OkieJim Set up and ready to fire it off. Just waiting on my ph kit before I start. I live in a very rural area so have to order everything. Custom built 3 x 4 x 8 box. Needed the extra height for this huge grow light I am using for veg and flower... need about 36 inches from canopy. Lol. Feel free to critisize. I am a new grower. Just wanna grow some quality medicine.

OkieJim So I guestimated the ml amounts on the list above. Just what was suggested on the box minus 25% except used full strength floramicro. Been an anxious week. Reservoir is changed with about 2 inches of clearance between the 12 gallons of water solution and the bottom of the net pots. I now understand about the bubbles popping. Didnt realize they would be so agro. Awesome. Didnt get pics like a dummy but the roots are about 1/4 of an inch out of the bottom of the pots. Just one main taproot from each pot. They should do something this week. Thank you to everyone that lent me advice. I know I can ne annoying but your help is greatly appriciated..!!!

OkieJim It has been soooo stressful this week. I donated 2 to my friend and one is about to go so I only have the two pictured. Growing fast and strong. Just now seeing the 4th set of leaves develope. Yesterday I noticed the roots are turning brown but the plants have no symptoms of root rot. I changed my reservoir and coated it entirely with foil and taped up all possiblelight leaks. Upped my hydroguard dose and lowered the temp in my grow room to average in the upper 70s. Today I noticed These babies, (Raelynn and Raeline), are growing voraciously and are not showing any signs of root rot at all. There is no bad smells from the res and no physical signs. Idk. Baffled and hoping it is just nute stain. When changing the reservoir I did not scrub as I did not want to loose the good bacteria I have cultured. Fi gets crossed because if all goes well will be starting my Nebula Haze's Manifolding technique along with some LST. Open to advice and comments please... Not sure why the nute levels are off so badly.... see pic to see actual levels... I input the correct amount but when I save I get crazy numbers. Lol sorry

OkieJim This wea a stressful week. I chopped them up. But seeing them not slow down at all growth wise is amazing. These girls are tough. I am seeing super rapid growth. I wanted to wait until they were a little bigger to take the fan leaves and start training but they are starting to get fat. Like stalks and stems are exploding so I may need to start today.

OkieJim Alot has happened this week. If you scroll through the pics they are from today back. They stalled for a couple days after taking the fan leaves should have waited a few more days. But after that stall, man alive they are BUSHING out everywhere. Nodes are super tight still not as bad as before but still stacking on their shoulders. They have 5 pair of nodes on each side already and just bushy as hell. Fear to do damage by defoliating too soon. I am not going to raise my light anymore to force stretch, but it would ease my mind to see at least an inch between the nodes verses the 1/4 inch spacing that exists as of now. Need to finish my manifold bit want to let them get bigger before I do that....

OkieJim Well all is well. Just waiting for them to start their dance. Here are the pics for this week. Some of my oldest fan leaves are looking pretty bad but overall they look great. Their roots are MASSIVE! Stalks are about 1.5 maybe 2 inches in diameter. New growth is taking over the canopy. Everything looks like I am gonna have a nice flat canopy. Just damn, they are bushy. I upped their nute solution to 3/4 of what the schedule says and they seem to love it. The very next day the fan leaves started to spread out and stand straight out instead of resting on each other. I have a feeling that I am about to see alot od growth over the next couple weeks. It is looking like I am not going to be able to start flowering for that long, but that's fine. If that's what they want then that's what they will get. They are the boss. Lol. I just wanted to say that I am happy to have so much support from the community here. Awesome place to start my roots. I have referred a couple of my friends that are in my shoes. Thank you to everyone!!!

OkieJim No nutes. Gonna flush these girls for a couple days. Then go back to 65% solution. Had alot happen this week. I defoliated them, accidentally broke off a main tip!!! While checking ph. Sucks. 2 days after defol, they boomed. Now they are just bushy as hell. Want to wait at least 2 more days to defol again. But they are definately bushy. Lol. Getting big. I have 8 nodes on each growth tip, one is crazy has a double node so now I have 9 mains on one plant and 7 on the other. Crazy growth right now. I mean crazy. Visited my buddy and his plants are close to the same age as mine almost same setup only he is using a 1000w HPS. His plants are budding and are 42 inches tall!. He doesnt have near the nodes as me and his nodes are spaced 2 to 4 inches apart. Same strain!!!! He has the 4 other babies I donated to him. Dwc and nutes same. IDK. I think it is my light. I mean to say my light is a Bad Boy Comercial light so IDK. I am not even in Flower yet. Wanna wait another week before I switch. They just dont feel like they are ready to flower yet. I do have my first pistol showing. Sweet. Love it!!!!

OkieJim Well here are this weeks pics of the Girls. They are getting so big. I have been defoling 4 or 5 of the bigger fan leaves every other day and cannot keep up with the growth. If you move ANY leaf there is baby leaves under there just waving at me. I will probably start flower this week. PS, flushing these babies is the key. Prior to flushing I thought they grew rapidly, but afterwards they went CRAZY! I am having trouble keeping up. Will probably do a 20% defol today then wait for them to recover then switch to flower.

