They are living beings. They need to be raised. That means everyday there is something to do. You can’t phone it in either. There is no sprinkling some beans on the ground and then your living your best version of jack and the beanstalk.
Your harvest will be a direct result of how much attention you give your girls period.
Emphasis on the word attention. It’s one thing to stand there smoking a j while holding a hose. It’s a whole other level when you are actively mentally and physically engaged in the interaction. How many times a day are you going to scan every leaf for powdery mildew? How many times will you be looking at the stalks for aphids? When you see that pretty little cabbage moth flying over your buds like it’s checking the kids in for a stay are you ready to look every day for botrytis? Are you gonna spend the time to feed them well or you gonna go the mcdonalds route and buy bottles? You going to build up the soil everyday enriching it with your compost or you going to setup an auto-feed and walk away? The more active effort you put in the better the results.
Growers don’t live hour by hour. They don’t live day by day or even month by month. We live by seasons; by harvests. Are you ready to build a calendar around your babies? I only see this happening with people that have the passion. You have to be dedicated. You have to constantly be drawn to it even when there is a million “better things you could be doing with your time”.
2. Impact on your direct environment.
Growing takes space and energy. Both of those effect your living conditions and your wallet so you need to consider it. If you are growing indoors do you have a dedicated space with sufficient power? If you do are you willing to pay the electrical bill? When you are screwing around with a couple of cheap amazon led panels that’s one thing. In my area every big boy light I hang costs me 150 bucks a month after I factor in cooling. A two car home garage could easily fit eight or more of those. You going to pay that bill? How much are you comfortable spending? You willing to give your garage up? If you are doing this in a tent in your house are you willing to listen to those fans spinning all day? Is your wife? You willing to lug water through the house or setup something from the bathroom faucet? Have you tested your water to know it’s ph and mineral content? Is it filled with chloramine requiring filtration and too alkaline requiring you to ph every single time you water? Where you going to put the reservoir? Where does the ac unit go? You going to automate all of that or how many times a day are you going to check temps and humidity? It never ends. But sometimes with enough love. 3 years ago I didn't know the difference between a Indica or sativa, only reason I ever grew was someone told me It would be too hard for me.
