My first try with fastbuds. Everyone is always going on about them so it seems right to try. Even though these are unreleased testers I look forward to the adventure and wil push them as hard as they will take..
I have a new nute line this run. Genoneeleven have sent me a package and it contains a product designed for in cities like mine where we have hard water with a much higher base mineral content. I look forward to seeing how this goes . Also I am going to go back onto lite mix. I picked up a good deal on 100l of their light mix and the thought of not having to water twice a day makes me happy to take a break from Coco
The beans were soaked for about 15 hrs . I then moved them into paper towels for another maybe 16 hrs and they had all made adequate taproots to be able to go into jiffy plugs with a sprinkle of green buzz living organics. This one has some rather loving cotyledon leaves that have wrapped tight stopping the plant from opening out. I've just kept her moist and they will open in the next 6 hrs I reckon ..
So far so fast 👍🏼🇬🇧😋
I had some root showing (just) through the plugs so I decided to transplant into 1l pots as it was annoying me how quickly the plugs were drying out.
I have put them into 1l of Plagron light mix which I added extra perlite to. I guess I'm sitting around 55-60% perlite. A good dose of living organics went into the substrate at about a third of the pots depth. I then buried the plants so there was about 1cm out the dirt. In 24 hrs all have grown about 4 CMS so I'm guessing they are happy.
The girl as I predicted last week opened her coltydon leaves that day and set the shoot free. There was some damage to her coltydon set but it's all fine and I won't even see it in a week.
Not much else to say at this early stage. I've mixed 1ml of rise up to a litre of water. Ph to 6.2 and it is given 90ml at a time if they need it. Foliar feeding with greenbuzz fast plant spray also..
Lights running at 20% and on a 24hr cycle giving a DLI of 15.8. I will drop this back to a 20/4 from today.
Thanks for stopping by.
I did not publish last week as I had a bit of drama with all the fast bud testers. They all looked quite poorly from the start . 2010 and 2012 both died out the blue. Just doubled over maybe damping off but no sign of anything along the stems.
Anyway I was struggling and was close to killing Celia off also but being British I love an underdog so I reset in my little tent dialled in the environment and went back to greenbuzz nutrients beneficial liquids for these early stages. I will use the Genoneeleven range once I need to feed NPK. The Plagron lite mix seems to be enough for now..
I'm hitting her with 6700lux and she is taking about 100ml of liquids every 5 days or so. All plants get a daily spray with greenbuzz fast plant spray as it is liquid gold 🥇.
My auto environment system is set to run a max 22 nin 19c for day and 17c to 19c for nights. RH is set to trigger humidifier if we go below 62% and will turn off at 65%. This leaves the tent at an average of 66% and 21c in the day.
Since I have reset she has made a comeback and I'm glad I kept her. Her first leaf set is ruined but I think I'm gonna top her at the 4th and strip nodes one and two. 🤔.
Anyway I will see about that but for now she is doing okay..
Thanks for passing.💚🌿
Been okay this week. Settled into her new pot and is now growing as should be.
Starting to up the N as I will flip this week.
Temps have been high 20c low 17c. RH has highs of 62 and lows of 55. My automation is keeping the room within these parameters perfectly
I'm going to up the lux also by another 800.
That's all I guess.
Thanks for having a look.
💚🌿🇬🇧
I don't know what I've done to these fastbuds. I had 3 ffna to rest. If those 2 died at week 2. I came in the room and they were just doubled over and fucked. Celia seemed to pull through that unscathed but now at week 5 there is an abnormalitie in her stem where it thins to a weak knuckle and the grows out again. Well this is a weak spot on the plant and it feels like it is gonna snap over at that point. I have many other strains running all in the exact same environment same substrate same nutes and they are all on point. So I'm confused as to what the issues are ...
Also I topped her last week and she has decided to grow a cola from the topping wound... Whatever ..this plant is just odd and I'm not sure I want anymore to do with it. But being British I can't leave the underdog alone so we will push on..
What a strange grow..😜
Celia.. she's breaking my heart..
This week sees Celia getting flipped. To me she is just a different plant to what I am used to. I can't really say bad about her but I still don't get her. It has no real personality for me. But this in itself makes it quirky enough to engage me in a paradoxical way so fuck it...
Healthy and strong with no issues in that regard.
She has grown a mutant single cola from where I topped her. Which is a thing.. I don't know why she has done this but I decided to keep it as it just extra flower at the end. I may have to peg it as it is quite a weak branch with a big flower site on the end of it.
Feeds are still just beneficial liquids from Greenbuzz. A check of the Plagron lite mix runoff shows a 2.8ec so no npk for now. I think it should get used up this week as she stretches by I'm watching it.
Environment is bang on and not much to talk about as my automation looks after that side of things
Side lights may be brought in this week so I can dim the main lights a bit.
Thanks for looking.
