Well we got even more nugs forming up now, the plant is really packing on some weight and smells great.
I’m thinking the plant is gonna be a great yielder. The nugs are starting to give off the same smell as the last plant I grew. It’s got a great chocolate cream mix that smells awesome! I’m excited to hit this treat again!
Constructing the ULTIMATE Light!

* 18 gauge solid core wire 30’
* Power drill
* Drill bits - various
* Chop saw or hack saw
* Wrench / Ratchet
* Measuring tape
* Marker
* Rope ratchet hangers
* Wire nuts
* Zip ties
* Bolts
* Nuts
* Washers
* Money, lots.
*Note - All the electrical parts can be sourced from alibaba.com for a decent price or you can alternatively find pre-made DIY kits on EBay with a markup. I recommend sourcing the remaining items from a hardware store like Lowe’s or HomeDepot. You can also buy a prefabricated light like this from timbergrowlights.com but you will pay double to triple the price.*
I highly recommend watching videos on YouTube by “LEDGardener” or “GrowMau5”.
Their videos helped immensely with the project and if they somehow see this - I owe you guys one! Both of them have great instructional videos on the DIY process and core required knowledge.
So last week we built the frame and this week we are going to complete phase two!
Phase Two - The Electrical work
1. Place your COBs into the solderless holders , make sure the + and - line up properly.
2. Place thermal pads/paste on back of COBs.
3. Screw on the solderless holders to the Heatsink.
4. Measure the length between each COB on your frame and cut lengths of wire plus a few extra inches to give some slack.
5. Make a long Positive(+) lead from the first COB so you have something to attach to the driver later to power everything.
6. Connect the COBs together in a series power circuit. Which is essentially just one long wire with the connecting positive to negative alternating between COBs as you go down the line.
7. Wire 5 COBs together in a series and leave a long Negative(-) lead from the last COB to hook up to power later.
8. Repeat step 4/5/6 for the remaining 5 COBs.
9. Connect the Grounded Plugs to the input of the Meanwell drivers. Make sure it’s wired correctly.
10. Take your potentiometer and attach it to the Dim+ and Dim- leads. You want the adjustment knob to be facing you. Connect the positive wire to the middle lead , the negative wire to the left lead and the right lead you want left empty on the potentiometer.
11. Now that you have the drivers assembled and your COBs rough wired it’s time to put on the reflectors or Lenses. Screw these in place to enhance the light penetration and concentration.
12. Attach the fully assembled COBs to the frame. Try to get the 4 long Leads(2+ and 2-) heading in the same direction.
13. Take the the positive and negative lead from the first set of 5 COBs and attach to the Output wires from the driver. Make sure to attach positive to positive and negative to negative.
14. Repeat step 13 for the other 5 COBs.
15. Test it out ! Plug the first driver in to power and hopefully you followed these steps .. it should provide a intense blast of light! Repeat for the second driver.
16. Now you can zip tie down the wires securely to your frame so nothing comes loose by accident.
17. I bought heavy duty zip ties and attached 4 of them, one to each corner.
18. Attach the rope ratchet hangers to each corner zip tie and hang in desired area!
19. You now have the ultimate light for a 4x4 tent ! This is just as powerful as 1000w HPS at half the power while providing a Full spectrum to the plant.
Next week I will go over the specifications and nerdy data points about cobs and the light we built.
Wow! So now you should have a working light fixture and hopefully some great looking plants too. If you’ve followed along with this series at all .. we have covered a lot of subjects.
We covered how to make the perfect Coco, plant training, building a water table, building an auto watering system , building an LED light frame plus how to wire/assemble an LED COB light! That’s over 7 tutorials I’ve packed into this grow so far.. we have a few weeks left .. what else can I come up with?
Thanks for following along everybody and as always Happy Growing!

Its Charles Parato....I have one question about WEEK 1 your feeding during that week...how many days after you planted did you wait for the first nutrient feeding? I think I am going to use this feeding schedule for Fast Buds Zkittlez...in the germination process now....will have a diary started next week or so...already putting together some videos and photos....probably post my diary a week behind my actual process...more or less I want to know HOW SOON CAN I USE THE RAPID START???
@@TheWeedMan, well I jumped the gun loaded my first diary....I didnt know you could easily edit it for each week....I will add a Day-7 slide show of each plant again....THEY LOVED THE 1ML CALMAG & RAPID START each..green'ed right up even started TINY TINY TINY little serrated leaves in like NO TIME FLAT....they were looking a bit purple...on the first round leaves......BUT GOING GREAT.....got what 14-15 likes on my diary in my first hour....THANKS AGAIN YOU DID A GREAT JOB LETTING SOMEONE TEACH THEMSELVES.....im going to nail this thing,,,,I DONT HAVE ANYHTING ELSE TO DO BUT GIVE PLASMA TWICE A WEEK AND PLAY ICE HOCKEY TWICE A WEEK....well thats my physical therapy...Ice Hockey....payed for it all with BLOOD MONEY from the Plasma center...O'yeah that reminds me I need to list my expenses for my $1000 4x8 tent budget grow....this new light I think even you would approve of....I LOVE IT...so much better....photos of it in the TENT SET UP SLIDE SHOW....totally impressed...compared to the others I thought were good....brighter to the eyes, and better spectrum according to the camera

@@TheWeedMan, whelp I said "FUCK IT" which is actually a BOOK TITLE I started....I said all 8 look great its day 3.5-4 lets go for it....so I hit them with a light quick watering at Ph 5.8 with 1ml Rapid Start & 1ml CalMag both GHE....based on the color...RAPID START is just more Magnesium in it...TOTAL RIP OFF....but I got it for $7 so im not going to complain....WOW THAT TOOK MY Ph WAY DOWN...had to check three times before I had the right amount of Ph UP in there to put it at 5.7-6.0....I CANT AFFORD A QUALITY Ph meter and the cheap one NOT GOOD AT ALL...so using the chemical Ph test kit....but rinsing things off...My R/O/ water is already perfect at 6.0 so I have to love that for $0.87 a gallon from the store...have to see how my tap water is after my R/O filter system arrives...BUT FOR $90 it will pay for itself in under a month.....GOT 8 UP ALL ABOUT 2 INCHES...LOOKING REALLY GOOD...should have a diary worth looking at come Tuesday night Wednesday afternoon....I THINK IVE GOT IT....went all Zkittlez figured trying to deal with four different genetics to soon would be a disaster for at least half the plants...I have to heavy's and two moderate to light eaters....LOOKING GOOD....hope they can handle the CalMag & Rapid Start...1ml each to about 1.3 gallons...BUT VERY LIGHT WATERING......will Ph water again later to make sure it hasn't changed to much....but I use a CHEMICAL PUMP SPRAYER...they work great nice reach controlled flow and precision watering...not to mention great reach in tough places....JUST TAKE THE TIP OFF ITS A REGULAR WATERER....I love them for $10 use those to RAISE HUMIDITY in my tubs for Boomer Asiansan's
@@TheWeedMan, Welp, got all 8 up and growing...about one inch each...3 are still kicking the seed shell off...day 2 since they all broke the surface.....looking good so far...not bad for a first time rookie...gotta get through this first week they seem to all be responding well to the coco I placed them in...nice dark green leaves....first diary will go up on Tuesday or Wednesday....that first 24 hour part is nerve wrecking
@OutForReal, training works great. I haven’t done any other plant training as I worry it may stunt growth. But with aggressive LST training I got these lovely plants 👊🏻👍🏻🇨🇦
