Started by soaking 12+ hours in water. Paper towel for about 2 days, then transplanting to rockwool and placed inside a net cup of expanded clay to be placed inside a modified general hydroponics water farm.
The modifications include adding an air stone to the bottom of each reservoir, and attaching an extension with valve to make draining easier when I have full size plants in scrog nets and it's too difficult to empty clean and refill the reservoirs.
The first leaves were burnt from a nutrient problem but I changed the water once a week and everything seemed to work out fine. New growth is a nice green and praying. I help the leaves and new growth start to grow down some by low stress training along the way, but being gentle and light with them because they are still establishing roots and building up a stronger stem.
Next time I will likely start the seeds a different way or wait longer to transfer into these hydro buckets. In the past I've always transplanted a larger well established clone so the seed to rockwool to the net cup in leca was a first for me to see how I liked it. I likely won't do it again for stretching reasons and it feels too unpredictable because you can't check on the roots without disturbing/breaking them like you would other methods.
Everything has been going well. Removed the cotyledons and first set of leaf that was burnt.
Roots are starting to come through the bottom of the upper bucket and into the reservoir. There are signs of good root growth in the leca if you look closely.
390 ppm. I upped the feeding this week based on some other journals with the same nutrients. I had started really low to begin because I haven't used this brand yet and they typically tell you to use a lot more than necessary.
Ph 5.5 a little low but it creeps up quickly so I'll let it come up on its own and use less ph down next time
Ph creeped up during the week so ive adjusted a few times. I topped the fourth node on 11/28/23
Growth is going good. Very indica like leaf structure. It's starting to bush from topping last week.
Water changed with 300ppm and 5.5ph.
The light is at 50% power
Everything has been going well but I haven't done much for training besides some LST with my hands to try to shape the branches down. The stalk and branches are very thick and dense.
I mistakingly forgot calmag for a few water changes because I moved it and didn't have it with the other nutrients so I got some discoloration. The nodes are all reinforced like they do when you have a break and it repairs itself which is interesting. Its possible that it's caused from me hand training them often pushing them down. Has anyone else seen this?
Increased feeding levels and light to 100%. The calmag issue has gone away but some of the newer growth was lighter green almost yellow so I increased the feeding to a heavier feeding and will dial back the grow nutrients for the next few weeks to limit nitrogen. Added 6ml/gal rezclear due to some algae build up possibly from using organic nutrients (never got that with salts in this grow setup)
Strong growth, stretching this week increased. More trichome production, bud site production, smell is getting stronger. Upped the bloom in the feeding. Slight tip burn with darker old growth fan leaves. Newer growth is light green almost yellow. I am going to continue to decrease grow and increase bloom for a few weeks during mid flower.
Good vigorous growth, lots of stretching the last 1-2 weeks. I've been defoliating a lot to keep them from being too packed. Light sweet aroma. Very sticky, lots of bud sites visibly growing daily.
The growth has been very rapid, they are going through almost two gallons of nutrients every couple days. I filled it two days ago and it was getting low but didn't quite run out this evening.
Smell of the trichomes is lemon and pine. Very sticky just from hand defoliating. Almost sweet and not a sour aroma. Trichome development is all over the bud sites, fan leaves are getting covered near the stems and on the stems.
Rapid building of buds. Trichomes are all over and very sticky. Trichomes smell slightly sweet. I am trying to lower the humidity but I'm fighting the room humidity and the humidity coming from the hydro buckets and large plants exhaling. I may have to dehumidify the lung room.
Ah, Dosidos, a tantalizing tapestry of earthy and sweet, a true dance of flavors for the senses! Let's take a jaunt down memory lane and revisit the odyssey of this verdant beauty.
Once upon a time, in the twilight of 2023's autumnal embrace, a little Dosidos seed snuggled into its earthen cradle on the 4th of November. The world outside was preparing to slumber through winter’s chill, but within the sanctuary of the grow space, our seedling’s journey began with an earnest push towards the canopy of warmth above.
