I put 3 seeds in a damp paper towel. I used ph balanced (6.5) tap water (my water also has chlorine in it, so I let it sit out for a day prior to using it.)
I put the paper towel, with the seeds inside, in a ziploc bag and placed that in a plastic DVD case. I checked on them once daily for moisture and progress.
Taproots sprouted from 2 out of the 3 seeds in roughly two days (I could have been a little more patient with the third seed; however, after 5 days with no root, I decided to cut my losses and gave up on it.) When the taproots grew to about 1/2” long I planted them in their final container.
This is my first grow, I think next time I will germinate the seeds directly in the soil.
All is well so far, as I have not encountered any issues. I planted the seeds in 5 gallon pots with a blend of Fox Farm Happy Frog soil and Perlite. I watered the soil until runoff and let dry for 2 days before planting the germinated seeds. At the end of the week, the soil was dry about an inch deep. I watered each pot with 12 oz of ph balanced (6.5) water using a spray bottle.
I’ve been keeping the soil moist by spraying it with 12oz of water around the edges every few days, trying to avoid the base of the stem. I lowered the tent humidity from 68% to 62% & have slowly been increasing the light intensity every few days. The light is 15” from plants, currently at 37.5% intensity (TSL2000 - 300w). I noticed a bit of tip curling on Plant 2 around Day 11-12 (see photo of Plant 2: Day 13), I’m staying vigilant, but have not taken any course of action yet. I am in 5 gallons fabric pots, using Happy Frog Soil. I haven’t used any nutrients and have been pretty careful about over-watering. Any tips or ideas on the issue I’m experiencing would be appreciated!
This is my first grow and I’m having a tough time dialing in my lights. The information you find regarding lighting techniques is all over the place! In the first two weeks, I’m pretty sure I had my light intensity way too high. Plant 2 was bright in color and some of the leaf tips were curling and didn’t look very healthy. I raised the lights and lowered the intensity to prevent further damage, and it perked up. I bought a meter and now am able to more accurately adjust my lights.
Other than lighting issues, everything seems to be going well! I started LST and the plants seemed to have responded well.
Both plants received their first full watering (until runoff, almost 1 gal. 6.5 ph tap water.)
The growth is speeding up a lot. So far so good!
I think I have finally dialed in my environment, and the plants seem happy!

I water these plants when the soil is dry to my knuckle, usually takes 7-10 days before dry.
I started these plants on the fox farm trio nutrients, using 25% the recommended dosage according to the Fox Farm feeding schedule.
Pre-flower began this week… I’m looking forward to the big stretch and to see some flowers forming!
Fed nutes @ 50% recommended dosage, and continued LST; plants are responding well.

Noticed some deficiencies, brown spots on lower fan leaves and plant 2 it’s brighter green than ideal… I will introduce CalMag next feed as well as increasing nutes dosage.
Fed nutes again @ 50% the recommended dosage, and added CalMag in hopes to stop brown spots and slight yellowing (see pic “Plant 1: Day 41.) If unsuccessful, I will assume potassium deficiency and go from there.

Will continue to lower humidity and increase dosage to 75% on nutrients next feed.
