Hello. This is the start of my strain or my cross - Pinoal Kush. 16 Regular Seeds
Thought I would start some old seeds. I tried Blackberry Gum. They didn't do well and couldn't tell why, till I measured the ph of the tap water that had always been 6.5 but it measured 7.5 That would be the reason they didn't do well. Next I thought I would try Lemon Pie Thai. These were 5 year old seeds and I adjusted the ph of the water and they were doing good but starting slow. I had a run of bad luck around the house (sewer backed up, leaky roof) and forgot about them for 4 days. When I remembered to check on them they were dry and shriveled up and almost dead. Damm I wanted to try those.
Well, I've got an empty tent and want to grow something. I made a number of crosses 1 1/2 years ago in the greenhouse and should give them a try.
To make this strain I took a female Amnesia Lemon by Barney. She had large buds and wasn't too tall and tasted like lemon. I found a good male of Northern Lights #5 from Dr. Atomic pre 2005 and a 2 paper bags I put the pollen in and put on the females single branch. We called that strain Lem-Nor. I grew these seeds out 1 1/2 years ago and took the best male of the Lem-nor and crossed it with my Pink Kush. I took the
Pi -for Pink Kush
no -for the Northern Lights #5
al -for the Amnesia Lemon female I started with.
WE got Pi-no-al - Pinoal Kush. Sounds like it came from far away.
Pink Kush is Indica Dom, Northern Lights is Indica dom 85% and the Amnesia Lemon is 85% sativa. So that makes this strain indica dom by about 75% is my guess.
The Lem-Nor made large buds and tasted of lemon and was fairly strong 22% to 23% THC. So I'm hoping for some good smoke from this cross.
I'm thinking of flowering for 10 weeks to see what she can do. The Pink Kush is covered/loaded in resin which I'm hoping to have it cross over to this new strain.
When I looked into the tent this morning 2 seedlings have folded over at mid stem. I propped them up but I thinking it might be damping off. Might try some sulphur powder to help.
OK. See ya later.
Be Great.
Chuck.
Hi Buddy. I've been growing for about 29 years now and have been learning the whole time. I've tried my hand at making seed in the last few years. I didn't make any last year because I didn't find a male that I liked. Through this site, I've sent some seeds around the world to people who have asked. The Pink Kush holds a big place in my heart. I found it at a grow op bust about 29 years ago. It turned out to be a world class strain. I'm so glad I saved it. Chuck.
@Chucky324, At least it's the throat and not the backside...the joys. Good to hear your on the mend.
The world will be a better place when it's recognised as medicine globally. I am interested to see in the next few years if it is indeed the cure of cancer in some form.
@Beadle420, Hi Friend. Thank You for that. Very nice of you. Yes the RSO is doing the job. Feel fine.
The doc can't find anything wrong with each check up. They push that camera up my nose and down my throat to see inside and out.
I'm here for a few more years as long as I take my ... medicine. 😎
One of the best diaries around that I saw my friend, thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Happy smoking for you!
Also got one question, are you 65 years really?? I honestly hope to get there and for sure get there as a grower like you!! I'm 25 btw
@Camarao_Desperto, Hi Buddy.
Yes I'm from the time of landraces, when all we could get was what someone else smuggled in.
We had Mexican sativa's and Afghani hash and Thai sticks and all sorts of good smokables, but it would dry up at times too, where all you could get was overpriced crap.
I wish I had all the seeds back that I have thrown away during those times.
I've been growing indoors for about the last 30 years or so.
I try to keep the best of the best that I've grown in clones.
But I like seeing if I can find some more of those super cannabis plants that happen in just a few seed per plant.
And showing how I can grow and hoping others can learn from my experience.
Thanks for the kind words.
Chuck.
@Dennis_Bong, Hi, Got that done this afternoon. The total dry weight is for 10 plants - 1148 g - The calculator said 4.1 oz. per plant.
Some plants had just 3 oz. and some had more than 4 oz. There are a couple of strong one too. I'll get the harvest posted in a couple of days.
Chuck
@Dennis_Bong, Hello. I'm just going to weight it up and put it in jars today. So I'll let you now.
I didn't let the plants get too big but they had good sized buds. I'm pleased with it.
Chuck.