OkieJim Okay, flowering as of today, 12/1/18. Trimmed them up and changed the reservoir and set the timer. Also did a quick run through to ensure I have no light leaks. I am good to go I think. Vegitation is sooo thick. So many budsite. Crazy... The pics are after a pretty heavy defol. At least 20%

Per defol, is it true the less budsites you leave after defoliation,(cutting smaller budsites and stems), the bigger and better your buds get and increased harvest weight? It seems like reverse to me...

hey man yes, basically for defoliation people over do it on the leaves which leaves the plant with less tools to absorb the light energy for photosynthesis. bad leaf defoliation can hurt yield, increase time to harvest, that sort of thing.... however pruning the flower nodes especially the little flower nodes that are located down the branch that will stay small, the so called popcorn bud, if you remove them early enough in flower , then this will force the plant to send the energy to the upper flower sites and these will get fatter, actually improving the yield. I hope this helps my friend ! i will follow and see how it works out for you ! 🚀

OkieJim Growing. Their stems finally got long enough to do some better LST. so I did end up trimming about 8 leaves, but they had to go. other than that I am letting them do their thing. I like how I was able to open them up for air flow. they definately like their nutes. PH kept dropping and PPM eas down also. right now everything looks good. Fresh solution change and now they are good to go. 12/11 Well trellis is up please dont judge too hard. Lol. First time and I made it from scratch. Just a simple net and I stapled it to the studs. I can really see all of the budsites now. I will defol them this weekend. They have gotten massive since Saturday. That's only 3 days. They have pretty much filled up the bottom of my growbox. Stunned...

OkieJim This weeks pics from today back for the past week. I did a pretty decent defoliation on them Wednesdayish and you couldnt even tell by Friday. They are growingso fast and bushy. Nodes are so close together that vegitation is thick as hell. I have been watching closely for flowers. I am starting to see them start. Prettyexciting stuff happening! 😀

OkieJim This week was a walk in the park. Just feed them a gallon a day of solution and they are happy. I have noticed they like that I have stopped tucking and training. They are stretching but not as fast as I would like to see. I think the trellis is useless. No trimming at all this week and they are happy with that too. Seems like they stop stretching if I trim anything. So I am probably going to remove the trellis and let them do their thing. I definalely let them Veg way too long. So now they are bushy little munsters and I dont think there is anything I can do about that now. They are definately showing off their Indica Phenotypes right now. Hope to see a little more of the sativa characteristics soon. Like to see some daytime meds but either way I am stoked they are flowering and smell great when I open the box. Stoked with how they have turned out, but I will not let them beg that long again. Lol. 12/24 Edit... Stretching for all they are worth. Almost tall enough to lollipop. Just not sure if that is the righ move. Flowers are forming nicely. I count 72 flowers . That is too many for my grow space!!!! Any advice??? Edit 12/26 So it is getting so late into flower that I was nervous of waiting too long. Maybe already have but here goes. They look Great IMHO. Gonna keep an eye on them really close. Hopefully everything is gonna be fine. They are voracious as it is anyway.... 🤯😨😳

OkieJim STRETCH!!!! They are stretching and drinking. I didn't even get a stall from that heavy defol Sunday. They just kept right on trucking along. Preflowers/pistols look to have a purplish tint on Raeline. Raelynn has creamy ones. Interested to see this showdown in Flower mode! Raeline is growing up and Raelynn is growing out. They are hungry that's for sure. I finally got my EC pen in and have their EC set right.

OkieJim Man, I have been fighting foliage. They have stretched alot this week. Doesnt seem like the stretching is slowing down at all. Counted 72 budsites. That's what's on top. Lots more just below the canopy. Finally starting to see some good bud formation. 👽

OkieJim Super cool week Chilling with the ladies. They were my comfort this week during the storm. They are doing their thing for sure. I am mostly worried about keeping them separated. Starting to have to tie more and more away from each other. Their growth is crazy. I think they are done shooting out new leaves. Seems like the canopy is starting to thin out a little and now I am able to see which buds need to be tied where to keep them from sticking to the ether. Super sticky. Super smelly. I can only imagine what they are gonna taste like after my cure. Think they are coming along nicely. Was definately a great idea to switch lights. They love the blurple light. Giant Thank you to all that has helped my first grow be so successful up to this point. Really happy I found this community... Hope everything is going alrite and their ladies are good.... Edit 1/13/19 So I found out that taking pictures with a clip on microscope is not so easy... lol...

