Runtz failed to break ground after 4 days so I have popped a new one. Planted it with a 1cm shoot, so fingers crossed this one breaks through. Purple looks fine!
Purple is going great, I'm being disciplined with watering and she looks like she enjoys drying out a little in between. No luck with Runtz, I've had four seeds germinate but fail to break ground, so everything crossed for the last seed 🙏🙏🙏
Welp, that was my last Runtz. 5 seeds germinated perfectly, and every single one of them failed to break ground. No idea why, I've never seen this before. Purple was through in 2 days with identical conditions. Oh well, onwards and upwards with purple, who's looking very happy indeed will start LST in the next couple of days.
LST a week ago, bent my purple girl over with a tent peg and she responded beautifully by spreading out and recovering overnight. I've added a couple more pegs to expose the flowering sites and keep the lower leaves off the substrate. She's looking blooming marvellous. Happy days.
She's really taking off now. Adjusting her tent pegs daily to expose the flowering sites, quite a lot of them at this point so signs are good. Very healthy leaves, no yellowing or drooping even in the lower branches. I saw a large Huntsman spider in the tent which scared the bejesus out of me but haven't seen it since Christmas Eve, so fingers crossed it moved on. Happy days.
Yikes. She was yellowing a bit so I decided it was time for some feeding... I top dressed with some bone meal, kelp powder and guano and watered in with ph adjusted water. Looks like I might have overdone it a little - she's clawing and dropping slightly. I'll let her rest a few days and keep it to plain water for the next drink. Hopefully she recovers nicely. Sorry purple 💜
What a rollercoaster! Left her to settle after overfeeding, and watered her more sparingly after she dried out, but she was yellowing pretty badly. I examined her really closely and did some research, and worked out it was likely a magnesium and potassium deficiency. So I mixed up a foliar spray of kelp meal and squirted all over the leaves (both sides, shielding the buds), and gave her a light watering with a little calmag. She's really looking a lot healthier and praying to the light again. Very satisfied. Lifted her light a bit to encourage a bit more height. Tops are looking great. Onwards and upward!
OK! Don't want it to be true, but it's true...
Couple weeks back she was yellowing, I diagnosed deficiencies and fed her bonemeal, guano, kelp and calmag, and she got worse. Flushed her and started feeding with the big 3 instead, and she's now totally green and stacking up beautifully. So, big three all the way, it seems. I've certainly stunted her height with my meddling, but the buds are swelling beautifully. Happy days to come.
OK! Well, I should get something off this girl! Some real fatties on her now even though I fucked her up with overfeeding halfway through. She's tiny but looking thick now. A little light defoliation because there's a bunch of buds that weren't getting enough light, hopefully they can be salvaged. Onward to glory.
Ahhhhhh what might have been! BeeeeYOOOtiful buds on my purple girl now. In the harvest window now and I could probably take her now, but will probably leave her until the weekend. She's plumped up gorgeously and is slowing down with her drinking. About 10% amber in the top half of each cola, should get some fade in the next few days and then she's all done. Just water over the last week, and she's taken her final drink.
Not long now before I can lovingly end her life and imbibe the fumes from her desiccated corpse x
Right, decided to leave her another week, and I'm glad I did - buds have flattened and hardened, but I'm seeing quite a lot of amber over the top half of each cola. So it's a night outside in the dark and cold, and then chop tomorrow I think. Stay tuned for the harvest update! It's been emotional.
Welp, 64 dried isn't bad considering how badly I messed her up halfway through with overfeeding, but the food old FF trio saved her. Not very frosty but smells good. I had to chop a little early to get a solid long dry before going on vacation but now she's jarred and burping. Love and learn. Onto the next!
