Drama about these seeds: got store credit on the pack of 3 seeds just because of website change to outdoor only after purchase date. excited to grow other HSC strains next year.
Lots of hype for this strain. High temps may have burned up some of the dank.
Early flower was a breeze with minimal stretch.
Late flower was a tad sketch with one anther from the triploid possibly getting some pollen on the hella.
Harvested the mother earlier than should have, but so is life.
Harvested the clone after 1 week of 18:6 light schedule at end of flower.
Interested to compare results and terpenes.
105g dry (fuckin shit won't save).
The main struggle with this grow was the heat from the ac infinity ionboard heat. forced to upgrade to the ionframe for the driver removal but only after harvesting this batch.
Put this girl through so much stress and for a 2$ seed from NASC, damn! gotta say she is nutty creamy sweet dank-ness. one of my best grows in terms of terpene after cure. amazing high and potent af too.
She was the smallest harvest of the 4x4 run. All humboldt seed co strains and this one, which cost only two dollars, was the best out of all the strains! Wish I cloned her.
@McGrowin, man that's crazy! The triploid. I've got two of those in the past. One was with the jelly donutz. But I've heard the Donutz is better than what I grew so good luck
@McGrowin, I didn't get any triploid but got Golden Sands/Guzzlers/Orange Creampop. Exciting time to be alive, I gotta say. Gonna be paying attention to updates on the tripload good luck bro
@GreenWeeds, one of the hella clones rooted super well. Would prefer to flip to flower after 1 month of veg, but have to go for 2 months of veg because of humboldt auto run in same tent. what size final pots for ur hellas? 7 gallons of slow release dry amendments for the one in this diary but will be doing 3 or 5 gallons for the clones in separate diary. The clones will veg for only one month, but the mom here will veg for 2 months or so, so at least another 2-4 weeks.
I want to try those new Triploid strains. Very interesting. Is there any wide differences you sew in growing it? I look forward to seen your harvests.
Soon this will take hold & all the breeders will be adding the 3rd chrom. Very hard 2 get in the EU, every site I've checked are all sold out. Might just bite the bullet & order from US
Viel Glück and keep on plucking😁
Any tips on flowering with different times? I’m going to have 1 tent in a room same place to grow and dry could I run hella jelly and a 50-55 day strain?
@OzziGrowsTV, yea Hella Jelly seems to finish slower than the pack says. HomeGrow TV did that and seems it worked out well for him so just go for it man! always something to learn and adapt to when running different varieties in one tent. https://youtu.be/lJucn4GBag0?si=wdoHvwclDhiRs64j&t=908