OkieJim Not sure what happened yesterday with my update. It updated over week 17... Anyway this week went great until I ran into a situation that forced me to regime my babies for a couple days. I wont include my local drama. LOL They are in a 5x5 Growlab and let me just say. I Love It. Dont k ow about the plastic corners but the tent itself is nice. Zippers and everything. I got in there and had the wife beam my grow light at the tent checking for leaks. Nothing.... just saying. Nice for the price... The girls are starting to spread out nicely. They enjoy the extra space and are happy with the air circulation. Probably still a week and a half or so. About 10(ish) days. 8 or so from my flush. That's my prediction looking at all these other Moby Dick Diaries... Hope a is well in the growing world!!!

OkieJim This week was just a fight to balance ph levels. They went up then they go down then visa versa. They are getting close. Just now started the flush last night. I already see yellowing leaves here and there. Nothing major, just baby spots here and there. Probably a couple more days and I will cut them down. Kinda mixed about it, but then again I get to start all over and maybe even outgrow these babies. I am ready to see how they smoke. Beautiful to me. They are frosty...

My very first grow. Ended up with 835 grams!!!! (EDIT!!! THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO SAY 235 GRAMS!!! SORRY FOR THE MISTAKE. JUST SAW IT...)Super happy with the yeild but also there is something else hidden in these green little nugs. Might be coke or something. Lmao. Seriously great taste, better than any i see in the dispensaries. Smell is dank as well. Just a bud on its own. Never had nugs taste sweet and diesel like both at the same time. Tasts like spring time lol. Totally in love with it. Deffinately a daytime smoke. Few hits and it comes on strong, that urge to go do something. Dishes, the shed, my tool box. Lol anything. Feels amazing. Happy stone. Very social weed. Easy to grow, i should have vegged for a shorter time but i am new and there is a learning curve. My next grow is gonna be massive. I will post some pics of my Veg room. Its almost ready. Working on my flower room now. Cant wait until I get to see what their sisters that I stored gets to pop. Will probably start germinating tomorrow. Not going to manifold this time. Just doing the scrog thing this time... They like the jars just saying. Been burping them every day now for 3 days. Will continue for another 4ish then burp once a week. Pretty happy with my grow. Those little hygrometers are awesome!!!!

Thinks are looking really good. I have things happening g in 5 out of the 6 rapid rooters. Lights are on the veg cycle and moved them 5.5 inches closer. They shot up over 2 inches in 8 hours! Hopefully they will be okay. I should see some filling out soon. They are growing fast. Now my lights are 19.5 inches away. They were 26. Tomorrow night I will add the other two bulbs back to the ballast. These LED lights pull alot more than expected from the wall so I am playing it as safe as possible. Plan on keeping these lights on them for about 2 weeks from tomorrow, then switch for the big spotlight. To finish veg cycle out and help with recovery from manifolding. That way I get as much as possible with as little veg time possible. Just my theory. Hope it works out.

I have been keeping a close eye on my ph levels. They are steady at 5.9 and I have seen no change as of yet. 48 hours. Got a little worried about maybe too much moisture and not being warm enough so I unplugged my pump and turned off my speed controller to let the heat build up a little. It is 79 degrees farenheit as of now. Still have oxygen pump going. Just turned off my top feed. The plugs were pretty wet. I did turn on my fan for a second to refresh the air to the box and that dropped the temp to 75ish for a bit. Should have built my light trap on the side not facing an air conditioner. Keeps it kind of cool like in the 69 degree range. I added a space heater set on 75. It keeps it about 79 degrees. Will wait one more day then try the paper towel method to get my seeds to germinate. Open to any suggestions. Just impatient maybe. Lol. Just ready to see some activity.

Yes I am running one reservoir/system for the two best looking seedlings. Rehoming the others to a tent and a friend. I see some activity finally!!!! Got Raelynn and Raeline popping their heads up to see what's happening. Anticipation gone. Now watching. I will post 7 pics every Saturday to update daily. This is going to be a Blast. Thank you Mark.

I dont know how to upload them to a comment. I will have to wait until Saturday during reservoir change to post. Got home and no more stretch. Looking good. Noticed that the leaves are starting to grow finally now. They did not like the Blurple at all. I may lower a couple inches. Not sure yet. They seem to like 38 inches but gonna try 36 to see how that does. BRIGHT. Need sunglasses almost. Squinting hard for sure. Lol. Got to 82 so we are good. I went ahead and cranked up the fans a little more for air exchange. I SHOULD be just about there now. Exchanging the whole box every 3 minutes or so. Going to be really HARD to choose between these babies. THEY ALL LOOK SOOOO DAMN GOOD! surprised. I'll decide by the weekend.

Temp is steady. They like the light so I'm not gonna push them too hard. Just gonna leave it till the morning. Leaves have exploded in just 4 hours. So RaeLynn, Raeline, Raechel, Raechelle, little RaeRae are all well and love the light. As far as I can see. May go ahead and post tomorrow. But want to keep my Journal as cohesive as possible. Patience is key right now. This reservoir change will be filled up where BeefWellingtons suggested as I expect some below deck activity in the next couple days. Fingers crossed....right. ow I only ha e 5 gallons in this 15 gallon tote. Should be close to 12 gallons next watering.