As days turned to weeks, our tiny dancer broke through the soil's surface, spreading her first tender leaves like arms yearning for the sun's caress. Folks, this was no ordinary sprout; she had a rhythm in her roots that resonated with the vibrations of the nurturing grow lights. She grooved and grew, her foliage fanning out in a luscious green display that whispered promises of the potency to come.
December arrived with its festive cheer, and just as the world donned its holiday glitter, our Dosidos decided it was time to show its own kind of sparkle. On the 22nd of December, she made the grand transition to flowering. Clusters of delicate pistils spiraled from her core, each one a minute sugar-frosted ballet dancer frozen mid-leap in anticipation of the final act—the bloom.
They say patience is a virtue, and this Dosidos grow was a meditation on that truth. She was tended to with the gentle patience of a gardener who knows when to step in and when to simply watch in awe. Her thirst quenched for the last time on day 36, she bore the weight of her crystalline trichomes with the grace of a seasoned performer.
As we anticipate the finale, let’s raise a glass (or a watering can) to this ravishing Dosidos, blooming under a symphony of light. Her dance, an artwork of organic splendor, is an ode to the grower's skill and Mother Nature's whimsical flair. From seed to stunner, her journey is a botanical ballet, a crescendo of cultivation that will soon be ready to take a bow. Cheers to our Dosidos, the belle of the ball, on her grow cycle waltz!
Bud sites are very sticky and covered in trichomes. I reduced the veg and micro and kept the bloom nutes the same due to the excessive green.
Full cleaning of hydro buckets and fresh solution for these last few weeks before flush.
Heavy defoliation of any fan leaves that are blocking airflow in the middle of the plant.
As the Dosidos plant embarks on week 7 of its flowering journey, it showcases an even more captivating transformation. The trichomes, those tiny crystalline structures adorning the surface of the buds, have transitioned to an almost entirely milky appearance, a hallmark of peak THC production and a cue for those seeking potency in their harvest. This milky state of trichomes suggests that the plant is at the pinnacle of its cannabinoid synthesis, offering an optimal balance of effects and flavor.
Interestingly, while a few amber trichomes have started to appear on the fan leaves, a testament to the plant's natural progression and maturity, the buds themselves remain devoid of amber trichomes. This unique characteristic indicates that the buds are in a prime window for harvest, especially for those aiming to capture the plant’s vibrant terpene profile and potent psychoactive effects without the sedative qualities often associated with amber trichomes. This stage of development underlines the Dosidos plant's exquisite timing, where every element, from color to cannabinoid content, aligns for an ideal harvest moment.
**Grow Diary Journal Entry: 8 Weeks Into Flowering**
Date: Feb 18, 2024
Week 8 of flowering has been a sight to behold! Our garden is transforming into a trichome wonderland, with buds bulking up and shimmering like a frosty morning. The air is thick with anticipation (and a pungent, delightful aroma) as we edge closer to harvest.
Last week, in a moment of impatience mixed with a dash of grower's curiosity, I decided to dry a branch to test the fruits of our labor. The verdict? Potent with a capital P, accompanied by a cerebral lift-off that's nothing short of space travel. The experience left me buzzing with excitement—this strain is shaping up to be something special.
Tonight, amidst the routine of reservoir cleaning and the meticulous task of flushing, I took the opportunity to trim a few more lower branches. It's all about giving the upper colas more energy to swell even bigger in this final stretch. She received nothing but pH-balanced water, a simple elixir to cleanse and prepare for the grand finale.
Handling the branches, I couldn't help but marvel at their stickiness—my fingers were coated in resin, a testament to the potency awaiting us. The scent that filled the air was intoxicating, a blend of earthy undertones and a sweet, almost fruity finish.
As I lay the trimmed branches out to dry, I find myself already daydreaming about the curing process. There's something magical about watching cannabis mature, transform, and develop its full spectrum of flavors and effects. If the initial test is anything to go by, we're in for a treat once everything is properly cured.
