===== 10/22 Germination Day 0 ===== Planted 6 harlequin seeds in about a cm deep in 50/50 perlite/vermiculite inside ice tray with holes drilled in the bottom of it. Watered with RO water with h2o2 and pH’d to 6.15; Placed them inside germination dome and spritzed inside with water. Placed on top of heat pad and put in tent with 150 PPFD lighting on an 18 hour day/6 hour dark schedule. I got this germination method from Hoocho who used it for getting vegetable plants ready to go into his NFT systems. The idea is to have roots that can be pulled free of their substrate in order to go directly into hydroponics with less "shock". ===== 10/23 Germination Day 1 ===== Just spritzed the dome with some water to keep the moisture up. ===== 10/24 Germination Day 2 ===== Checked the substrate and found it to still have moisture. Will hold off on watering. ===== 10/25 Germination Day 3 ===== Three have sprouted! They were the seeds assigned Green, White and Pink. Two have helmet head so I added two drops of water + h2o2 onto each. ===== 10/26 GerminationDay 4 ===== Green’s helmet fell off. Pink’s was still dangling so I helped it along. ===== 10/29 Germination Day 7 ===== I’m worried because I used Miracle Grow perlite that the results were not as good as possible. Will try again another time with another perlite. I will move forward with just the three: Green, White and Pink. Today I removed them from the seedling tray by submerging the whole thing in water and then wiggling them and pulling out the roots and all. I put them into my cloning machine with 2 gallons RO water, 40 ml Clonex solution and 1 ml Orca. The water was pH’d to 6.1; They were placed back under the light which was 12” distance at 180 PPFD. I set the pump to spray in 1 minute ON/9 minutes OFF cycles.

===== 11/1 Veg Week 1 Day 1 (10) ===== Moved the plants to their smart pots. The system is set to flood a half hour after lights on and again 2 hours before lights out. Rez: 40 gal RO water 19 ml TPS Silica 34 ml FloraMicro 10 ml DynaGro Grow 14 ml FloraBloom 17 ml Diamond Nectar 20 ml Orca ===== 11/4 Veg Week 1 Day 4 (13) ===== I have just been top-feeding them once per day an inch or so away from their stems. I will probably stop doing this and see if they are getting enough moisture from the floods now. Water read this morning at 5.92 pH which is perfect. ===== 11/5 Veg Week 1 Day 5 (14) ===== Top fed. pH has gone up a bit but is still in safe range. Will recalibrate and check with the pH meter tomorrow before adjusting. Might stop top-feeding soon and see how they do. Beginning of week 2 maybe. ===== 11/6 Veg Week 1 Day 6 (15) ===== Top fed. Adjusted pH with a small amount of down. ===== 11/7 Veg Week 1 Day 7 (16) ===== I skipped the top feed today. Will see how they do.

===== 11/8 Veg Week 2 Day 1 (17) ===== Adjusted ph down. ===== 11/9 Veg Week 2 Day 2 (18) ===== Switched to 3 floods per day. ===== 11/10 Veg Week 2 Day 3 (19) ===== Adjusted lights up just slightly to 200 PPFD. ===== 11/11 Veg Week 2 Day 4 (20) ===== I top-fed them, since they are looking a bit hungry. Green in particular is browning. Top fed green again in the evening. Lights went up to 250 ===== 11/12 Veg Week 2 Day 5 (21) ===== Top fed all three plants. Lights to 275. ===== 11/13 Veg Week 2 Day 6 (22) ===== Top fed all three plants AM and PM. ===== 11/14 Veg Week 2 Day 7 (23) ===== Top fed.

===== 11/22 Veg Week 4 Day 1 (31) ===== With this grow I am trying to avoid weekly rez swaps. So instead, I’ve just added water until it was back to 40 in the reservoir. This took about 14 gallons. I then used my excel sheet and only added nutrients for week 4 based on 14 gallons. I added Orca based on the whole 40 gallon reservoir amount, and will continue to try and add Orca every week. I am going to try the Manifold training method, so now that their sixth nodes were growing I topped each plant down to its third node. Then removed the Cotyledon and first and second nodes. Only pink had good node growth, so I will probably have to pick off a couple on the other two once they have grown out a bit more. Added: 14.2 gallons water 15 ml TPS Silica 28 ml FloraMicro 8 ml FloraGrow 11 ml FloraBloom 14 ml Diamond Nectar 20 ml Orca ===== 11/23 Veg Week 4 Day 2 (32) ===== Adjusted lights to 350. ===== 11/24 Veg Week 4 Day 3 (33) ===== I haven’t top fed the last few days and they are looking good. ===== 11/25 Veg Week 4 Day 4 (34) ===== Pulled off the 1st and 2nd node growth tips on White. Pink is growing the best so far. ===== 11/26 Veg Week 4 Day 5 (35) ===== Just letting ‘em grow. ===== 11/27 Veg Week 4 Day 6 (36) ===== Noticed some speckled browning. Will keep an eye on it. ===== 11/28 Veg Week 4 Day 7 (37) ===== “ “

===== 11/29 Veg Week 5 Day 1 (38) ===== Lights to 400. Switched to four feedings a day to see if it would help with the browning. Pink is a champ and is almost ready for the next step of manifold training. Added: 4 gal water 5 ml TPS Silica 9 ml FloraMicro 3 ml FloraGrow 4 ml FloraBloom 5 ml Diamond Nectar 20 ml Orca ===== 11/30 Veg Week 5 Day 2 (39) ===== Just checked/balanced ph. ===== 12/1 Veg Week 5 Day 3 (40) ===== Just checked/balanced ph. ===== 12/2 Veg Week 5 Day 4 (41) ===== All three plants have visible roots coming out the bottom of their smart pots now. I’m a bit disappointed with their size so far given we are on week 5, but maybe now they will all skyrocket? I’m concerned the Miracle Gro perlite might have really hampered them. They also don’t have optimal humidity since my humidifier hasn’t worked in this set up as it is too close to the light and overheats. Next time I will use a controller inside the tent and pipe it through a tube instead of having it inside the tent. ===== 12/3 Veg Week 5 Day 5 (42) ===== Pink has grown four nodes which allowed me to do the next part of the Manifold training: topping above the third node on each branch and removing the 2nd. I also began LST training the limbs out and down. I will continue this every couple days, and will similarly top green and white when their fourth node has grown enough. ===== 12/4 Veg Week 5 Day 6 (43) ===== Daily check-up. ===== 12/5 Veg Week 5 Day 7 (44) ===== Daily check-up.
