Squuncke Running a first selfed feminized bean produced by using a Granddaddy Purple female from Blimburn Seeds and a male Pine Tar Kush from Tom Hill. Don't really have a name so for now just calling it the "Gadapapataka S1" until I know what it is like post harvest. 👽 I'm just curious about what a marriage between these two is like. GDP is one of my faves and the PTK male used is of one of the heavier hitting strains in my bean box.

Squuncke Seemed happy enough for this week. Getting ready to begin full fertigation drenches, increase light intensity. She's hitting the amended media outside of her peat plug a little hot for her age but seems to be holding up nicely. Sometimes there are brief blips early, sometimes not. This one looks like she's going to pull a Miesha Tate and just keep advancing into the light.

Squuncke Missed a week due to a combination of bad weather, vehicle probs, and work. Back on track finally for this weekend.
No real plant issues. Worried a little about the wide temp. swings. At night when the lights are off the temp gets pretty low now between 58 and 62 F. During the day the light brings the temp up to around 72 or so. Think it might be a good idea to run the lights at night and dark during the day. I don't know yet. No big observable trouble for the plant so far.

Squuncke Growin' right along. I'm flippin' and switchin' fertilizer already. Looking to move along and do expect a shorter and possibly little less productive plant. But I like to keep grows in the 4 to 4.5 month range or shorter if I can. These plants are just for me so it really doesn't matter what I get as long as I get something. 😋
If anyone wonders why my fertigation solution is so element diluted it's because I have an amended pot. If I wanted to I could get by on just tap water, but it tends to fall just a little short if I do things that way. Especially for bud set and flower.

Squuncke Still no probs so far. I know this plant produces round and tight buds so I'm hoping for at least a X3 stretch from here. Very tolerant up to this point in growth. No elemental changes or adjustments required. In fact, she might be storing up a little too much nitrogen. Not really sure but not really willing to test it either. It's a steady as she goes game right now. Cleaned up the bottom section and trained out the lower branches in case they keep up.

Squuncke No big probs. At this stage of veg. this plant emits a really sour smell. Especially after the light has been on for over an hour and things heat up a little in there. It reminds me of the sour smell from other plants but this one is particularly strong. Imagine taking a big whiff of melted green apple super sour candies that have been poured on a napkin lightly spritzed with lemon concentrate. It's a little like that. 😶
I'll be proceeding with caution. ✊😷👍

Squuncke Noticed a few fungus gnats so just out of caution delivered a little Neem Oil prep. I hate the smell of that stuff but it works very well. Hopefully it will be for this week only and won't have to reapply after a few weeks. Otherwise things are fine. 😊

Squuncke Frost is starting to accumulate. No big issues this week. No fungus gnats have returned yet. Some minor stress from what I think might be temperature related but it could also have been from the neem oil treatment from last week. It might just be the plant. I'm really not sure. If it's a stress response it's minor whatever it is. Just watching for now.

Squuncke Buds are very dense and covered with resin heads. Not a highly productive plant for sure, but the potency should be very good. Right now the plant is giving off an odor that reminds me of Lemon Mr. Cleen floor cleaner with a splashy and sweet background scent of a candy something like a bowl of Good & Fruity that has been set about three feet away from you. Mostly it's a lemony cleaner kind of scent right now behind the familiar earthy/hashy smell. Plant looks robust and healthy but is retaining a little too much nitrogen. It's time to start flushing.

Squuncke Just about wrapping her up. I'm lousy at taking pics in general but this plant does have a very nice contrast between deep forest green leaves and deep purple stem and vein coloration. This is the first from seed grow for this plant. Next time I'm going to lighten the pot amendments a tad and control more of the feeds from the top with a drip and foliar sprays. For this time I wanted to see it as natural as possible and how it did with 2x/day feeds. Not too shabby. Looking forward to the smoke test. 😜

Thanks. This is the result of a Christmas dare in 2022 that led to my own curiosity about including the PTK. It was overdue to inbreed anyway and already had the pollen saved. I only have a 2.3x2.3 tent and a 3x3 along with two mini germination/propagation tents. So I had to do some fancy tent work to get everything done. If this plant doesn't herm on me it will be the first time I try it to see what the effects are like. I tossed the original female of course. It was the only female I could keep at the time to self.
Anyways, I'm hoping the PTK will add just a little more oomph to an already oomphy Granddaddy Purple. Maybe alter the taste a little, but I care less about that than the effect. I love the GDP out loud. It's so good for day and night use with my particular body make up. I won't go further than this F1/S1. Pure curiosity while I had the PTK pollen already frozen.