The anticipation for the final product is palpable, not just for the high but for the full sensory experience. The appearance, aroma, and texture of these buds are already impressive, and I can only imagine how they'll improve with a proper cure.
Looking forward to sharing the final results with you all. Until then, happy growing and here's to the final countdown!
Strain Review: Dosidos - A Symphony of Relaxation and Euphoria
Appearance: The Dosidos strain is a visual feast, with its dense buds colored in deep purples, vivid greens, and highlighted by fiery orange pistils. The sticky, compact nature of the buds, covered in a frosty layer of trichomes, promises a potent and aromatic experience.
Aroma: Opening the jar releases a captivating blend of earthy and sweet fragrances, a testament to Dosidos’ rich terpene profile. The aroma sets the stage for a sensory experience that is both complex and inviting.
Flavor: True to its aroma, Dosidos delivers a delightful taste that perfectly balances its earthy base with sweet overtones. The flavor is smooth on the inhale and exhale, enhancing the overall smoking experience.
Effects: Dosidos shines in its ability to harmonize uplifting mental effects with profound physical relaxation. The initial heady euphoria, marked by a lightness and a cerebral buzz, smoothly transitions into a state of deep, soothing calm. It uplifts the spirit, making conversations flow more freely, and gradually eases into a comforting relaxation that doesn't weigh you down.
Experience Time: My journey with Dosidos began at 7:26 p.m., and within minutes, the effects made their presence known. The uplifting sensation was immediate, enveloping my head with a light and euphoric touch. By 7:30 p.m., the relaxation deepened, encouraging a laid-back demeanor without diminishing my alertness or engagement.
Consumption: A king-size pre-roll of Dosidos was more than enough to reach a satisfying level of effects. Less than a quarter was consumed before I felt content with the experience, highlighting the strain's potency.
Cultivation Notes: Dosidos not only excels in its effects but also in its growth characteristics. It boasts good bud sizes and responds well to training, making it a rewarding strain for cultivators. Its resilience and ease of cultivation add to its appeal, ensuring a plentiful harvest of high-quality flowers.
Overall: My encounter with Dosidos has been overwhelmingly positive. Its potent effects, coupled with its delightful aroma and flavor, make it a standout strain. It’s a strain I’d heartily recommend for those seeking a blend of euphoria and relaxation, whether for social settings or personal enjoyment. Dosidos has earned its place as a top-tier choice for both connoisseurs and casual users alike.
This week was just PHd water for flush. The trichomes on the top buds had very little amber start to show on day 63 but could have been overlooked the last day or so. I decided based on my schedule and how the tester that we dried turned out that I was happy with harvesting now on Day 65 from flip.
I was happy with the equipment, nutrients, and genetics. The only thing I will do different next time is some better early training like a manifold and topping and pruning early to keep from having so many tall small branches from below.
For some reason the TDS number creeped up high (even though little water from the hydro had evaporates and been used). This caused burnt tips and leaves on the first set of leaves. Everything seems to be recovering well.
My Gummiebears that I'm growing right now (atlas seeds as well) has the same look were the branches meet the stem.. almost like the branches are welded on .. I haven't seen this before is it normal? Happy growing ✌️
@Hempface86, I have not. The only times I've seen it is where the plant breaks and heals itself around the break it forms a knuckle like that. I forced its branches almost daily so i may have made it do it unless its in the genetics. I like it either way, it seems sturdy!
Eyy buddy, as promised came to say hi.✌️🏻 Great strain choice, looking forward to seeing her growing in your garden. Also growing Dos-si-dos next to the other one you've already seen. Good luck, mate.🌱💨
@GrowPilot, Thanks a ton! Yes, it’s quite busy at the beginning but it pays off when it comes to great yield and quality stuff.
Ps. Just updated.;)
Followed you back buddy.
