The last week of veg is here!
The plants are seeming a bit happier and healthier. I think I was underwatering a bit, and they are definitely getting more thirsty. The tea, calmag, and lighting adjustments all helped get things under control.
I made another tea this week, 1cup earthworm castings, 9ml/gal micronutrients, 7.5ml/gal calmag, 1 tsp great white. PH to 6.5 and it was right about 1000ppm. Each plant got about 1.5 liter.
I found a great deal on a 300w spider farmer light, which arrived this week, but one of the light bar power connections was broken. The seller is sending a replacement, which has now been delayed in the mail. I need this light for flower, and I want the plants (and my environmental settings) to have a few days to get acclimated.
Toward the end of this week, assuming all goes to plan, I'll be topdressing for flower, and reconfiguring the tent, with increased circulation and a much better light. Everything should be in place to start week 1 of flower this coming weekend.
Day 4 update: pre-flower topdress is complete.
1tsp uprising grow
1tsp uprising bloom
Watered in with a bit of calmag water ph to 6.5.
Day 5 update: the light is here! Pulled everything out, gave it a quick clean, rearranged wiring, hung the new fan and light, and got everything situated. The humidifier is coming out of the tent for flower.
A cloning setup would be really helpful at this point, I want to save the Orangecello and Permanent Marker. I will take a few cuts for experimental purposes and pray things work out...
Is it OK to use my old compost tea? Can it be used as a foliar spray? If yes, can this be done during the daytime cycle?
My tea started brewing on 1/5 and it's only 4 days later. The tea doesn't smell horrible and is only 400ppm. It feels like a waste to dump it.
How will I know when it's time to transplant? Some roots showing at the bottom of the cups, but plants still seem too small with only around 6 baby leaves. Sprouted 12/28 but some early stunted growth, we are early week 3 but maybe lagging behind "normal" growth.
Looks Dope!
Love that permanent marker you got goin. I'm sure they still have some filling in to do yet!
Not bad for a Noob. Not bad!
I'm sure someone will give you a well deserved pat on the back when you choke on that smoke 😆!
Your gameplan seems solid. Don't forget timing is everything ✨️. Good luck and if I don't make it back, enjoy!
Its not running out, its you reducing amounts to healthy from previous overdose. Add epsom salt to feeds or other way increase magnesium a bit. Have fun !
@jmsky, i am growing actively for 8 years, with a lot of plants, but in my recent run i had two anomalies first time. One plant was showing magnesium issues till almost mid of flower, most probably pickiest strain ever . Other was diagnosed by me wrong, first time bumbed into calcium toxicity, symptoms very similar to deficiency and i screw up heavily. Main thing - never panic. Rethink many times and then do actions.
Happy Growing !!!
@AsNoriu, thanks for the tips! I am still learning and often read confusing or conflicting things, especially about nutrients and reading leaves. I appreciate your experienced guidance! 😎
@jmsky, i dont know, maybe medium was too hot, but that patern of discoloration from dark green to patchy bright is aftermath of overfeeding. I saw signs of magnesium too, thats why i wrote. Plants responds good - carry on . Sometimes they need time to establish, main thing are they developing and growing healthy - if yes, ignore my remarks.
Good luck !