💚🇬🇧💚🌿
I guess it is going okay. This plant that stacks like an auto, always looks ill. Like it wants a drink or Rh is too high.. but it's not that because I'm managing that. She's still just my weird plant 😳😂
Flower sites are up after what I would call a lackluster stretch. I think it's me and this lite mix. I don't like it. This will be the last run in this lame ass substrate. Coco will be back. The work is more but so are the rewards.
I've got to start to get some npk in her. Plagron lite mix is still got some beans left. But gonna start to get some P and K issues soon I think.
I just want.thia run to end so I can go back to what I know...
That's all. Thanks for passing by.
She's into flower and has some nice sites. Gave her a bit of a clear up if some lower waste . She has no real smell ATM not even the pre flowers I cut off from the lowers . Not sure how it will develop but I am curious now
Her structure is a lot like an auto to me. She has just had a topping and has a strange mutant third cola growing out from where I topped her.🤪.
Upped her feeds with some bloom and a little grow. The light mix is finally depleted after 8 weeks...😳😳
I should have started her up last week on npk really but it's my first run with Plagron (and last in peat). This shit is got some legs and fed them for at least 6 weeks well and managed the last 2 with the first signs of some lacking in her lowest leaf .
I will start the UV in 15 minutes sessions twice a day from next week.
That's all. Thanks for passing by.
An okay week for Celia. She has started to bulk up nicely. Again I'm gonna moan about light mix. Peat is just a shit substrate. At least in Coco I know what's in there . This shit has been super charged since day one and I have no idea what levels of npk are in it. So last one and back to Coco
That moan was caused because I have fucked the feed levels a bit. I missed the p and K when it was needed 2 weeks ago and now some lower leaf is suffering and overall colour is a bit grenello...
It's all good. As I say she is bulking up. I don't like her internode buds they look like they are gonna squash too much and cause me some issues with Roy. I shall dedicate a fan just for her to keep air flow as good as it can be.
Feeds are up to 1.5ec and she's getting about 42 dli.
Thanks for looking.
Grow well. 🌿💚🇬🇧👍🏼
Celia is suffering a bit from a pH imbalance due to the ridiculous buffer in the light mix. I'm putting in a 6.9 and run off is a 5.9. if it persists this week then a flush through if some neutral water will happen.
Otherwise she is putting the weight on. Flowers have a great sweet smell of fruit. Not sure what it is yet but I like it. Structure is good and node spacing on the flowers has been spot on. If I can rebalance her pH I think she has a fair bit more to give. I imagine we are halfway through flowering ATM.
Feeds are 1.5 EC and I alternate more PK every other feed .
Thanks for having a look. This run has been a big disappointment for me so far. The substrate is my issue. I am just no good in peat . 😞.
Coco back next run 👍🏼.
Plant looks like total dogshit. I have never had such a bad run as this and the final products I harvest will be some of the worse grown I've done so far .
But we live and we learn...
pH and EC is all back on track now but she has suffered too much and now her beautiful greens are a broken neglected yellow with signs of every deficiency known thanks to the pH lock out.
Now she's on track again I'm hoping there's enough time for her to get some chunky to her flowers . Smells great and some light frosting. Maybe the UVB I implemented today will help ..
Anyway next time I'll do better.
Thanks for looking.
This will be the last week for Celia. I expect to chop her in the next few days. Finished in 7 weeks is pretty damn fast the buds are quite big but not as dense as what I usually grow but that probably down to me and a few hiccups early on.
All in all I'm impressed with the speed. Not overly keen on her structure but that's a personal thing..
Flowers are sticky with a medium frost but the smell is where it's at.
Can't place it yet . A fruit of some kind and quite sweet. I like..
She will get just water and some beneficial liquids in her last days .
Thanks for looking.
Grow well.🇬🇧💚🌿🤘🏼
I found some pollen sacs on the very bottom of her lowest flower. So she got chopped and left to dry out .
I will come back in a week or so and we will see if I have a load of seed filled hash making materials or if there is some smokable flower.
I don't think the genetics are to blame. I kind of fucked up in the early stages of this run and 4 of my 12 plants have suffered. I normally grow in Coco and I guess I forgot about lightmix and how it needs to be treated. At the same time Celia Is the only one to drop sacs so read into that what you will.
The plant smells amazing and I will consider trying another run of this tester and do it properly.
Oh well..
Back in a few once it's dried up a bit.
@HerbalEdu, thank you that's very kind words. I am quite disappointed myself I fucked up so many things this run I let the plants down inlet myself down my mum will be disappointed and the dog has stopped coming on walks..😂.
I will go back to Coco next run and I may rerun one of these and do it properly..thanks for looking.🇬🇧👍🏼🌿💚
@limelight77, thanks growmine. I love a challenge. As long as the environment is on point and the light is giving enough photons I think we will be fine. 👍🏼🇬🇧💚🌿
