Started over this weekend. First orange biscuit failed to thrive, first four assed monkey stretched too tall. Decreased moisture in grow dome, will turn lights up as soon as one sprouts this time instead of waiting. Lights on level one for now, vents closed, heating mat on medium low.
Moved them into solo cups once they opened up. Followed the light feeding guide on the canna website and I think it was too much. Backed it down a bit as there are signs of yellowing on the tips of the orange biscuit. It also has a wonky first leaf that I am hoping will correct itself. Fertigating daily
So far the nutrients seem to be within healthy range. Adjusted the light intensity midweek because they looked like they were stretching despite being in the appropriate DLI. Took the autopot domes off adjusted the light intensity up again to level 6. Adjusted the humidity VPD to 1 kpa.
Increased the amount of nutrients slightly. Running a small ceramic heater in the lung room with bottom vent of the tent open. I will gradually lower the heat level later in the week.
Lots of great growth this week. The roots were starting to grow out of the bottom of the solo cups so I decided to move them into their final pots. Mixed 5 gal of Nutrients and let it mix for several hours before watering the pots until run off. Let the pots runoff for 25 minutes then returned them to their bases. Added two tbsp of azos to the soil and three tbsp of mycos xp to the reservoir.
Turned off room heater as the plants can now stand lower temps, increased vpd to 1.1. ppfd is 410. I may increase the light at the end of the week
They seem happy, and really took well to the new pots. Didn't feed today because I feed till runoff last week. Im in 6.6 gallon autopots so they say not to to water again for 10-14 days. Nutrients listed above are what I fed with last week.
Lights are still at level 7 in my ac infinity 3x3. Will recheck DLI at the end of the week. By this time next week I should be turning on my autopot system for the first time. Fingers crossed 🤞
Plants look good. Had a cold spell here and the room got really cold. Bumped the lights up to 10. Noticed some leaf tacoing so I bumped it down to 9 today. Plants were ready for the autopot system to be turned on day 12. Vpd is at 1.1. noticed some leaves with spots on them at the base of the plant on the orange biscuits and 4 assed monkey so I cut them off (only four total). Tucked one of the leaves on the four assed monkey to let some light get to the lower branches. I added a brew belt around my resivoir and plugged it into an inkbird to get the resivoir temp up. It was at 61 degrees when I turned the system on. Now it is at a more comfortable 65 degrees. Resivoir has ten gallons in it. Mixed one gallon of nutes (measured for 10 gallons) then added that to the resivoir.
Merry Christmas!
Edit: noticed some leaf burning on the tips and some spots on several leaves. Not sure if this is from the temperature dips that occurred this week and lighting disturbances from losing power for ten hours last Monday. Topped the reservoir with two gallons of plain water and brought the ec down to 1.9. hopefully this will dillute the nutes to a more comfortable level. Leaves were still tacoing on the 4 assed monkey so I dropped the lights down to level 8. Turned the system off for about a day and a half and just turned it back on. Will let it drink all day and reassess tomorrow.
I definitely had a deficiency or over fertilization. With the adjustment made to the nutes this week, that fortunately didn't turn out bad. Plants seem happy. Autopot system has been on for about four days without me shutting them off to dry out a bit. Did some leaf tucking this week, but will start to defoliate now that the problem has stopped. May turn the lights up to ten this week, may change vpd to 1.2. flower sites are appearing more each day.
I've decided to not change my lights to 12-12 and I'm leaving them at 18-6.
Happy New Year!
They have grown a ton and started flower. Air temps have been problematic over the last two days due to a snow storm we had over the weekend. I have a heater outside of the tent and it's keeping me around 72 with lights on and 64 with lights off. Changed and cleaned the resivoir this weekend and added canna boost accelerator. Only mixed up five gallons but they are very thirsty right now, so I may have to mix more before the end of the week. No signs of nute burn or deficiency.
Lights are turned up to 10 vpd is set to 1.2. I will defoliate next weekend and may turn on the air domes.
Defoliated mostly on lower leaves. Temps are frigid here. I have a space heater in my lung room that keeps the day temp around 71-72 and the night around 62-64. Keeping an eye on it because it supposed to get much colder over the next few days.
They grew a ton! The flowers are starting to get bigger and there are quite a few bud sites. Turned on the air domes two days ago. Cleaned and refilled the reservoir. Lights are on 10. Trying to keep humidity around 1.2 VPD
I did some more defoliation today. Not really sure if I'm taking too much or not enough. Hopefully I'm not taking too much. Girls are huge! If they get any taller I'm going to have to do some research on super cropping. Going through about 10 gallons of nutrients water a week. Added pk 13/14 this week. Smell is starting to get yummy. One of them (I think the orange biscuits) smells like mandarin oranges or mango. Very excited to see the buds fattening up!
Still doing 18/6. Airdomes seem to be working out fine. Trying to keep my humidity between 50 and 55%. Avg VPD is about 0.98. I'd like to get that a little higher.
Everything looks good. A bit of a rinse and repeat from last week. Plants look healthy, and smell delicious. Added a dehumidifier to the room to get the humidity between 50-55%.
Everything looks good. Flowers are starting to fatten up. Reduced Nutrients this week. They seem to be doing well with this. Temps are steady, humidity is between 50-55%. Smells delicious 😋
Getting really close now. Just giving it water and letting it ride out. Trichomes are clouding up. I will start checking daily to see when it is ready for
Harvesting was pretty straightforward. Left most of the leaves, but did cut the larf off. Very excited to see how this dries and cures. It smells amazing!!
