slime appeared on the roots
the cause was poor solution isolation due to unfilled perforated pots with expanded clay
small pots were wrapped with insulating material
solution corrected with hydrogen peroxide
slime disappeared the next day
plants feel great
2018-10-13 made lower ppm of solution for 30% and the plant shoot up. now I understand what an overdose is. experience the son of difficult mistakes.
There is an understanding that plant is slowed down in growth. I can not yet understand the reason(s). However, I will continue to harvest, no matter how small it is.
2018-10-17 Finally, the plant began to eat, it is clearly seen on the last pictures!
2018-10-18 Changed solution. Added trichoderma to protect roots.
2018-10-19 Combo Mazar feels great at 870 ppm.
2018-10-21 The temperature of the solution rose to 24 C. Immediately froze a couple bottles of water and threw them into the solution, lowered the temperature to 20-21 C. After a few hours, the plant felt better, the leaves became smoother.
2018-10-22
Combo Mazar slowed down a bit. Very small rusty specks were found on old leaves, but there are many of them. I believe that this is due to problems with the temperature of the solution. PPM is 860.
Continue to lower the temperature of the solution with ice bottles. Hopefully today or tomorrow there will be a cold snap.
2018-10-26
Today redid aeration in the tanks. Put a more powerful compressor. This is the last option that might work.
2018-10-27
Combo Mazar has good chances to produce at least 5-7 grams)))
2018-10-29 Today there was a complete replacement of the solution, because from the previous one the plant ate all the phosphorus and showed its deficiency (or block?).
The baby is very small, but some 8-10 colas has formed.
The whole experience has been taken into account, the next cycle will be much more effective, at least I promise myself that)))
In the meantime, I continue to the victorious end, as there will be so much. Now there is nothing to smoke)))
2018-10-30 The plant began to feed, grew many new roots.
The current state I call "dandelions")))
2018-11-02 Today was defoliation. The plant drinks 0.5 liters of solution per day. pH and PPM are dug in.
2018-11-04 Noticed an interesting feature. 2-3 hours before turning off the light, the plant lowers the leaves, and by the time it is switched on, it lifts vigorously upwards. This suggests that the plant is accustomed to the day-night regime. Rest of the process goes well. The pH level began to drop by 0.1 per day, PPM is slightly increasing. It is necessary to change the solution and slightly reduce the concentration of nutrition.
2018-11-05 The plant drinks, eats and feels good.
2018-11-07 Added some stimulants, ppm now is 1360. Not too high?
2018-11-08 All colas has grown by 2-3 cm per day. Ppm was 1260 and pH was 6.1. The solution dimmed a little.
2018-11-10 Scrogged a little.
2018-11-12 Today replaced the solution. The apartment is cold. The plant seems to have slowed down a bit.
But on all external signs feels great.
2018-11-13 Finally, the house is warm! 1-2 days and the temperature will stabilize. It would not be necessary then to cool the solution again with ice bottles))))
2018-11-14 Reduced the concentration of the solution to 985 ppm due to slight chemical burns of the tips of the leaves. Let's see how to respond.
2018-11-16 By topping up with pure water, the concentration of the solution was reduced to 740 ppm. The plant really liked it.
2018-11-17 Some scrogging...
2018-11-19 Flowering in full swing. Pulling slows down. In the morning, on the day of the compote replacement, my PPM-meter broke down. Therefore, the new solution was kneaded by eye. Tomorrow a new device will arrive and I will clarify what I have mixed there.
2018-11-24 Buds swell, there is time to figure out how to do time lapse video.
2018-11-26 The plant stopped growing upwards and began to build up the bud mass.
Everything goes on as usual, even a bit boring.
2018-11-29 This plant is my first after a few months break in smoking, so unpromising buds ruthlessly cut off )) There is no hope of finding out the full weight at the end.
2018-12-01 Cleaning the roots from salting. GHE FloraKleen for 48 hours.
2018-12-03 After two days of cleaning today the begin of ripenning. HK Flowering is an analogue of GHE Ripen. Plant buds resemble flowers more than in all the varieties I have seen. White and pink on green - it's beautiful!
2018-12-09 The last day of feeding. Tomorrow starts flushing.
I didn't even hope that the final weight of the product would be so significant. This was the first cycle on DWC and, in addition for restocking, it was aimed to accumulate experience.
I ruined one of the plants. With the help of hydrogen peroxide, I almost burned the roots to the second.
Vegetative period was sad. But on the flowering, the ambient temperature dropped and the solution was no longer filled with biology. So further events were filled with joy and the cycle ended with a staggering (for me) result - almost a gram per watt. 😃
I also understood my mistakes in the Scrog technique. Next time I will weave differently.
Thanks to everyone who watched, commented, worried.
Next cycle ahead!
Hey looking great so far! Dope DIY buckets!! I’m NO expert in DWC but I can make 1 suggestion: be cautious of the water level when you are putting in those water bottles! I noticed I tried tht once and my plant woke up the next day super droopy and sad looking ! Quickly realized it was the water level rise that was drowning the roots not allowing oxygen
Nice diary so far! Ill be dropping a follow! Best of luck in the coming weeks 😎
(General-hydroponics Trio nutrients are listed on grow diaries as a selection. If you wanted to make it link to the correct Nutrients you can search for it!)
Oh OK man no problem! Its always interesting to hear about local products/strains.
Use whatever nutrients get the job done - i'm not judging! Besides there is only so many ways to split N-P-K lol 😂
@HighTV, thank you, bro!
I use not GHE nutrients. It's ukrainian local factory replication of the GHE trio.
This is a proven product of good quality, there are many reports using this nutrients in the Russian and Ukrainian forums.
Hello, I wanted to suggest that you get some hydroguard and add it to your buckets. It will battle the slime in your roots and does not kill the beneficial microbes like hydrogen peroxide does. Good luck with your grow!
@Brustwehr, I can't tell by your nutrients listed if you were trying an organic grow. With the organic grows, h202 will kill beneficial bacteria, that's why I pointed it out. Good luck with your grow.
@BeefWellingtons, in my humble opinion, there should not be any bio in DWC at all, just mineral nutrients and water. But thank you!
P.S. hydrogen peroxide does not kill aerobic microbes and, therefore, helps the proper microflora
@BeefWellingtons, thank you, bro!
These are ordinary PC coolers 120 mm 3000 rpm, twisted together by ties and powered by the 12 volt aquarium power supply.
@Kiewil1, thank you, bro!
During this first unsuccessful cycle, box seems big and lifeless. But expectation was that even one autoflower would tear the box to shreds.
In the next cycle it will be)
Yeah bro you won't notice anything right away and sometimes affected leaves will never recover so you want to monitor new growth to make sure it's not continuing, I would buy some proper calmag from Amazon or Ebay if I was you personally as the brown spots will be calcium deficiency but definitely from your leaves you also have a magnesium deficiency, not trying to put down your grow as I have a calmag issue myself and left it a bit late to add - calcium and magnesium needs will only increase the bigger the plant gets so address the issue now if you can
